Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We loved everything about our stay at Lithalona Villas. The accommodation is thoughtfully designed and very comfortable, the location is unbeatable, and Dimitra’s warmth and generosity as a host are honestly unmatched. We don’t usually return to a place twice, but this was our second visit and we’re already planning a third. Lithalona Villas is a true gem and if you have any doubts about visiting, don’t - you won’t regret it.

GreeceNothing to dislike.
The amazing natural setup, which is both respected and made even more prominent by hosts. Facilities are matching the awesome scene, very clean and cared for. Tip the small balkonies over the sea, allowing to enjoy serene views. Beautiful gardens, with attention to their every detail. Professional still sincerely warm hospitality by remarkable Dimitra and staff! All in all, well-balanced atmosphere for relaxation and excellent people making you feel at home. The direct access to a beautiful beach complements a 'small-heaven' sense.

IcelandIt’s simply a paradise. Beautiful, peaceful surroundings that offer so much calmness and relaxation. All you can hear are the crickets and other nature sounds. There are so many nice places on the garden where you can sit down and relax and enjoy the view. The sea is just wonderful, perfect temperature and we spent so much time there just floating in the water and enjoying the tranquillity it offered. We even spotted a turtle there! It was just swimming around us and coming up for air. It was just wonderful. We went swimming in the water at least 2-3 times a day. The house itself is wonderful and has everything you can need. And we really liked how private it was. Dimitra is the most wonderful host, so sweet and attentive and always willing to offer advice on where to go and what to see. Truly a unique host. We also highly recommend the nearby restaurants. Especially the Votsalo Taverna, wonderful food and amazing views. We went there four times during our visit. Also the Morocco Café which is really nice and the Marathia Star. We both hope we get the chance to return to Lithalona Villas in the future. And we highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Zakynthos. We already miss being there.

GermanyWhat a great stay at Lithalona, meeting Dimitra and her husband. If you are wondering what „superhost“ means, stay here and you will find out. From best restaurants, wines and places to explore on the island, Dimitra knows them all. Thank you so much! The very private and clean, secluded houses with a small private beach, really feel like your own staying there. This place is the perfect stay when you are looking to relax and have a cosy little hideaway from all the other island trouble.

GermanyThere is absolute nothing that we didn’t like. Every day was bliss.
Absolutely everything. The accommodation is the perfect place if you are looking for relaxation, winding down, crystal clear water, quiet corners and an exclusive ambience. The property is as beautiful as in the pictures, or rather much more beautiful. The accommodation is minimalistically furnished with high quality furniture and offers a very comfortable bed. Bathrooms and kitchen are also of high quality and caters to all needs. Everything is super clean and makes it a luxurious stay. You will immediately settle in.

GermanyThere is so little to say here! It was a bit expensive but we were happy with everything else and would stay here again if we come back to Zakynthos.
Dimitra and Nicholas were wonderful hosts. We arrived very late since our flight was delayed, but they stayed up to wait for us and show us around. As many other reviews have said, we also received a loaf of bread, homemade jam, olives, fresh fruit and veggies, and water to help us begin our stay. There were also basic condiments available in the kitchen, and we had all the equipment we needed to make our own breakfasts and more every day. The grounds are massive and there are multiple comfortable nooks to hide away in with a book or just relax and look at the water. There is an amazing view of the island and they have their own private beach right on the sulfur springs (it's a little brisk getting in because of this!). They were extremely responsive to all our questions and everything was kept extremely clean and tidy. We were traveling with a 9 month old baby and they were also able to provide a pack n play for us. The A/C worked well and the shower was amazing. There are a couple good restaurants 1-5 minutes walking distance so you really never have to leave if you don't want to!

AustraliaAbsolutely nothing - but please listen to your hosts. If you don't want to stay in this paradise yet non-touristy bubble, you need to hire a car, or expect to pay a lot for taxis. best to hire from the airport, even if you arrive at the port - like us. We got two private boat tours from the beach just through the gate down to Marathia beach from our hosts' recommendation - but otherwise you will miss out on some of the gems of Zakynthos, including the mountain villages and some other beaches that need car access. Please ignore the ancient sulphuric smells that occasionally surface from undersea - and respect Zakynthos' history providing asphalt to seal ancient Greek ships and aqueducts and roads for the Romans.
Now I know what 10 out of 10 actually is, I will never rank a property that high again - this sets a new standard for me, and my adult son, though less well travelled than I am. The location and facilities are superb, with private access to swimming areas and a small public pebble beach - pristine waters. The hosts Dimitra and Nikos are truly genuine and caring, intelligent people who respect the environment and promote local produce and sustainable experiences, including everything provided as welcome gifts to parting gifts, and recommendations for the island. Every villa is stunning, spacious, clean. Of course, fully functioning kitchens, AC, showers etc.. Every detail in every villa is gorgeous and tasteful - I think I have found the sculptor of some 'hanging fish' in one villa. There is privacy, yet conviviality if you seek it. There are private and shared spaces for every time of day for every villa with gorgeous views everywhere - from sunrise to sunset. The extensive gardens are superb, with olive, apricot and plum trees to name just a few. All the staff are friendly and go over above and beyond - from the cleaning lady to the gardener. It's nice to know that everyone talks to one another - so it is a seamless experience - built on communication and true customer service. About the location - there is an excellent restaurant just outside the access gate, and a café during peak season 50 meter's away, and another restaurant which we didn't try only a few hundred meter's away. It is a little away from the overly 'touristified' areas of Zakynthos/Zante a bit overwhelmed with 'clubbers', which we did not enjoy that much. The tips from our hosts for restaurants and activities were spot on. We did most of them, and all were excellent. For me, this was a healing stay, and we extended our stay for an extra five nights - so 12 days!

SlovakiaI would give 10 stars if possible for Dimitra and the Lithalona Villas & Houses. This is the best stay you can ever find. Dimitra, the host is kind and incredibly friendly. My husband got sick right after we have arrived. Dimitra gave us medicines, number for a taxi driver, showed us where to go if emergency occurred. Luckily we didn’t need it, and could enjoy this wonderful apartment. It is clean and tidy, very private, silent. Has two private beaches and a huge garden with multiple terraces to sit outside and enjoy the view. (Our apartment had 4 private terry-like places to sit). Dimitra offered us a boat trip with someone she knows. That’s how we saw a turtle and could swim in the sea beside the beach area. I would spend here months! Do not hesitate to spend your holiday here. I guarantee it’s the best option you’ll ever find!

AustriaWe stayed in September and although stated in other comments that the sea smell a little we have not any issues. You need to be very picky that you smell sulfur or that you will not enter as it might have a glance of oil on the top. We had seen and swam with a turtle only a few meters away - so I think if the turtle is fine, we will not have issues.
This accomodation has the best host/owner we ever had. Dimitra is not only taking care of her guests but also making them aware what to visit over the island - sightseeing as well as acitivties. She's the person that makes this the perfect place. Check-In was very easy - ringing at the door although we were a little earlier than agreed. We had a spot for the car and felt very save on the whole area as there is only a few options to get onto the property. The appartments have been renovated recently (during COVID) and are therefore in perfect shape. The view to the Marathonísi Island enlightend us every day from breakfast until dawn and even in the night you are able to see it when there is a little more moonlight. Direct access to the beach is given, to your own private one (shared with other appartments) as well as the public beach next - that is actually seperated by big stones, so you dont hear or see much of that.

BelarusThis is the best vacation of all the times that we have been to Greece. Dimitra is a great, friendly, always ready to help hostess. The house has absolutely everything you need and it is very clean and cozy . Well, the place is a small paradise, a huge well-kept garden with many private places where you can feel alone with the sea and nature. It's a pity that you can't put a score higher than ten. We will definitely be back, thanks Dimitra and Nicholas

AustriaWhere do we even begin… This place is heaven on earth. The area is huge and offers a lot of space and so many cute spots. The private sea access is the most beautiful on the entire island. We found a new place to relax on the property every day. The apartment is truly fully equipped, and we lacked nothing. The hostess even welcomed us with delicious fruit, bread, olive oil, etc. The hostess Dimitra and her husband Nico were the best and most welcoming hosts we could have imagined. They are so warm, loving, and friendly. All the staff on site were also always so nice and welcoming. We found our paradise, and it's called Lithalona Villas & Houses. We'll be definitely back soon :)
