How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe apartment was high up in the old town but easily accessible from the road. It was very cosy and comfortable and exactly as described. The owner is very friendly and helpful and everywhere is spotless.
Being fussy, given that there were four of us in the apartment, there wasn’t much room to sit right outside for breakfast, but there was a lower terrace that we could use if we wished and that had lovely views over the town.

Verified reviewThe location of the place was amazing, and close to everything in Chora. The view from the balcony is astonishing, you have the whole Aegean in your window!! The staff was also very polite, and helpful. Photos of the appartment are 100% accurate. Highly recommended for staying when visiting Skopelos.
The soundproofing of the room, was not that great.

Verified reviewEverything was absolutely amazing, the only thing I would've liked to have known is that it's all the way at the top of the village, and when it's hot out it's a tough walk.
The only thing is that I think the pots and pans situation could've been stocked a bit better, there were only two small pots available for cooking.

Verified reviewThe location, with a sea view, was absolutely lovely. It was handy for the local beach and lots of nice restaurants. The restaurant in the square near by is great (see photo from our terrace) and you can hear live Greek music most nights. It is high up in the town, so you need to walk uphill to get there. If you have a car there is a road up above the apartment for accessing the place and parking was easy. Our host was very friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed out stay. The place was cleaned everyday and we felt is was really good value for money. There is no sign for the studios, but Google Maps got us there!

Verified reviewThe view of the castle was lovely! However this was only from a shared patio area (from where we stayed, one of the family rooms). Hosts were very nice, quick at responding to messages.
When we arrived on a very hot afternoon, the air con wasn’t working. However this was fixed by the evening. We were put in one of the family rooms even though we are just a couple, there is only one air con unit situated above the front door so it doesn’t really circulate into the bedrooms. There are only a few plugs, only one in the bedroom which is also a light switch so was temperamental at times. On Monday, we were unable to leave our room because a group of people had gathered right outside our door, surrounding our drying clothes. This made us feel quite uncomfortable, especially as there was no prior notice that this kind of gathering or morning ritual would be taking place in that area. People were even sitting on the chairs in our private outdoor space/balcony, which added to our discomfort. This accommodation is situated on a hill so is a steep, hard and hot walk back up after going down into the town. Also very hard to find the property, no signs or anything. However, after messaging the host, she came to collect us.

Verified reviewI LOVE the location of the property, it’s incredible location, right amongst the locals and 10 minute walk to the port. Lots of steps as other people have pointed out however with such beauty views this cannot be avoided and it is totally worth it, and a lovely walk back to the apartment in the evening after dinner. The decor is also very traditional, relaxed and Greek. Very rustic. The apartment is cleaned daily. As Georgia lives down the steps around the corner, as do her family in surrounding houses, it feels very family oriented and I felt so welcome and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble and the service was exceptional. The price was amazing and the apartment cannot be faulted for the price. If you want somewhere to stay that is very luxury with a memory foam bed and modern furnishings like a posh hotel this is probably not for you - if you want to stay amongst the locals and immerse yourself in the Greek culture in Skopelos this is idyllic. I would describe it as a home from home. Also the views from the balcony if you choose the sea view (which I would definitely recommend) are amazing.
The shower curtain needs to be repaired and the shower head holder on the wall. The bed is not overly comfortable but for the price these are incredibly minuscule details which are easily rectified and I would definitely overlook to go and stay here again - which is exactly what I will be doing when I return to Skopelos 🙂

Verified reviewThe location was really good with a stunning view, it was very clean and a good space with a mini kitchen and a lovely balcony too chill on.
When we first arrived we were a bit shocked about no plug sockets as well as the WiFi not working - never a problem always a solution we found a way. The shower as well wasn’t great.

Verified reviewNice studio apartment with a great view overlooking the port and ships arriving. Very clean, well maintained. The owner is a nice hardworking lady.
The property is located on top of a hill. To get to it there is steep uphill climb with many steps. The entire upper part of Skopelos is reachable by uphill stair ways. If you are planning to cook for yourself there is a small kitchen that is functional, but needs at least one frying pan, a tea towel would be nice too.

The mattress could be replaced as it was very hard but this might be my personal preference!
