How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

What isn’t at all clear is that the hotel is separately run to the pool and restaurant. The pool is available for use but not the sunloungers by the pool unless you agree to a ridiculous minimum spend. There are 6 sunbeds that are free, with a towel grab every morning (see photo). Lunchtime food and drinks very expensive (32€ for a mini burger). So essentially you end up with a pool and bar that’s lovely to look at, but at least for our family of 4, was totally unusable. Staff tried to address the issue professionally but management should be so much clearer as it detracts significantly from the experience.

Verified reviewGorgeous hotel, on a great location with in our opinion the best view of the island, overlooking the caldera all the way up to Fira. The area is quiet and away from the busy towns on the island, while still easily reachable. The pool area is great, food quality perfect but what stood out the most was the people. Especially Giannis at the pool bar went out of his way to give us everything we needed and made our trip special.
A few things disappointed us a bit: - the biggest one was the minimum spend at the pool sunbeds. Only a few are free and they are taken most days. The others have a €125 or €75 minimum spend (and that’s apparently a 50% discount because you’re staying in the hotel). We feel that if you spend a few hundred euros per night for your room, usage of the pool should be included, no matter how much you want to spend on food and drinks. - the curtains in the room are too small for the window, meaning it never got really dark. - the music in the restaurant at night was just a bit too loud to not hear it in the room.

Located in a quiet secluded area, the hotel gives a perfect opportunity to relax. Beautiful design of the whole place, our room was huge and very comfortable. Unforgettable sunsets on a hill just right next to the hotel, nobody around, just you, the sea and the sun.

My only negative comment is that in the evening there was loud music playing from the restaurant until 00:30-01:00. Way too late and without consideration for the hotel guests. This also affects the overall review.

Verified reviewEverything was perfect. Staff (from the receptions girls, as well as restaurant staff and cleaning staff) were amazing and always ready to answer our questions. Our bedroom was really beautiful and comfortable featuring a nice hot tub. In terms of location you will need to get transportation to get into the town as the hotel is far from the main attractions. However, that’s what we wanted so we could relax and be far from the crowd and only rented a moto4 for a day to explore the island, which is enough. Hotel can get a shuttle from/to the Port/Airport and we can rent car/motorbike/moto4 directly with the hotel and the company will bring the vehicle into the hotel. Breakfast was really good and tasty. Overall experience in the good was great and we will definitely comeback if we could. Thank you to the hotel and the staff. Note: The hotel has a franchise in Gili, Bali (Indonesia) and we are looking to stay there whenever we go visit home!
Breakfast took an hour to be served so we waited too long but it’s not a big issue. The view from the restaurant/breakfast area is breathtaking so we enjoyed the view while waiting.

Verified reviewThe location is spectacular, great views, lovely pool with comfortable sun beds, quiet, not crowded. Everything is premium, the service, super friendly and welcoming staff, the food is on the expensive side but worth it, the quality is on top. We had dinner at the sushi restaurant and it was exceptional, very good value for money and they also had omakase menu (do not miss it).

Verified reviewWe had the best of stays. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The lady’s at reception were outstanding helping to make our stay the best. The guy at breakfast was on the ball and could do to much for you. The cleaning staff seemed to time cleaning your room whilst you were at breakfast so you weren’t disrupted. The hotel was very well presented,quiet, clean, relaxing. Food and service were excellent.
In the quiet end of the island which was nice but transport is recommended to get out and about.

The restaurant at the pool is overpriced (20+€ cocktails and 25€ dessert) and stops serving pool snacks at 3pm, after that, you need to order from their dinner menu.

From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and always had a smile on their faces. Their hospitality truly made the stay feel special. The breakfast each morning was fresh, varied, and delicious – a perfect start to the day. The facilities are top-notch, clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. If youre worried about the distance from fira and main island, i will reassure you and tell that we had a scooter and the journey between the hotel and oia took 30 minutes ride. Overall, everything exceeded my expectations. I had a great stay and would definitely return.
