Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNothing was bad. I liked everything
Ok the stay was excellent and here’s why. We booked our flights to Air Canada to fly into Athens on the 17th. Due to the air Canada strike we were left hopeless and upset that we wouldn’t be able to have a flight to Greece. We ended up booking back up tickets due to our flight getting cancelled and we’re now going to arrive on the 18th. We called the hotel and informed them of the situation and they accommodated us amazingly. Not only did they let us check into our hotel on the 18th, a day later, with no hassle, but they even refunded us for the day we wouldn’t be there(I honestly didn’t expect them to do that and even told them that we aren’t worried about a refund, just being able to check in). We checked in seemlessly on the 18th and we were showed our hotel room and from that point on got the best service ever. Any inconvenience in our way was swiftly taken care of by the front desk (shout out to them). The room was nice and clean, room service came to our room with fresh baklava, the mini bar was always stocked and super cheap as well. Our balcony view was amazing, we made sure to eat and have coffee on the balcony and the service at the rooftop bar was top notch as well. The waiter was so nice and the view from the roof top bar was even better. The hotel was close by everything so we walked and ate and shopped as much as we wanted knowing our hotel was only a 10-15 min walk away from where we were. When we checked out they even held out luggage for us until it was time to head to the airport and then they called a taxi for us. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay and will be returning in the future. Air Canada may have screwed us out of a whole day of our vacation, but the staff at Athens Cypria made up for the lost time and allowed us to have a great stay. Thank you Athens Cypria for being the absolute GOAT of hotels. P.

AustraliaThe only issue we had was there was a sporting team staying on our level and in the rooms around us. They were talking loudly all hours on the night and banging doors etc. we had to complain after the first night.
The location was great and we can walk to lots of things . The room was comfortable and the breakfast was great.

AustraliaSome construction noise from building next to our room early morning but because we were staying 2 nights I didn’t bother complaining
Stayed 2 nights at Cypria Hotel, because of the location right in the centre of Ermou street which is the main shopping district in Athens Close to all restaurants, Monastiraki, Plaka and Syntagma square. The Hotel has been renovated since we were here 18 years ago 😳 fir the better entrance and reception is so much bigger now and nicer Room was nice and big, with nice big bathroom The breakfast is one of the best we had while staying in Greece it had everything from eggs and bacon, Greek pastries fruits yogurt coffee machine and you can even make your own Greek coffee. The Porter Andrea was a very helpful staff member at the hotel and we also had a nice conversation with Stamatina in the coffee shop was very nice and helpful. Loved our stay and will return again 😍

United StatesThe only thing I didn’t care for was the bed and the pillow. The bed offered no real support. My lower back didn’t appreciate. The pillows were big puffs of no support. Lucky I had airplane travel pillow.
Most everything was great. Updated, clean, roomy, location and a superb buffet breakfast.

United StatesThere was no advice on where to park for three days. The gym was underwhelming, but still thankful to have a few light free weights since finding a gym in central Athens is almost impossible. The “laundry service” is a dry cleaning service that your regular traveler can not afford.
The hotel is perfectly situated in a small street off of Ermou, you can walk everywhere. It was clean and the bathroom was spacious for a Greek hotel.

United StatesThe breakfast restaurant staff is extremely unwelcoming. Beside one waitress, all look annoyed all the time, even when greeted with a warm Kalimera and a smile. They keep the restaurant clean and tidy but should be also pleasant and welcoming. Same experience we had at the rooftop bar. We went up twice but no one attended us nor inviting so we just left and went to bars outside of the hotel. Last is around their website: you get emails to book pick ups from and to airport but the website does not work so we needed to write email and call.
The location is amazing, right in middle of town. The room had a view over the Pantheon, absolutely spectacular. Breakfast w decent choice of foods.

United StatesThere was construction going on in the building right next to the room we stayed in. One night, probably due to extreme heat, there was considerable noise as they worked to avoid some of the daytime heat.
We enjoyed our stay at Athens Cypria Hotel. The hotel is clean and comfortable. We loved the rooftop bar with its amazing view of the Acropolis lit up at night. The hotel was close to many attractions, and we were able to walk to shopping and sightseeing tours. There were plenty of restaurants nearby. Our favorite part of our stay was Adreas, the bell man. He greeted us when we arrived and showed us around the hotel. He was happy to answer our questions throughout our stay. We had lovely conversations about life in Greece, and we knew if we needed anything, Adreas would be available to help. We felt like we made a friend.
