Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

EstoniaNot specifically something that the property is responsible for, but the area is a bit not so enjoyable. You can hear and see screams and people intoxicated wandering around. Not the safest feeling.
Hotel is essential, but provides all the comforts and requirements needed for the stay. Staff is welcoming and attentive. Bathroom is small but functional. Rooms are pretty good, AC very efficient.

United StatesThe shower area was very small, but usable.
I liked how close it was to the metro station. It made it very easy to get around everywhere and even though I had to leave early in the morning my friend I was traveling with was able to check out in my stead. The attached cafe was also very nice.

AustraliaThe shower curtain was difficult and the towels were a bit small. The area was also unpleasant. We didn’t walk outside after dark. There were people in the streets at night in groups and others going through the many bins were could see from our window.
The room was immaculate and we were very happy with the room for the price. There was plenty of space for our suitcases and bed and pillows were comfortable. We spoke to the lady on the front desk on the way in and were very impressed. She offered us water and assisted us to get our bags into the lift. She also offered directions. She was lovely.

New ZealandLocation was good, although one block away there were a largish group of homeless people with drug habits. We walked past a few time and never felt intimidated though. Bathroom was tiny and old. Everything worked but only just.
Location was good, walkable to the main attractions. 24 hour reception and eccentric guy on reception was very amusing and accomodating. Beds were comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.

AustraliaSome of the streets nearby are pretty rough. These parts are easy to avoid (walk south or west towards the metro station - don’t go east!), but worthwhile noting when booking.
The hotel and room were excellent for the price, and the hotel itself was easy to get to from the metro with good places to eat nearby. The Plaka area and Acropolis are an easy 20 minute walk away.

Poland- Ugly view from the window. Also next to the hotel there is a small street where a lot of homeless people sleep and take drugs. This can cause a sense of danger. However, there is nothing to worry about.
+ Very clean, room also was cleaned every day. New towels and toiletries were given. + Location next to the metro station + Great value for money

AustriaSome of the nearby side streets on the way to Omonoia Square are filled with drug addicts openly shooting up or clearly recently having done so. There is a very heavy police presence in the area and the hotel tells me nothing ever happens; but it is what it is. The hotel and staff are great so by all means stay here, but understand your surroundings and take whatever you consider to be reasonable precautions.
Nice hotel with very pleasant and helpful staff. Large room with good bathroom and all necssary facilities. No breakfast available but several nearby coffee shops, as well as an on-site cafe. Good balance between quality and price.

United KingdomNo ironing board provided, the pillows were uncomfortable, and the location is not safe at night. The location is literally a getto, but the hotel itself is ok ish. Just a bit too expensive for what it offers.
The lady at the reception was absolutely incredible! Very helpful whenever there was an issue, helped me to get a better deal for an airport taxi as well! The staff was just amazing!

FranceA bit noisy as the room was on the street side but this is also due to Athens never stopping city life!
Very clean and relatively large bedroom, the personal at the reception desk was exceptionally nice and speaking perfectly English, Italian and even a bit of French! Perfect location close to the subway station and we could park our rental car at the car park next door for a cheap price.
