Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBreakfast could be improved with more variety and warmer options.
My room was exactly as shown in the pictures, very clean and well-kept. It had a smart TV, which allowed us to watch Netflix 😉, and a balcony with sunbeds offering beautiful views of both the pool and the sea. The included breakfast was also a thoughtful touch and added to the overall experience.

ItalyPosition in Argasi is perfect for moving to the most beautiful beaches and places around Zante. The hotel position offers a wonderful view and breath-taking sunsets. The personnel is kind, always available and smiling. The room was perfect for us as a couple; the design and colours are super relaxing; a corner with a kettle and a coffee machine is also available; the swimming pool is a plus and it’s always clean and never crowded. We found the hotel a magic place to live our 10 days vacation!

United KingdomThe pool closed quite early.. it would have been nice for it to be open a bit longer but appreciate that it’s next to dinner tables, so not sure how this would have worked in reality. Wasps! Although they can’t be helped.
All staff were very friendly and made our stay relaxing and happy. View from our balcony was lovely!

United KingdomLongish walk into town but only because the location of the hotel was quiet with excellent views - we did not want to be central in Argasi.
Excellent view with sunsets. Excellent staff. Lovely pool and facilities. Very good breakfasts. Staff very helpful at booking reservations for dinner. Reserved the biggest rooms with sea view - superb. Excellent views for drinks after dinner. Would happily return. Really peaceful away from the town centre.

Romania- The opening hours of the pool - after 7-8PM the pool was closed and this is a pity as the pool was great but during the day I prefer to visit the island - The rooms are quite compact, with the sink in the room rather than the bathroom and there wasn't a lot of storage for clothes. - Pretty good breakfast, but just gets very repetitive if you stay longer than 3 days
- The view from our room was fantastic (booked a room with sea view) - The staff were very friendly - Spotlessly clean and well maintained - Free parking

United KingdomHonestly, not much to mention! If I had to pick something, the scrambled eggs at breakfast weren’t my favourite – they felt slightly undercooked for my taste and could use a bit of butter for extra flavour. Also, the lunch menu was quite basic with limited options, so a bit more variety there would be great.
I had the best time at Ionian Hill Hotel! So many people told me to stay in Laganas, saying it’s the best location — but no no no — I absolutely fell in love with Argassi. I can’t recommend it enough! The hotel has beautiful sea and pool views, and the surroundings are so peaceful and relaxing. The staff were incredible – warm, welcoming, and always ready to help. They made the best Aperol Spritz, and the breakfast was lovely too, with a wide selection of pastries, fruits, and bakery items. (The eggs weren’t my favourite, but everything else was delicious!) My room was clean and comfy, and I really appreciated being given one with a pool and sea view – such a kind gesture. I even celebrated my birthday there, and they surprised me with a bottle of wine, which was so thoughtful and made my stay even more special. Overall, I felt genuinely looked after and at home. If you’re visiting Zakynthos, skip Laganas – stay here instead. Thank you to everyone at Ionian Hill for such an amazing stay! 💛

United KingdomThis hotel was absolutely wonderful from booking to check out this morning. Everything was perfect, attentive but not overbearing friendly staff, spotlessly clean and well maintained and in a fabulous location, overlooking the bay and the most stunning sunsets. The food at breakfast was plentiful and had an excellent variety but it was the evening meals in Al Nur the on-site restaurant that made the stay extra special, they were second to none. Special mentions to Athena on reception and Angelina in the Restaurant - both were exceptional and took great care of us. I hope to return soon when time allows!

United KingdomIt is a 15-20 minute walk downhill to town, which after dinner is a long walk back uphill! But worth it for the best hotel in the town.
Beautiful hotel, incredible views over the sea & Zakynthos town. Staff are lovely, very quick to help. Breakfast setting is amazing with the same great views. Overall just a really really nice stay. The nearby town of Argassi is great for food and shops.

United KingdomWe received an upgrade to our room for our anniversary but it actually seemed smaller than what we paid for - it was still front facing with a sea view but there wasn’t much room for luggage, no wardrobe just hanging rail with hangers so not what we were expecting from the pictures. The sink was in the bedroom which we didn’t love. When other rooms were being cleaned they seemed to be the same as the pictures so maybe we just drew the short straw. The hotel also suggest using a slightly more expensive taxi service than other options so do your research. A few mornings there were some issues with shell in the eggs at breakfast but breakfast was good otherwise. Also mosquitoes are a problem on the island so would be good to have mosquito nets in the room. Would also have been nice to have tissues in the room just to add a more 4 star feel but otherwise good.
Very clean hotel and very friendly staff. Comfy double beds. Amazing view and in a great location with shops/restaurants just a 15 min walk away. Good breakfast variety and AMAZING food and cocktails at the hotel restaurant for dinner. Great massage service offered for in room massages. Overall great value for money. Nice pool area with sunbeds looking out on the view. October is a great time to stay for privacy / quiet pool area and the town is also much quieter.

United KingdomIt was late in the season and so a few of the nearest tavernas and restaurants had closed. This meant that we had to walk approx. 1 mile to the nearest available taverna. Obviously, this is no fault of the hotel. There were a few items no longer on the menu at the hotel restaurant, again due to the lateness in the season. The hotel is accessed via steep inclines from the main road at both the front and rear of the property. This might prove challenging for guests with mobility issues.
The setting and views out across the bay to Zakynthos were outstanding. The staff were very helpful, courteous and professional at all times. The rooms were stylish and contemporary. All areas of the hotel were kept spotlessly clean.

RomaniaA little noisy from the hallway in some evening/night (the doors of the rooms could use a bit of extra soundproof/windproof, but the other guests' behavior definitely had a contribution to that noise, as some nights were ok). Could be useful to have a separate light for the sink and a dimmer/separate second light for the bathroom, as at night it is way too bright to turn the light in the whole room on after you are used to the darkness or if someone sleeps. But the room's bright light is also a plus for other uses. So take this more like a suggestion than a dislike. Then for reading, there are separate nightlights and an ambient light behind the bed headrest which create a pretty nice ambiance.
Comfortable, clean, modern, great view! One of these cases where the pictures are for real and reality may even surpass the images. Couldn't get enough of that view! The staff are super helpful and friendly, always with a warm smile and there is daily housekeeping. I must really praise the staff for what they do for the customers and their giving nature. The included breakfast is varied and everything tastes good, so it's perfect even for long stays as you can eat something different every day. Vegans and vegetarians can also find something tasty. Loved the juices and fruit options as well as the self-service coffee machine with varied options, breakfast options include pancakes, do it yourself musli mix, eggs, omelette or bacon, sausages, baked tomatoes or fungi, sandwich options, yoghurt, homemade jam, cakes, fruit salad mix, freshly baked buns, you name it... seriously awesome breakfast. The restaurant outside of breakfast is a bit towards the pricey side, but I think you definitely pay for the location here and it is worth it! The nearest bus stop is 10min away, the nearest shop about 15min or less. And on the way you already have plenty of options for eating if you want to do so. Add 5 more minutes and you are in the center of Argasi with plenty of tavernas and shops. Note that buses are very unreliable in the area (and seems not just there), the only reliable ones are the ones from the beaches (Banana Beach, St. Nicholas beach) and they use almost the same stops as public buses(+/- 50m). I was looking for a place to relax and refresh and I found it! And if you do want to get in the buzz of things from Argasi, it is easy to walk there. In full season, the road may be a bit uncomfortable to walk, but during my stay there was not so much traffic. Overall had a very pleasant holiday and definitely not just the location but everyone there has contributed to it. Thank you once again!
