The place is built into the mountain. There was one air conditioner right when you walked through the front door to the unit but only fans (and dehumidifiers) in the bedrooms. In the heat of the summer, this is a challenge. Also, in my opinion, Aura Caves would not be appropriate for anyone with mobility issues. Luggage has to be carried/pulled up a street to get to Enrik's unit (the closest thing to a front desk) and, unless you are staying in one of the two units in the same area as Enrik's unit, you will be lugging your bags up steep steps (no handrails, etc).

Enrik was excellent. We arrived late in the evening and he met us with the room key as soon as I notified him that we had arrived. He was also really helpful with suggestions for places to go (beach clubs, restaurants) and was able to provide transportation (at a very reasonable cost) to/from the beach club. Additional plus, he had a kitty named Bonnie who was too cute for words. Aura Caves is also close to the main Fira area... shops, restaurants, church, etc.

My sister and I have just returned from 4 nights at the Aura Caves. We had the Passion Cave. We were delighted with the accommodation, very quirky in a rustic authentic style... Excellent peaceful location for everything Fira offered. The caves were clean and comfortable. We didn't do any cooking, but the kitchen was fully equipped. The small, private outdoor pool was lovely, an excellent sun bathing spot. The host Enrik was very efficient in booking a catermaran sunset cruise, an evening meal at Amoudia Bay Fish Restaurant ( highly recommended)for dinner and taxing us there and back to Oia... overall a lovely experience in beautiful Santorini.

The property looks exactly like the pictures. It was very clean and a perfect location. The owner was wonderful and answered “what’s app” texts very fast. He showed us everywhere we should visit and helped carry our suitcases up the big hill. 10/10 would recommend.

We liked everything! It was amazing! If I had to name a small improvement, it would be a kettle & toaster but that's only because we're English & like our tea & toast! Not a criticism though...when in Rome!

Our three-night stay at Aura Cave in Fira was nothing short of exceptional. The property is historic and beautifully designed, offering a unique and exciting ambiance that perfectly complements the charm of Santorini. The host was outstanding, friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. Communication was seamless, and they went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, assisting with bookings for activities and tours and even offering to drive and pick us up when needed, a thoughtful gesture given the limited Uber services on the island. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a special stay in Santorini!

The only thing was one of the rooms was hotter than the other that made it a bit stuffy, but was fine when you turning the aircon.

Unique, nothing we’ve been to before, beautiful pool with a view looking over the land surounds. Great location, transport was a 8 min walk. Plenty of food choices and night life. Quite area. Hendricks was so accommodating to us, his kind nature and hospitality was greatly appreciated! Would definitely recommend anybody stay here.

It was super clean. A beautiful space, decorated with nice taste. A real cave house, we didn't need to use the air condition at all. Highly recommended. Few steps from public parking and Fira amenities.

Amazing and unique accommodation just a few steps from the busy area of Fira but very quiet and private. Rooms and beds were very comfortable, bathrooms were spacious, and though there was only one air-conditioning unit at the entrance area, the place remained relatively cool over a hot few days. The hot tub upstairs was amazing, spacious for 4 people, complete with a blue dome view, and vista over the eastern seaboard of Santorini.

The caves are a unique experience, lovely interiors, comfortable beds & a great, helpful host who went out of his way to make our stay special. We would def recommend (and happily return) Location is fantastic - walking distance to all main areas of Fira & easy access to the rest of the island by car (we rented and there was parking nearby). The host was helpful in recommending fabulous beaches, restaurants & places to visit during our stay.
