How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewBeautiful place, great Hotel! Staff great, wonderful pool. Breakfast is a banquet!
They charge for the sun bed at the beach, which for a beach hotel is strange. This is not a cheap hotel, it should be included in the price for the comfort of the guests.

Verified reviewNaxos is small and nothing is more than a 10-15 minute drive. That’s why we prioritized staying at a beautiful property directly on the beach. The private villas are fantastic - spacious, private, and kids love the private pool - perfect for our family trip. The management is top notch. The manager is extremely customer centric and provides excellent recommendations - like booking a private boat tour, dining, etc. I wouldn’t be surprised if this property commands $1K a night in the near future. We are very happy we rented a car. We would have been extremely stressed and claustrophobic if we had stayed in Naxos proper, where cars and motorcycles zoom inches past you on congested roads anytime you step outside. Pro tip - rent with Eurocar and use their free parking lot near Naxos center to nab great parking when you explore town.
I would stay here again. The property is great.

Verified reviewWe stayed at Sundunes in Naxos and loved everything about it! The place is perfectly located, just a short walk from the beach, and has such a relaxed, peaceful atmosphere. The breakfasts were delicious and a real highlight of our mornings. The staff were all very kind and helpful – special thanks to Nasos, who looked after us and made our stay even more enjoyable. His warm and friendly attitude really stood out. Sundunes is the perfect spot to unwind by the sea, and we would happily come back again. Highly recommended!

The food and the dining options could be improved, but since this was the first year they were opened, I assume this will get better.

Verified reviewThis place is fantastic. We flew from Melbourne to Naxos for a wedding in August '25 and from the moment we arrived we were so well taken care of by Nasos (the manager) and his wonderful team. It's like Sundunes found the best resort manager on the island and allowed him to hire the best staff from every other hotel. The facilities, food and accommodation are all excellent. Even the small things were no trouble, for example we decided to hire a car and did some research which showed that a lot of visitors to the island had had really bad experiences so we called the front desk and they got us a great little car the next day, delivered right to the hotel. Another example, from breakfast time, I'm gluten intolerant, 'no problem sir we have gluten free bread'. This may not seem much but it made my day and if you've been to Greece you'll know it can be hard to find gluten free foods. Honestly we couldn't recommend a place more highly, it's quiet, friendly, delicious breakfasts and equally tasty room service, great views...it's away from all the hustle and bustle and with great beach across the road - book here - you won't regret it!
Honestly there was nothing we didn't like, the place is spotless, pretty much brand new, and did I mention the wonderful staff?! The only thing I didn't like was that we had to leave Sundunes to head home!!

Verified reviewThis is a really beautiful hotel. Our room was enormous and beautifully appointed. The pool is glorious, perfect for lounging by. The breakfast each morning is fresh and plentiful and the new rooftop restaurant is first class.
If I had to name just one thing, a slightly more extensive small snack menu for the pool bar would be super.

Verified reviewWe had an absolutely wonderful time at Sundunes. The property is stunning, tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, and ideally located just a few steps from Plaka beach – one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. The setting is peaceful and relaxing, perfect for unwinding and soaking in the beauty of Naxos. A huge thank you to the entire team, spécial mention to Nasos, for their warm hospitality and constant attention to detail. From the moment we arrived until our departure, everything was taken care of with kindness and professionalism. The homemade breakfasts by the pool were delicious, varied, and made with fresh local ingredients. Our room was spacious, bright, and perfectly equipped, with a private terrace ideal for enjoying sunsets. Every detail is designed for the comfort and well-being of the guests. We would 100% recommend Sundunes, whether you’re traveling as a couple, with family, or with friends. A true hidden gem! We can’t wait to come back 💙
