1. the restaurant takes up the entire front portion of the beach and setting. The beach is to the right and left. 2. The food is awful. I grilled octopus that was inedible. I tried to send it back with no success. The Greek salad as another table looked ok. Why not have a kitchen that is experimental and elegant to fit the price of the hotel. The hotel requires transport form the town. They do have a dependable shuttle but its something to think about.

The gardens are wonderful. Having a private sun porch. The staff is so attentive and lovely. A stool should be substituted for by a chair. It s not set up for writing which it should be why not.

The staff was always very friendly and helpful, but from one experience we had with one of them. When we asked what they would suggest for us to see in the town, maybe some gallery or museu, the reply was super negative and that we should enjoy the beach, like my question would be some absurd thought. I insisted, saying that I knew the island was known for its artsy side, but again another negative and that I should just go to the beach. As much as I did enjoy the beach, it was not all I wanted to see and exactly why I had chosen Hydra! I never had seen someone so dismissive and bordeline rude to a guest asking for local advice. I know what I want to see and do, this interaction was really something I'd never experienced before.

The experience at the hotel was very good. They greet you at the port and there is a boat shuttle to take you to and from the hotel every 15 or 30 minutes. As we wanted to explore the city, but also have a beach experience, this hotel was a good choice. Their beach service is great as well as the restaurant by the sea. The room had a big varanda and it was big and very comfortable.

We chose the Amercian Breakfast which was average. The room rate was high.

The location is good. There is a boat to ship the luggage to the hotel. We had dinner in the restaurant which was delicous and good value for money. The beach was good and relaxing. The sunset was gorgeous

I really loved that Anna met us at the dock when the private boat transfer arrived and welcomed us. That set the tone For our anniversary stay. I also love the fact that our beach chairs were already reserved and waiting us. The staff was exceptionally accommodating for everything that we asked for. I loved our room with private porch with sea view. I honestly can say that this was a great experience .I wish we had stayed longer. Anna thank you so much for your hospitality, I really appreciate you accommodating us. The young man at the beach was also very polite and helpful. Everyone was just so pleasant and helpful. Yes, and the sunset at dinner time is fantastic!

the bed in our villa was queen size and not very comfortable and neither the pillows. They should have a pier out to sea with a ladder as access into the sea is tricky.

Disappointed to find certain 'facilities' unavailable because of season end eg canoes/paddle boards The rate charged was clearly excessive for an end of season booking - as evidenced by the 50% discount offered for a second night !

Mind out for sea anenomes when swimming in the ocean - there are designated swimming areas but still hard to avoid these critters in the hot summer months.

Stunning boutique luxury hotel reachable only by boat on the beautiful island of Hydra. Attentive staff, beautiful grounds and a fabulous taverna style restaurant with sunset views to die for! There is a water taxi shuttle every half an hour that will take you to the main port town that runs until late evening, where times extend to every hour instead of every half hour. Some of the most beautiful views I've ever seen.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Four Seasons Hydra. The location was lovely, quiet and remote. The staff were exceptional and made us feel very welcome. We loved the food, our beautiful room with a sea view, spending time at the beach and the beautiful walks into Hydra. The water taxi was also great fun. Thanks to everyone at Four Seasons for a memorable experience, definitely recommend it, we will be back.
