We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomA slight shame about the new building being constructed in front of our balcony which blocked the view, but still loved the balcony.
Gorgeous stone building, great location a few mins walk from nice sand and pebble beaches, and a couple of tavernas. Just a few mins drive into Agios Nikolaos. Comfortable bed and loved the balcony space.

United StatesThe apartment was difficult to find because the sign is small and embedded in the rock wall. However, neighbors were available to help us locate the facility! There was a communication problem that was really "nobody's fault". The owner was trying to help us with directions but we did not have wifi until we found our room. Then communication was fine!!
The location and view was great. The apartment was also very nice!!! Comfy beds. We would stay here again!!

United KingdomFirst, we were not aware that we couldn't use the tap water. When I made coffee, it tasted awful, and only then did we learn from the owner that the tap water was salty and that there was an ongoing pipe renovation. It would have been very helpful to know this beforehand so we could have bought bottled water in advance. Instead, we had to make an extra trip to the store, which was a 15-minute drive away, to get potable water. This inconvenience could have been avoided with a simple heads-up. Additionally, there were lots of mosquitoes, which made it difficult to enjoy the outdoor spaces. Other than that, the accommodation was comfortable, the location was scenic, and the facilities were as described. We would recommend future guests check with the owner about the water situation and come prepared for mosquitoes to avoid similar inconveniences.
We stayed at Mani Stone Towers and had an overall pleasant experience, but there were a couple of major issues that we encountered.

United KingdomWe hadn't been warned that the tap water is saline, and not good for drinking or cooking. There was no reference to this in the apartment, and we only knew because a friendly person who happened to be passing warned us, and took us to the drinking water tap about 200 metres away. A notice, and an empty water container ready to fill would have been very helpful. This was a very cheap room, so we expected it to be quite basic, which it was, though everything was there that we needed - except water. The bathroom was new, but pretty rough. The apartment is off an unmade road, and a notice at the turn-off would have been a big help.
It was lovely to lie in bed and hear the sea. The village is delightful and the three different places we ate were all excellent and very friendly.

GreeceThe accommodation name and photographs suggest at least a view with balconies and terraces to enjoy it from. Our room was at street level and the "outside space" was a 3 x 1 metre ledge just above the narrow access lane and below the wall height opposite, some view! Because there was no outside light, it could not even be used for reading after sunset. The room was small with a barely double sized bed built in so it was accessible from only one side. The mosquito screen on one of the two small windows had clearly been broken for some considerable time giving the plentiful local mosquitoes easy access. The shower was of the "wet room" type (i.e. no separate cubicle), not in itself a major problem if you aim the jet so your body shields as much of the rest of the room as possible - but the shower head needed replacing (once again poor maintenance!) and sprayed water in all directions at once. The final straw was the towel provided - so hard it was like drying oneself with sandpaper. More generally, we didn't find the neighbourhood attractive with a sprawl of building developments reached by a maze of small, mostly unsurfaced lanes.
There was a plug-in anti-mosquito device and the necessary tablets. When we had already decided to leave after just one night of a planned three nights and phoned the facility manager to tell him this, he offered a change to a better room on a higher floor. However, our confidence in the whole set-up was too eroded.

AustraliaThe bed had springs that we could feel in the night so didn't sleep very well. The tap water tasted very strange so we had to go to town and stock up with bottled water for our stay, which we haven't needed to do in Greece yet. Also, I thought the pool was for all guests when I booked but it's only for guests of a different hotel. I thought that was quite misleading advertising.
It was a nice location away from the crowds.

United StatesThe electrical panel by the bed has bright lights and a constant ticking that would frequently get especially loud as it sounded like a mechanical winding. It woke me up several times from sleep and prevented me from falling asleep several times. I had to have the television in in order to get to sleep to drown out the noise of this panel.
The location was great.

Czech RepublicThe cleaning lady was very good and polite, the room and outside the room were all spotlessly clean. Even the place was nice with 150-200 m to the beach a not far away from a small village-town.
The pictures were not quite right, the room was very small, mostly like under basement, with a very small fridge and no terrace, only shared terrace was available.

United KingdomThe overhead shower was corroded and sprayed water out from the sides and was not usable. The adjustable shower head was broken and had to be hand held. The 'shower tray' , which was moldy, did not drain and left a permanent pool of water. This was raised with the owner but we received no response. The kitchen was ill-equipped and the few items of cutlery were rusty. The apartment was located in a dark damp corner (mosquito heaven!) opposite a building site and the outside seating area was used as a cleaning store. Please see the photos to form your own opinion. WOULDN'T RECOMMNED! Beware Google reviews from 'Local Guide'
Struggling to be positive. The apartment was set centrally for the walks we wanted to complete. The owner responded promtly to some of our issues: he confirmed quickly that the apartment (which was an 'upgrade' from our booking) did not provide anything in which to boil water for tea/coffee. He directed us to a water source 150m from the property, when it transpired that the tap water was so salty it contaminated the cups etc. when washing up.

United KingdomNot only the room was incredible, with functional kitchenette and bathroom and an amazing terrace with sea view; Vasiliki, Constantina and Nikitas made us feel welcome and gave us recommendations for tavernas and cafes nearby, and also gave us some very tasty basil and generally very good vibes! We loved our stay here, if you want to discover the Mani peninsula the position is excellent and, honestly, the beach next to the apartment probably the best in the area!
