How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Tiny room, street noise and lights all night. TV didn't work, check in wasn't flexible as they needed to let you in and no-one is onsite. Really steep stairs so luggage was a problem and in the room it was so small you could only open suitcase on the bed!
Dear Robert Regarding the stairs, they are quite typical for a neoclassical,listed building. if you felt the space was limited you could have booked a larger room in our hotel , especially since the actual room size is clearly visible in our Booking.com photos. As for the city lights your room is equipped with shutters which when closed provide complete blackout.The TV in your room is brand new and if you had difficulty in operating it, you could have simply asked for our assistance. The property's window frames are modern and ensure excellent sound insulation, particularly for a tourist city centre like ours. Despite these points we are still at your disposal to host you again and with our assistance ensure you have an unforgettable experience at our accommodation.

Verified reviewThe apartment was in a prime location close to restaurants and shops. Our room was large and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small but met our needs. We had a patio that was private and very nice. There were tasty homemade cookies in our room when we arrived. We were on an upper floor and we used the stairs--I do not know if there is an elevator. The host was wonderful--very kind and helpful with recommendations. She provided us with lemonade when we returned from a walk around town. They allowed us to keep our luggage there after we checked out. There is no parking on-site, but we had no problem finding parking at the port, which is where they recommended. It was only a 5-7 minute walk away.

Verified reviewI had a wonderful stay at Denae Hotel. The room was very functional and modern with a lovely balcony to relax on. The hotel is conveniently located in the old town, close to restaurants and shops and to the local beach. What really sets Denae apart is the hosts Veny and Chara who are absolutely lovely and go out of their way to make your stay in Nafplio exceptional.

Verified reviewThe ladies that run this hotel are the true asset. Warm, pure and helpful. You feel right af home! The rooms are also very comfortable, with nice beds and sufficient space for all the things you need in a room. I had the room with a front balcony. Very nice to enjoy the street life in morning and evening as it is very centrally located. The windows isolate very well, because once closed it is nicely silent. Big recommendation!!

Verified reviewWe had an awesome stay! The lady is extremely nice, makes you feel incredibly welcome and helps you whenever you need anything. The location of the Hotel is perfect - directly in the center of Nafplio with everything in walking distance (also great free parkings in the harbour), but in a quiet street. It is quite small and personal and the rooms are clean and modern. I would definitely recommend Danae Hotel!

Verified reviewDanae hotel is ideally located in the heart of Nafplio's charming old town, with easy access to all the city's attractions. Although parking was easy and nearby, we did not need the car during our stay as everything was within walking distance. The hotel has a tasteful simplicity and relaxing luxury, super comfortable beds, spacious rooms and bathrooms. It was truly a pleasure to meet the hotel's owners, who were always present and attentive. Their warm and genuine hospitality made us feel at home.

Anna and her mother make you feel at home right away. I would have loved to stay longer, but there is just so much to see in the area... Anna speaks perfect English and went out of her way to get me loads of extra information when I had a question- THANK YOU!
