How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewIf you're travelling alone this is not the accomodation for you! The security of this place is subpar I had to leave after night one as I did not feel safe as a solo traveller. It was right next to a busy road I could hear everything and it would have been very easy for someone to break in. You're better off booking a hotel room which is secure. Also, wifi and power went out a couple of times.

We’d like to kindly clarify a few points for accuracy. On the morning after your first night, you spoke with our staff and mentioned everything was fine — even saying you were going to meet some friends. At no point did you raise any concerns about safety or discomfort. Had you shared your worries with us, we would have done our best to find a solution immediately. In our 16 years of operation, we have never experienced any break-ins or serious safety issues. The property is monitored closely — our beach bar is open 18–20 hours a day, and during the night we have a professional security guard on-site. The location is indeed near a main road, like many properties in Laganas, which is a lively and busy resort area not typically suited for guests seeking a quiet or secluded environment. As a solo traveler, we understand that safety is a top priority — and we respectfully suggest that when booking accommodation, it’s important to consider not only the room but also the overall character of the destination. Open communication is key: if something doesn’t feel right, please let the staff know immediately, rather than saying everything is okay. We are here to help, and we truly would have done everything we could to ease your concerns from the very beginning. We wish you safe and pleasant travels in the future. Verified reviewThank you for the wonderful stay! We really enjoyed our time here. The beach bar was definitely a highlight – we felt very comfortable there, unlike in other bars. The rooms were clean and tidy. At the beach bar you also get 10% off everything, which was a nice surprise. The staff are very friendly, welcoming, and always helpful, which made our stay even more pleasant. A small tip: if you want to get a sunbed on the beach, make sure to be there before 11:00 am. We also really appreciated that the hotel provides beach towels. All in all, it was a lovely holiday – we would definitely come back!
The only small downside is that cleaning is done every three days. However, there was a broom provided outside, which we used ourselves – I hope that was okay.

Verified reviewThe location and the sea view beach bar. The parking is free and the location is great for the nightlife. There are several markets nearby. The beach is beautiful and we recommend the Turtle Island boat trip organized by the accommodation. We saw turtles! Food is great, I had the best gyros pita of the island.
The rooms don’t have a sea view, and many party-goers tend to stay here. Privacy is limited, as all the room entrances are located along a shared pergola with no dividers. If you leave your door open, other guests will frequently pass by on their way to their own rooms

The room does not have a proper door and window. Everywhere is full of unnecessary items. towels are dirty. location sucks

Our cleaning lady works so hard with the cleanliness due to strict rules regarding the disinfection in our hotel. Some guests take their towels at the beach, and the sunscreen leaves marks on the towels, that's why we offer only bath towels and not beach towels.The towels each guest receives are washed, I guarantee, fresh and clean. However I would like to apologize for the towels you received because you mentioned they were not clean. If you let us know, we would bring you new ones immediately! Nothing like the pictures. We booked a sea view room with no sea view. Bed very uncomfortable, felt like hard springs. 1 tiny glazed window. Out-dated. Garden looked like a cemetery. It is advertised with the perception it's all together with the beach bar but it's not. We arrived about 1030pm after 37 hours of travel and we left and found another hotel... no refund or anything, that's how disappointing it was. We feel scammed.

Verified reviewThe location was fantastic. Having the beach bar, loungers and beach next door was a big plus. This time of year (mid October) it was quiet at night. Parking was good and the hotel offered a good base to explore the island.

Verified reviewWalking distance from the beach, clean airy rooms with good facilities (fresh fruit and water provided) . At the time of our stay Guests got a welcome drink and discounts at the Cubaneros Beach Bar. Staff were really friendly and accommodating when we decided we wanted to stay an extra night.
The hot water in the shower took a long time to kick in- but wasn’t too much of an issue as the weather was very warm during our stay.

Verified reviewCubaneros was such a vibe. The hotel room was 2 minutes walk to the beach club/ beach. Rooms are comfortable size, well decorated, clean and very convenient to the beach. I spent most of the days at the beach club relaxing by the water, they provide comfortable chairs/table for guests, food was sooo good, the drinks were yummy, I was obsessed with the passionfruit mojito. The owner and his sister were the best hosts, very attentive, helpful and make you feel like a family. Staffs were all around very kind, I would want to go back again to Cubaneros. 20/10

Verified reviewEverything in one place, rooms were clean and quiet, right across the beach. Access to the sun beds, food and drinks in the beach bar with discount for hotel guests. Excellent service. They even offered a boat ride from the beach, that was our best experience. Central location, very nice people, would come back any time.
I wish they had kitchen sink so we could wash our cups. Still, it was ok since the cleaning lady was washing them every day at the same time she was cleaning the room.
