How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Would have loved the snack bar to be open a bit later so we could have had food at the hotel a few times. Excellent food!

Verified reviewSpotlessly clean. 2 beautiful pools. Plenty of sun loungers. The staff were so lovely, helpful. The breakfast was really good. Plenty of choice and plenty of it. Great central location, near the beach, the shops, lots of restaurants. We loved Kamari and would defo go back to Hippocampus.

Verified reviewThe staff are very friendly and helpful. Tasty breakfast with a variety of foods, including freshly baked cakes and pastries. Beautiful pools and the whole hotel is kept very clean. The cleaners and reception team do an amazing job. Drinks and food around the pool are very reasonably priced, definitely recommend the club sandwich. The location is pretty much the middle of the long strip. It is just off the strip too which is a bonus. There are many bars and restaurants and mini-markets too right next door. We have now stayed two years and would return again.
The pillows are very hard. Health and safety measures and procedures need attention regarding the pool ladders. One set was eventually getting repaired but was not taped off and another set are very very loose and wobbly when being used. We felt unsafe using them.

Verified reviewLoved everything , the location was excellent, close to the ocean walk with all the bars and restaurants. The staff were fantastic, so helpful. The pool was great. The rooms were very clean and comfy. We stayed for a week with family of all ages from 6 to 80, and everyone enjoyed their stay. We would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

Verified reviewThe hotel was perfect for our vacation, and we liked it very much! Great location, very close to the beach and lots of restaurants, shops, pharmacy and other services. The hotel was family-style, cute and inviting, not large and overcrowded, had very clean 2 pools and facilities. Rooms were nice size, with balconies. We were treated to a nice delicious breakfast including pastries and fruit that varied daily, coffee, tea, a variety of different milk options. The bar/kitchen service was available throughout the day. Staff, some of them might have been the owners, were exceptionally helpful and nice, we felt like among friends. We had to go to a local hospital in the middle of the night, and the guy at reception was so nice to not only call taxi for us and explain everything to the driver, but also to make sure we have all the necessary information to get back to the hotel. Some customers seemed to be returning year after year which tells a lot about the vibe at this hotel. I would definitely go back. Tip for those with a sweet tooth: try Erotokritos bakery. It's about 10 min walk from the hotel, but their baklava is one of the best I've tried, and I'm a big fan :) There are smoothies, ice cream and lunch options available as well. The best dinner outside the hotel was at Fistikies nearby the bakery, reservation might be needed.

The rooms were clean, the grounds are absolutely immaculate and you get to witness each day the hard work the staff put in to keep it that way. The breakfast was always a highlight of the day! Great choice, quality ingredients. There was a rainstorm while we were there and it caused a lot of mess for the groundskeeper but he worked tirelessly to get it back to the high standard it was on a good day. The pools were lovely. I cannot WAIT to come back. Bonus for me was the cat Pantheras who also made us so welcome

Loved my room and hot tub and the staff were great, friendly, and very helpful. The pool was brilliant cleaned early in the morning if you wanted to swim. Verified reviewGreat location, about 100 meters from Black beach. A large number of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and touristic businesses nearby. The hotel has two outdoor swimming pools, one smaller and the other quite deep and spacious. Large spacious rooms with balconies. The most important - very wonderful staff. Very friendly, very attentive. We had many different requests, and all our requests were fulfilled quickly and efficiently. Highly recommend.

Verified reviewGreat location, nice breakfasts, lovely chilled pool area with a good size pool. The barman Adonis was really friendly and helpful. The layout of the 2 bedroomed apartment was a little strange but it had a really nice balcony which was quite private due to being surrounded with plants and trees.
The sun beds were very comfortable but needed a good clean.
