How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThis house was perfect for us and our 2 children. We wanted a secluded spot (our children are rather noisy), a space for them to run freely and to experience nature. It ticked every box! We loved the outdoor fireplace and kitchen. The hostess was also delightful and we were provided with lovely local produce on our arrival including their own olive oil and homemade jams!

Verified reviewA beautiful cottage in a great location, with a short walk to the beach and many charming details. The fridge was fully stocked, and there was cake waiting for us. A small staircase leads to the sleeping area, and the bathroom is integrated into the living space downstairs. Everything you could possibly need for two people is provided. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The hosts are very warm and fulfill all wishes. A 100% recommendation. Visiting Volos at Christmas is also highly recommended.

There were severe infrastructure that we had to deal with such the hot water and the heating.the former had a major delay in supply which meant that we had to wait for 15 min in order to arrive which is unacceptable for a winter home. The latter well it can be described pretty simply. This place was not designed for a winter month stay and it is only intended for summer months since there is no proper heating to deal with the winter cold. There is an a/c and a portable radiator which are both insufficient for the job. In total the amount of money that we payed for this allotment was way over the rational limit of a Place that should have all the proper facilities and cost respectively

We would like to address your comments regarding our facilities. The house is equipped with air conditioning units that provide heating in the winter and cooling in the summer. To ensure the comfort of our guests, we also provide additional heating devices during the winter months, despite the excellent insulation the accommodation offers. Regarding the hot water, we have taken all necessary measures to ensure an uninterrupted supply throughout the day (24/7). The high rating we receive from our guests in the value-for-money category (9.8) encourages us to continue offering excellent services and hospitality. Verified reviewThe hosts were very welcoming, even after a big delay on our flight, they stood ready to welcome us with a big smile. They stocked the fridge with local produce and fish. They even got us a wine to welcome us. The garden was kept neat and green, they even had a small yard with fresh produce growing, which, they said, we were free to pick what we wanted, we ended up making a lovely salad.

Verified reviewDimitris and Sia are super friendly, generous, hospitable and hardworking hosts. Their vegetable garden is gorgeous! We were greeted with a smile and a kitchen full of treats and food and were welcomed to use the garden produce as well. We ate the best meals from the garden vegetables. We loved the outdoor area with lounge chairs, big lawn, trees and the pool and outdoor shower 🚿 the house is clean and tidy. very nicely decorated with lots of candles and many collected antique items that i wish i had in my home :) The location is super for a quick walk or bicycle ride to the beach.
The room was really not big enough for the four of us. It's great for a couple on a romantic holiday, or maybe a couple with 1 or 2 small children, but for us, two adults and two grown teenage boys, it was too tight. The toilet and shower are in the same space as the bedroom and kitchen (separated by a brick wall, but still, you could hear the person in the bathroom). The kitchen area is limited with additional working space in an outdoor kitchen, so cooking felt a bit like when we go camping. In and out with stuff all the time. Also, the house comes with a resident cat 😺, so if you are nor prepared for that, you may be surprised 🙀. The roads leading to the House are super narrow. Be ready for that. We made it in and out with an SUV but it is a challenge.
