Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BulgariaEverything was perfect!
From the moment we arrived, Penelope welcomed us with a warm smile and genuine kindness. She offered us fresh juice and took the time to show us on a map all the best places to visit in the area. She even prepared sandwiches and gave us fruit to take to the beach – thoughtful gestures that truly touched us. Throughout our stay, she treated us as if we were her own children – caring, attentive, and full of warmth. Thanks to her, our holiday was even more enjoyable and unforgettable.

BulgariaRoad nearby is a bit too busy and noisy, but we slept with AC on and windows closed anyway.
This is an actual home, for living, not some rental flat. Two big bedrooms with their own bath and a spectacular master suite like nothing Ive seen before. All air conditioned. Huge terraces with electrified tents.View of the sea,100m from the beach! 10min to Old Town.Parking spot in the yard! Host Penelope was wonderful! Always available to help, clean or answer our questions. Leaving fresh froot on the table or making us sandwiches for our boat trip - best host ever!

United KingdomBeing on a main road it was a bit noisy if you had the window open. But the air con worked well. It was a lovely bathroom but only a hand held shower which was a bit temperamental and difficult to control the temperature.
Very clean and plenty of wardrobe/drawer space. Small balcony but another shared large balcony was available. Good fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. A very easy walk to the beach and local tavernas. Penelope or her husband were always on hand to help. Penelope was so friendly and charming - she made us feel welcome like family.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing!
Amazing location. Lovely accommodation. Clean and just so. Penelope is lovely and left us plates of fruit lots grown in the garden that surrounds the property. Left to ourselves to do our own thing but also lovely breakfast with Penelope and maybe a couple of glasses of wine in the evening. Couldn’t recommend more highly. Xxx

United KingdomNothing!
Where to begin...? Our stay at Villa Penelope was excellent. Mrs Penelope could not do enough to ensure that our family were happy and had everything we needed. I worked from the property from the first week and i have to say that the WiFi connection was excellent. The villa was spacious with 3 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, loads of storage space, a washing machine, living area , kitchen facilities and large office with a lovely desk. The property was very clean and well maintained throughout our 18 day visit. About 3 minutes walk from bus stop 5, 15 mins walk to the old port and 3 minutes walk to the beautiful Megli Amos beach. 2 small balconies and 2 large terraces with electric awnings were lovely. My favourite was the terrace with the view of the sea. The property is surrounded by beautiful gardens maintained by Mrs Penelope and her family. Thank you, Mrs Penelope for all your hard work and a fantastic stay! Sarah, Gary, Dan

United KingdomFor the size of the apartment I was expecting a more functional kitchen, although it's ok for basics( coffee, heat up some food/milk). But there is a massive BBQ area to counterpart this :)
Really clean apartment , with a helpful landlord who she gave us tips on where to eat and which places to visit. When we found a few mosquitoes in the bedroom she really did magic and made them disappear. We are two families with toddlers and it's a really well made family friendly establishment.

SpainMy issue is more with the layout of Skiathos than the house. There is a main road that runs around the island. It makes getting around easy - but it makes for a noisy road. If noise doesn't bother you, then it's super well-located to walk to near by restaurants, into Skiathos town or catch a bus to get around the island. If you're sensitive to noise or imagining a quiet village setting, this is not the house for you.
Penelope is more than a host - she is the Greek mother you never knew you needed. She was so welcoming. She brought homemade desserts, a greek salad and gorgeous veggies from her garden. This is her home, and it feels like home. The house, although dated, was meticulously clean.
