How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe stayed at the hotel with my husband and our two children for a few days. Overall, our stay seemed pleasant, but unfortunately, it was overshadowed by a very upsetting incident. During checkout, I carefully packed our suitcases in the room, as I always do when leaving a hotel. However, once we returned home and I opened our luggage, I realized that a small box containing some valuable jewelry was missing. I searched the entire house thoroughly to rule out any possibility of having misplaced it, but sadly, the conclusion was clear: the box went missing at the hotel. I immediately contacted the property to report the incident. The response I received was simply that nothing had been found, with no real effort to investigate further or offer any meaningful assistance. It felt as though they just wanted to dismiss the matter and take no responsibility. When you stay at a hotel, you expect at least a basic level of security and professionalism—especially when it comes to personal belongings. Unfortunately, in this case, I felt completely unprotected and deeply disappointed. We will not be returning, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who values safety and respectful treatment as a guest.

Verified reviewThe property was well kept with friendly and accommodating staff! The rooms were comfortable and the spa excellent! The view from the restaurant veranda was fantastic.
The property can only be accessed on foot from the entrance to the village which is 400 metres away and at a significant elevation with lots of climbing! Not for the faint hearted!

Verified reviewThe hotel offers excellent service, a location with stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere, and a relaxing spa, making it a great choice for comfort and relaxation. However, the breakfast even though is very generous and traditional, has limited vegan options, and the rooms could benefit from better soundproofing to enhance overall comfort.”

Verified reviewI liked how clean my room was, the opportunity to use the spa facilities (minus the massage) in private. The upgrade for the room and the amenities. The breakfast and the restaurant menu. The stuff is friendly and helpful.
I would prefer a bit more update bathroom. I loved the upgrade, but I prefer a shower over a bathtub.

Verified reviewThe incredible location. The food. The view. The comfortable mattresses. The cleanness. But most important of all, the friendliness of the stuff and the managers, from the very first to the very last moment. The village is a traditional protected UNESCO pedestrian zone, so they even carried our luggage thru the narrow streets from the parking (next to the old church) to the hotel with an ATV. We hope to return soon again.
No complaints. Everything was to our liking.

Verified reviewNestled in the charming village of Mikro Papigko, this unique hotel offers a serene and unforgettable experience. Upon arrival, you leave your car at the church’s parking lot and climb a few steps through the picturesque village to reach the hotel. It may be a bit of a trek, but the reward is worth every step. One of the highlights is Verantas 1700, a bar and breakfast area with a breathtaking panoramic view that captures the essence of the region. Breakfast is a traditional spread that you can enjoy while soaking in the scenery—it’s the perfect start to the day. The spa is an intimate experience, allowing a maximum of four people at a time, which keeps it private and relaxing. Reservations are recommended to ensure availability. The spa offers a sauna, hammam, and massage services, but for an extra touch of luxury, I recommend booking the suite. Located just above the spa, this suite includes a private jacuzzi, perfect for a solo relaxation session. While the hotel’s beauty is hard to describe in words, one small drawback is the price when booking online, which can feel a bit steep. However, the welcoming staff truly enhances the experience, offering kind assistance and even sending a groom with an ATV to help transport luggage from the parking area. Overall, Mikro Papigko 1700 is a gem for those looking to escape and immerse themselves in the tranquility and beauty of this stunning village.

Verified reviewWe arrived at Mikro Papigo 1700 Hotel at the end of September, looking to explore the region of Zagori region in Epirus. The hotel which is located at the highest point of the Mikro Papigo village allowed us to captivate the spectacular view of the Tymfi mountains surrounding the hotel and the beautiful villages spreading just below Mikro Papigo. The hotel is ideally located within walking distance to the trails and hikes of the area providing easy access to the unique paths including Papigo Rock pools, Voidomatis springs, Vikos Gorge hiking trail, and for the more adventurous one, the Drakolimni which begins from Mikro Papigo, passes by mountain refuge of Astraka and ends at Lake Drakolimni. These self-guided trails just near the hotel saved us travel time and expenses, and for the most part we left the car at the parking lot. It is a homely friendly hotel. The rooms were always clean and tidy. The staff members from reception/management to the kitchen and to the chef of the excellent restaurant at the hotel were amazing, creating a warm welcoming atmosphere.
There is nothing that I can point out which I didn’t like about the hotel.
