How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewReally nice accomodation with friendly and helpful owners. The view of the sea from the garden was amazing (the house sits on top a small hill). The beach was about 10 minutes walking. We had a ground floor room and it really had all the basics covered (clean: done daily, equiped kitchen, AC). We used the kitchen to prepare breakfast (eggs, etc.), small snaks and salads; nothing advanced. Almirida beach is really nice as it has fine sand, shallow water, which is perfect for kids, and the sea is calm. Overall we had a wonderful stay. We would definitely come back. P.S. Had a small problem with the vault jamming but this was quickly resolved by the owner. Thumbs up for the communication and response time. Thank you also to Sue for her hospitality. She was really nice to our daughter :)

Included breakfast ,just dried bread. The owner knew we wanted a twin bedded room as booked 24 hours prior and mentioned on booking confirmation but was not inclined to change it from a double.

The welcome basket and the bottle of water in the refrigerator could not be definetely mistaken by anyone with common sense as breakfast. Finally in your requests there was only one single request concering your arrival which was approved instanly. When you saw the double bed arrangement you said exactly: it is okay, it is very wide and we will manage..... So we do not fail to fulfill your request or denied to comply with your late wishes. I didn’t get any instructions I knocked on a door wishing a guest will open and tell me how to contact owner The owner opened and just said it’s upstairs - key in door. The room is poor Looks old and used The bathroom is so small you can hardly get in shower Will never return .

You were shown your room at garden level which you have booked but you were unhappy and you asked a room upstairs which you were given although there was a difference in price which you refused to pay. About the room and its state we could only say that the reviews from other guests do not reflect anything close to your opinion. The welcome/service was not so friendly as usually in Greece. The room and facilities were quite old. Beds were bad and the linen was washed in very perfumed detergent. The cat of the house wandered in the balcony - i'm allergic.

We believe though that generalisations, of any kind, should be avoided because they show empathy and most of the time are not fair. The facilities are renovated and maintained every single season. If our facilities were in the case you described it would reflect on our reviews, which is not the case. The aesthetics expectations are different for every customer and we are sorry we did not meet yours. Since you have been to Greece quite a few times as it appears you know that we have many cats. It is a common secret and there are many photo albums featuring the Greek cats. So in order to avoid any negative experience you should have mentioned that in your booking remarks. It is extremely difficult to guess your allergies like it is extremely difficult to guess where a cat will climb next. Everything is very good. The place is beautiful. If there is something to improve, then it might be the pillows, that could be more confortable or it might be good to have one more.

Verified reviewLovely view from the balcony. Good sized room. Very firm beds but option for toppers offered. Bed linen and towels all spotless. Lovely cleaning lady. Let us in a little early to get a nice cool shower. We borrowed a beach umbrella and mats. Good WiFi, good shower. Tiny kitchen but fine for basics.
The uphill walk at the end of a hot day. The balcony furniture in apartment 5 was very uncomfortable. (Upright wooden kitchen chairs). Al tough others looked a bit better. We could hear the people in the apartment next door through adjoining door.

Verified reviewWe had the best holiday in Almyrida. The view from the balcony is absolutely stunning. The accommodation is very clean. Sheets and towels are changed regularly. The kitchenette is well equipped. It is quiet and peaceful. You only hear the crickets. It’s a short walk downhill to the sea front and beach. Lots of restaurants and tavernas. Spiros is very friendly and helpful. We didn’t arrive till 1am because our flight was delayed and he welcomed us at this late hour. All in all a perfect family holiday. Thank you!

Verified reviewIt was so close to the beach. Beds were made by the time I’d come back from breakfast. They also swept and mopped the floors each time they cleaned. The owners are very friendly and informative.
The beds were too firm. Also there was a small yellow light that would hit our faces when we slept. Those 2 things aren’t really a big deal since we were too tired to be too bothered by it.

Verified reviewThe room has outstanding vieuw from the balcony. It is a very peaceful and quiet place to stay. The owner is very friendly and helpfull. I had a problem with my room and he solved it on the spot. I had a double bed that was very comfortable. It was nice to have a douver, since the nights and mornings were getting colder. I would recommend Villa Irini without a doubt.

Verified reviewVilla Irini is a nice place to stay. The room is clean and cozy, it was delightful to have a breakfast on the balcony with a sea view. Spiros, the owner of the villa, is very resposnive, he helped us with a car rent and a night airport tranfer. It took around 7 minutes on foot to get to the local beach and restaurants.
