How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIt was clean, and except for the safe lock, all facilities were in good condition. Good value for money.
It was noisy, and the window was not soundproof. We never saw a receptionist or manager in person, only the cleaning staff. We asked to have the safe lock fixed, but instead of resolving the issue, we were just offered a room key and never received a proper reply. The food was not great and the options were limited.

Verified reviewThe room was fine and large
Location was bad. It’s located at a very short street that had 6 brothel in operation 24 hours/day. Noisy and felt unsafe in the neighborhood. It was in the center of town where you can walk but in an undesirable location. Every taxi we used to the property warned us not to venture around the neighborhood, to be careful.

Verified reviewThe hotel is new and clean. the rroms are very large. Entry to the hotel is with a code. inside the hotel is nice.
The neighborhood is full of brothels. not a nice location to stay with family. Scary at night. young guys pass by the hotel at night in and out of brothels. The hotel is next to main street and it is noisy.

Verified reviewClean, easy to access, and confortable
Very noisy, the neighboring building has a rooster and it started making noise at 5:30am. It’s also not a great location, felt unsafe to go out alone at night.

Verified reviewNice, clean and comfortable room. Close to metro station.
There is no reception, everything is done remotely and their system are always facing issues that causes stress. If you want a stress less stay go somewhere else. Breakfast you have to book online and even though we booked for 8 am we got it 9 am causing delay in our appointments in the city.

Verified reviewVery comfortable room, good size with great bathroom and aircon. Conveniently close to metro and bakery and a short walk to the plaka district. Very friendly receptionist and happy to oblige. Nice rooftop space to enjoy the views.
Rooms are a little noisy as the suites back onto a busy street. Air plugs were provided which was a nice touch.

Verified reviewA very nice spacious apartment which was very clean and comfortable. The roof garden has an excellent view of the Acropolis although there's no bar or other facilities. Good restaurants are nearby next to the entrance to the Wyndham hotel, If you want an excellent roof terrace with a restaurant and a bar the Stanley hotel has one open to non-residents. There are no restaurant facilities onsite, instead there's a QR code to a food service and meals including breakfast are delivered although the room didn't have a table or cutlery (disposable cutlery is delivered). If your room includes breakfast you get an allowance of 12 Euros per person, the breakfast items we had included a fruit salad, eggs and omelets and were quite acceptable.
As other reviews have mentioned the location isn't ideal as although its only 200m from some big name hotels its on the edge of a red light area, you can avoid this by using the main street but there were still dodgy characters hanging around. I would say female travellers especially solo should go elsewhere.

Verified reviewReally comfortable and nicely private. But the reception staff and driver were absolutely exceptional. Reception staff friendly, helpful and professional. The driver waited for 1 1/2h while I dealt with baggage reclaim at 1 30am-3am and then drove me to a pharmacy to buy contact lens solution because my suitcase was delayed at no extra cost! Good bathroom and shower. Room cleaned and new towels every day. Quiet and good air con. Good fridge and coffee making facilities. Great view of Parthenon from roof terrace. Near interesting restaurants and great connections to places of interest and airport via metro.

Verified reviewI love the way the staff was exceptionally helpful and polite with letting us know where places were to eat and take the metro to go sightseeing instead of a taxi every where. We saved money by taking the nearby metro. The restaurant that one of the staff members recommended and made reservations for us was very good!
Although clean the room was hot and uncomfortable when we got there. It was already hot outside so it would’ve been nice to come to a cool room after first day of arrival. The bed was hard and I wasn’t really able to sleep with the rooster crowing at 3am every morning. I guess that’s why the earplugs were on the nightstand. When you would run the water in the shower it would feel up like a bath tub so it needed a plumber. I informed the staff but it never got fixed during our stay there.
Dear Holly , thank you for your recent stay in our premises. We are really happy to receive your feedback and the fact that our staff were able to make you comfortable and enjoy your stay. For your other issues mentioned we will take all necessary actions so we can see their reason.
