How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The room that we received was very, very, small, and outdated, not at all like in the bookings photos. I couldn’t close the door from the wardrobe, it was broken. In the bathroom, towel holder was broken, and after 9.00pm we didn’t have warm water at the shower.

Verified reviewBeautiful room in a beautiful location. The suites are fantastic & the basic room was clean & comfortable. We would definitely stay again, being right on the beach is just amazing. The sunrise from the suite was perfect, I slept with the curtains open so I wouldn’t miss it.
Our room on the ground floor opened up on to the restaurant tables so didn’t feel like we could use the outside space much as people were sat eating meals right at our outside space… literally our only negative point about our rooms but it made us feel like we couldn’t have our door open or sit outside.

Verified reviewPerfect location direct onto the beach and main strip behind with bars restaraunts shops etc. A quiet hotel too .my room was not one of the renovated rooms but it had everything i needed and expected and suited me just fine, lovely comfy bed and pillows .As a solo female traveller i felt very safe.The owner Fay was very helpful keeping in touch and answering any questions.I would be happy to stay here again if i visit Alykes.

The fact that every area or Restaurant, Beach Beds, Bar and Accommodation were all separate entities and to get anything done, one had to wait until the hotel staff came it. Also no reception.

Very poor bathroom. Upgraded room and presumed it would be the same as pictured in booking. Sadly not.

Verified reviewIts in an ideal spot, straight onto the beach. Sea views although the trees outside need trimming to enhance the view. Food in the taverna is excellent as are all the staff. Bathroom was amazing too
We were in room 8, deluxe Seaview, please be aware that rooms 7 and 8 share a terrace which is huge, but there is no privacy what so ever, this is not mentioned when booking. A partition in-between the terrace space would ensure customers would return. Lack of storage space, would benefit from drawers and a proper wardrobe

Verified reviewIn our opinion Asteria had the best location in Alykes, we really enjoyed our lengthy stay. The Alykes Beach and surrounds were very clean and the summer vibe was amazing. The rooms at Asteria are spacious and impeccably cleaned. We enjoyed the traditional Zakynthian music nights at the stylishly refurbished taverna and just loved the fresh seafood , Greek dishes, drinks and cocktails served there. The staff were very professional and super friendly. We would love to return here again in the future if the opportunity arises.

Verified reviewThe staff were very friendly and tried to help when they could. The balcony view was superb.
The room was very very small. There was no power socket for the kettle by the fridge, on which the cups, kettle and accessories were located. Thus the kettle had to be boiled on a bedside cabinet, not a safe arrangement. The bathroom toilet cistern leaked and we had to put a bucket under it to try and keep the floor dry. The shower was very small and awkward to use. Items listed as being supplied in the Booking.com Booking Confirmation were not present, i.e. 1) no Safety deposit box; 2) no iron; 3) no hair drier, this however was supplied after we complained about it.

Verified reviewTerrific location above a taverna and right on the beach. Staff were very responsive when we had a couple of minor issues. The room was well appointed, airy and comfortable. The bed was great. View over the beach and sea was lovely. Close to shops and restaurants and on site parking.
No breakfast available (but places within walking distance) and wifi was patchy. No hair dryer, although host indicated she would make sure there was one available for next guests.

Sun beds are not as comfy - mattresses need to be thicker prices are now 15 euros a day for 2 still good but they and the umberellas look a little tired compared to other sunbeds close by
