Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hotel is centrally located behind a square containing a number of excellent tavernas, and only a few minutes walk from the ferry. Our room had a balcony with a view over the harbour and sea. The room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom had been recently refurbished and now has a fixed shower screen. The staff and management were very good, and gave us much advice on what to include in our visit to Amorgos. We will certainly stay here again on our next visit to this lovely island.

GreeceThe location was perfect, right by the harbor in Katapola and everything we needed was a short walk from the hotel. The room was cleaned daily, the staff were super friendly, helpful and gave us great traveling advice! Also, the room was exactly as shown in pictures, no unpleasant surprises and overall a very good value for money stay.

NorwayAbsolutely nothing.
Yoanna and her husband were the most hospitable and joyous owners of this beautiful hotel. The attentive staff combined with a perfect location gives this hotel a 10/10 from us. The rooms were kept really tidy from the cleaning staff, and they were extremely gracious, accommodating and welcoming. We can’t wait to be back to both hotel Minoa and Amorgos. Grillhouse Viktoras is an adorable taverna with a very good menu and super nice owner. Cannot recommend enough having a late lunch or dinner there.

LuxembourgNothing to complain about, really. Maybe adding insect screens to the rest of the windows of the ground-floor room I stayed in (bathroom already has one) would allow one to keep the windows open at night to enjoy the breeze rather than use the A/C.
Location and staff. Very close to the port and the boats for Maltezi beach. Ioanna, the owner, was the absolute highlight, embodying the true sense of Greek hospitality: always with a smile offering all the tips and services a first-time visitor needs to enjoy the island to the fullest: where to go swimming and how to get there with public transport, when the best time is to visit the monastery, where to eat or buy local products, to name a few. And going the extra mile every single time: finding the best possible way for me to enjoy my last swim worry-free <3, helping me with my luggage, using her network to respond to my every request, introducing me to Maria, the sweet cantine-owner of Maltezi beach with the big heart and the amazing sense of humor! <3 In a nutshel, it felt like staying with family and friends. I fell in love with Amorgos and its people. Thank you for making my short vacation an unforgetable one! And looking forward to visiting with you again and again...

United KingdomThe room was slightly overlooked as our window opened onto another room's balcony and the WiFi was weak and didn't always work. These issues were not a real problem for us and we enjoyed our stay very much!
Fantastic location from which to explore Amorgos. Very friendly host and the room suited us well!. Great value! We arrived on 26th July and there was a local festival outside the hotel to celebrate all night long. We joined in and enjoyed the music and Raki.

Solo traveler here. I was doing some writing on Amorgos and I had a wonderful time at the Hotel Minoa. The hotel staff were all really friendly and genuine. Full of character and the restaurant next door was brilliant too. One of the most memorable hotels I’ve stayed in Greece (I’ve stayed in a lot)

United StatesIf you bring a child, the third bed is very hard. For us the room wes perfect.
Great location; 5 tavernas all within a hundred feet, ferry arrived 200 feet away and caiques to take you across the bay to a fantastic clean quiet beach. We had a balcony facing the garden, completely private, with choruses of doves to great you each morning. Great continental breakfast and the sweet shop within would make custom omelets and expresso for heading out to a hard day at the beach, or with car visiting the south end of Amorgos, world away from the north end centered on Aegiali. You should visit both ends of Amorgos.

FranceNothing, it was all perfect!
Everything. Our room was fabulous, and the bathrooms have recently been renovated so that was a lovely surprise. The lady running the hotel speaks excellent French and English and treats you like family, she even sat down with us on the first day with a big map and explained all the best spots. The breakfast is delicious with lots of food from their garden and homemade cakes. The location is perfect with a huge free car park nearby if you rent a car and great restaurants at the foot of the door. When we come back we will 100 percent stay here again, thank you Joanna!
