Irini and Dimitris are great hosts. Very helpful, friendly and responsive. We felt very warmly welcomed. They shared great tips about the island and helped us with arranging the transport for us. They were also very accommodating with an early check-in and ready to answer all our questions and help where necessary! House is at a great location, having beautiful views (also great sunset views). It is very spacious. We especially enjoyed the outside area with the jacuzzi. Pirgos is great for your base location, outside of the hectic and overly touristic and overpriced Fira and Oia, but close enough to visit them, as well as the other parts of the island (e.g. the beaches).

Wish we stayed longer. Great location, very close to the bus stop and a few shops! The host met us at the bus stop to walk with us to the Villa and hand over the keys. Very spacious and clean and had all the necessary amentities. Great communication from both Hosts as well which gave a great personal touch and feel to the stay.

It is a bit of a steep walk up to the Villa, so make sure you wear comfortable shoes, but definitely worth it!

    Property response:

Thank you so much :) Happy to host you again!

Wonderful location in the swirling labyrinth of Pyrgos old town. Old style private Villa built into a former wine cellar, cool and cozy even during the heat of the Santorini summer, with a private inner courtyard and two patios facing the Kaldera and amazing sunsets. Dimitris and Eirini are wonderful and caring hosts, attentive to detail and well connected to the local community. The villa is well equipped and the kitchen facilities are handy for shorter or longer stays, there are two en-suite bedrooms, an additional bedroom and two jacuzzis, in-house and outdoors. Pyrgos is wonderfully located in the centre of the island, with great views over the surrounding landscape, nice cafes and restaurants, friendly mini-markets for everyday necessities and a local bakery. Pyrgos has an old village feel, it's not too crowded and quiets down towards the evenings, albeit the clowder of cats and occasional donkey. We walked to the neighbouring Megalochori village, the spring time giving ample possibilities to admire local nature and pick some wild horta. We also rented a Fiat from the local car rental to fully enjoy the many possibilities around Santorini and visited the faros, the monastery and the pebbled beaches.

The indoors may get a bit humid as it's an old cellar, but the coolness of the house is also comforting in the hot summer days. There are lots of stairs no matter where you walk in Pyrgos, but everything is still fairly close-by, as it's a small village. Dimitris may arrange mule transport for the heavy luggage, if needed. We got everything we needed from the local providers, and there is a great selection of local wines for fairly reasonable prices in Brusco and the mini-markets. During the night-time the neighbourhood is run by cats ...

The cave charm and Greek decor were so great. We loved the size of the place and wonderful outdoor areas to sun bathe or watch sunset. Breakfast was fantastic! Different every day and prepared in the courtyard kitchen. The host went above and beyond to accomodate and make sure we have everything we need. Internet was great for remote work plus lots of space for family stay. 3 rooms to pick from.

The bed, was very hard for our liking and the outdoor tub we couldn't fill in because hot water ran out, so that was awkward. The jets also had an interesting location, perhaps little too low. To get to the place you have to walk uphill for 5min, I definitely got winded, it's pretty hard to walk up with suitcases.

Incredible view Very charming accommodations Indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis Host was attentive and available Huge breakfast, very tasty

Nothing Be aware that you can't drive to the apartment to unload luggage. Your host meets you in the town square and takes you up through some lane-ways to get to it. If you have a lot of luggage, he will arrange a donkey to bring it up.

Alex (our host) was AMAZING! He went above and beyond before we even got there. He helped us to coordinate transportation from the airport to the villa, also a spectacular couple massage (MUST DO for honeymooners specially if you have been on the road in other places!) and BREAKFAST!! Breakfast was AMAZING!! All local greek food in your terrace every morning! We will recommend this place and definitely come back. It is private, quiet, sunset views are spectacular from the terrace. You can get some good local wine, snacks and enjoy from your 180 view. Wifi is perfect, the hot tubs are phenomenal. It is the details like our unexpected honeymoon gift that makes the difference in an experience! Be aware Santorini is a lot of walking and Pyrgos is not the exception. Take your time with the stairs to get to the villa and use comfortable shoes but the walk comes with a reward - The viewwww from your villa. You have options to rent 4wheel (as we did), or car and explore Fira, Oia, etc.

    Everything was perfect!

it is located in Pyrgos which is the least crowded and oldest part of the island. The rows of villas were built into the side of a hill creating a cave effect to the property. Our host, Alex, was very friendly and accommodating to or needs and made a delicious breakfast for us each morning.

if you don’t mind walking through a maze of cobblestone terraced steps to get to your villa, then we had no complaints.
