How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location is central, with a beautiful view of the harbour. The moment we stepped out of the ferry, we entered the hotel, 2 metres from the entrance. Mr Giorgos is extremely friendly, always checking in on us making sure we are alright. They also offer beach towels for free.
The bathroom is super small. Not very comfortable to take a shower…

Verified reviewGood position and balconi overlooking the port . Good aircondinioning .
Cheap pillows . Common coffee area not well kept and poorly stocked , also too hot and not conditioned . Common areas not very clean . Found the standard very low for such an expensive stay . Should be half the price it is . So very poor value at 270 per night . Overall would be OK as a student hang out

Verified reviewLocation
Not convenient to elderly visitors, no assistance with luggage, had to climb stairs and no other option or facility like lifts. Sink is in the bedroom not in bathroom!! Can be noisy if given a room overlooking the port.

Verified reviewThe retro feel of the room, love the original features and the charm. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. The view was amazing
The noise from the ferry. You get the view, you get the boat sounds. Bring ear plugs

Verified reviewGeorgios our host was always practical, helpful and kind. There’s a rather daunting flight of steps at the entrance and he was happy to summon his son to assist with luggage, up and down. The view across the port from the balcony room was wonderful; always something fascinating coming or going. Staying there, you felt like part of the fabric of the port.
My stay could have been longer. The frenetic morning bells from the clock tower could have been shorter.

Verified reviewWe loved the Hotel Delfini! It is immediately visible on the quayside if you come by ferry, making it very easy with luggage, though there are steps up to the hotel, but a young man from the hotel carried them up for us. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. My husband, son and I stayed in a triple room which was spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. The hotel is perfectly located in Hydra to explore the shops and restaurants, get a little boat to one of the beaches for the day, or swim off rocks in the evening. You can also hang your wet swimming stuff on a washing line at the back, which is handy. Would also recommend the cafe immediately in front for breakfast in the morning (very good value) or ice creams later). The hotel is also very good value.
Not all rooms have a harbour view (ours didn’t) but that didn’t matter as you can step out onto the harbour anyway. Also there is a view from the first floor terrace where you can make tea and coffee (no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, which again was not a problem).

Verified reviewCould a hotel be any sweeter or better located? We stepped off the ferry and were inside the hotel in less than a minute—literally! Yorgos welcomed us with a warm smile and was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. The hotel has a charming, authentic vibe and is perfectly situated right by the port. The beauty of the island, the cicadas singing, and the peaceful atmosphere made us feel like we could spend the whole summer here. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!
Nothing to dislike.

Verified reviewOur stay had both highlights and drawbacks. On the positive side, the location was superb, right near the port, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the area. The view from the balcony was absolutely spectacular, and the balcony space itself was a real highlight. George was wonderful, warm, helpful, and assisted us with our luggage, which we really appreciated. Coffee, juice, and snacks were provided, which was a nice touch, though we preferred grabbing our coffee from the café just downstairs.
The room itself was quite tired-looking and in need of refurbishment. The furnishings felt shabby, and the space was small and not very comfortable. The bedside drawers were hard to open, and the shower was extremely small and leaked, which made it difficult to use. Overall, the location and hospitality were excellent, but the room could definitely benefit from some updating and maintenance to match the experience outside its walls.
