As it is an old property, there are lots of stairs, and no lift, which may be problematic for people with mobility issues or large luggage. My bathroom window didn't have a blind.

Lovely characterful Guesthouse in a brilliant location for the ferry and for Hydra Old Town. I loved the balcony overlooking the cathedral and the harbour. Comfy bed. The room had a little bit of luxury about its decor. The breakfast on the roof terrace at sister hotel, Douskos Port House was a fantastic start to the day. The view is beautiful!

Nothing. I had to add one night to my stay in Hydra (because of Air Canada) and it was the only place available. No cheap, but amazing.

Unfortunately our aircon stopped working in the middle of the night, which made the sleep uncomfortable.

Great location, right by the port. Angeliki was extremely nice and helpful with giving us directions and tips on what to do on Hydra. The included breakfast was lovely and served on a fantastic terrace a short walk from the accommodation.

The front facing room was great, but the bedroom remained very hot through the night despite the a/c.

The upstairs bed will be an issue for older people that are not that mobile. Quite a few wall fixtures coming loose.

Bed was a little uncomfortable and the bathroom cramped. Other than that, well appointed simple rooms and powerful air conditioning!

The property is very centrally located and easy to get to. The staff was very helpful to check us in. The rooms had powerful AC, which was helpful for July Hydra heat. We had the breakfast every morning and appreciated the kindness and hospitality of the staff.

The bed is not very comfortable. A little too hard for me. Pillows were good.

Location was amazing. Barely uphill so super easy to walk from the ferry with suitcases. Great AC which really helped to take breaks during the hot day. Lovely views and the Staff was next level wonderful. Breakfast provided at the sister hotel was better than I expected.

There isn't anything to hang your wet towels after having a shower and we had to take the chars outside to dry. We recommend adding a small type of rack or something so guests can hang the towels and/or beach towels, swimsuits etc.

The rooms were big and comfortable. We had clean towels and beach towels every day. The staff was very friendly and accommodative to our needs. Breakfast was decent with a menu with a variety of options to choose from. Also a great view from the breakfast terrace.

Perfect location close to the town square, so no need to drag luggage up many flights of stairs. The breakfast included is a pleasant surprise, especially the view at the upstairs terrace a few buildings away. The receptionist was super friendly and gave us great recommendations for the few days we were there.

Our initial room? #1 had a mezzanine floor/bedroom. Steep stairs and low ceiling was not great for my husband who is 6’3’m. We moved to a better room for 2 of our 3 nights.

The stairs were steep to our room and to the Douskos Port House but --this is Hydra! Just take it slow if you are old like us!

Angeliki was a wonderful contact for the hotel. We kept in touch via What's App before arriving in Hydra. Then she welcomed us warmly and clearly explained the logistics of staying at Douskos Guest House. Throughout our stay she made us welcome and answered all our travel questions. She is a gem! Starting the days with breakfast at the Douskos Port House was delightful. Excellent chef and amazing view!
