How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We are very sorry for the impression you got from your stay at our hotel. Regarding your request for coffee at 06:00 in the morning, we explained to you that the bar is not open during these hours and you can be served at the breakfast buffet that opens at 07:30. Regarding the operation of our hotel, it is not newly built. It has been operating since 1979. just about everything and the dog owners dog biteing my cousin on the leg was disgusting.
As for our breakfast, it may not have been to your taste, but it is enjoyable for hundreds of customers. Our dog is not a toy. If you approached him, he might have been afraid of you. It would have been good if you had mentioned to us during your stay all the things you wrote. We kindly ask that you contact us in order to tell us what troubled you with the breakfast so that we can make any corrections possible based on your observations. Verified reviewGreat location. Comfortable with classic style. Kind staff and very nice breakfast.
Some people have commented negatively about the animals on the property (cats/dogs outside). We have family members very allergic to cats, etc. but had no issues with anything in the hotel or with the birds in the cage (our son liked these). If you a hotel without seeing any animals, fair enough. Yes some of the property is showing its age but we enjoyed the still elegant marble lobby, etc. and the rooms are still comfortable and just fine. We had a great meal at a family run pizza place around the corner (Pizzaria Il Porto). Perfect location for catching/returning on the ferry.

Verified reviewThe location (being close to the ferry) is great. It’s just a 5 minute walk. Very welcoming and breakfast was included.
It is close to the ferry terminal but that means ALL the ferry traffic passes by. Lots of trucks! The double glazing was a huge help.

I would say that We only liked the location in terms of two minutes walk to the port for catching the ferry and the parking . Everything else is just strange and poor. I will start with cats and cats smell everywhere, plus who ever keep birds in the cells in the hotel ????? The odor is awful, they trying to adjust it by using cheap air freshener, but it doesn’t work, because there is old carpet everywhere !!! And I guess its ok to smoke in the hotel. So if you allergic never go there.

Old, smelly carpets everywhere that the owners masked with penetrating perfumes everywhere. This place is creepy.

We recommend that if you had such problems as you describe, you report them to the reception during your stay and not only through comments after departure.
