How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Verified reviewview was amazing, very good quality for the breakfast items. They were cleaning the room every day, new towels every day, shampoo and shower gel daily refill. You can ask for beach towels and umbrella, reception staff was very nice.
breakfast was kinda the same everyday, but the products were fresh. Only thing we didnt like was the coffee wich was from a Nescafe machine but overall very pleased

Verified reviewCleanliness, daily cleanup and change of towels, varied breakfast, friendly staff. Astonishing location of the hotel and great view during breakfast. As a bonus: the hotel provides beach towels and umbrella, also you can leave your luggage at the reception and use a shower in case of a flight in the evening. A slight problem with our A/C (leaking) was resolved rapidly.
Frankly speaking, there was nothing to complain about.

Verified reviewThe location was amazing the views was stunning. Staff excellent,food superb. We went for a wedding it was so beautiful and so well organised. Rooms cleaned daily with fresh towels. A short ride to beach with a towel given to you to take down. The is a fridge in the rooms this was perfect to keep your water cool. The beds so comfortable The only downside I can say is there is no pool but you can use another hotels pool a short walk up the hill. Loved it that much we are booking for next year.

Verified reviewThis hotel is so special! My partner and I stayed here for a week and had the most incredible time, I so didn’t want to leave. First off, the staff are the most friendly and helpful people we met on the island! On our first day, they took 20 minutes to sit us down with a map, and circled all the best places, beaches, restaurants etc. to visit including popular and less well-known areas. They even offered 3 tours - we opted for the turtle tour and had the most incredible day. We were picked up in a lovely Mercedes minivan with a friendly driver who took us to an olive oil factory, Keri Caves and then to our boat to Marathonisi and the Blue Caves where we saw so many turtles! The staff checked in with us pretty much every day to ask us what we’d been up to and were delighted to hear all about our adventures. They also greet you each morning at breakfast and are always at the desk ready to help, whether you need beach towels, water, or anything else! The property itself is delightful. Impeccably clean rooms, lovely views, good facilities and a really lovely homely feel. We loved sitting on our balcony and out on the terrace at breakfast, you have an incredible view of the island if you’re in a sea-facing room as the hotel is up on a hill right on the sea front. The breakfast is perfect too, a wide but not overwhelming selection of pastries, cakes, fruit, salad, cereal, eggs, meats, and juices. We would highly recommend visiting the Balcony restaurant too - the food is some of the best we found and the atmosphere outside looking over the sea is magical, especially at sunset. All in all, we absolutely loved it here. I was so upset to leave, a week at Balcony is simply not enough! We hope it continues to thrive, it deserves to!

Since I had a recent injury a walk to the beach was a little steep, but very enjoyable and fairly quick even for some one who can not walk fast.

Verified reviewOkay, we've just wrapped up our stay at the Balcony Boutique Hotel, and I wanted to give you our full personal take on it. The location is amazing. On a hill overlooking the sea, which means you get incredible panoramic views from... well, you guessed it, the balconies! The one in your room and the beautiful terrace of the hotel. It's a short drive from the main rush downtown, and even in May a rush it is, so it feels private and peaceful, but you're still very close to things when you need to head out. For us, that balance was perfect. You'll definitely want a car to get around easily, but honestly, the place and the views are worth it. Our room was modern, stylish, boutiquey. A well deserved name. It was a clean room, with a super comfortable bed. Good air conditioning and reliable Wi-Fi. And that balcony! The perfect spot for morning coffee (or an evening drink), slowly enjoying the marvelous view. The room is an experience in itself. The service was excellent. The staff were warm, welcoming, and very attentive. Their personal touch really elevated the stay. Overall, if you're looking for a peaceful, stylish escape with breathtaking views and a strong sense of personalized service, the Balcony Boutique Hotel is a good choice. It's not a crowded resort-style place. We left feeling completely pleased, which is why I didn't want to hold this comment short.
