How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLocation is great for the train station. Good communication. Bed is comfortable, hot water for showers.
We arrived same time as their other customers at a different location, so we waited outside the building for a bit. Happy with facilities apart from no kettle in the kitchen, we just heat up water with the microwave, so not a big issue. Shared bathroom and kitchen, but we only stayed the night and left early for the train, so didn't get to meet the other couple. I prefer a firmer pillow, but my daughter was fine with it.

Check in was 15:00 - problem when you arrive at 7am after a 24hr travelling. Shared bathroom (on booking had stipulated private bathroom) . Shared apartment ( was not aware that all amenities were shared) Hand held shower - took some serious juggling. Drain smell quite unpleasant in bathroom. No plug for bath. Bed quite uncomfortable .
Hello dear guests. I think that you need to go to back to elementary school as reading skills are lacking here. In rooms name there is clearly written that it is room with double bed and SHARED bathroom, as well as in rooms description it’s written as well. About check in, it’s from 15 as in most of the hotels and other properties like that. Check out is at 11, so when you arrived at 7 am, what should I do with previous guests? Kick them out or tell them to sleep on the balcony and the check you in? I totally understand that you were exhausted after long trip, but time of check, 15:00, in is clearly written in properties information, so I do not know why you booked our apartment then. Everything is written in the description and in the name of room itself. For next time, it’s better for you to plan your trip, including the choose of accommodations, which will allow you to check in that early. Or book one night ahead and inform property’s owner that you want to check in the next day due to long time of travel.

Verified reviewThe accomodation was very close to Larisa train station. We had to take the train the next day. The apartment was two bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen. We stayed in on of the rooms. The room was a good size and we had everything we needed. The host met us and handed the keys himself.
There weren't any issues. The only thing that we did like was unpleasant smell when you enter the block. But the smell wasn't spread on the other floors.
We are sorry about the smell in the building. It is not our fault and we are working to resolve the issue.

Thank you for your review. The problem with the water was that one of the guests simply turned off the hot water. We don't know why or for what reason, but that's how it was. Guests often dig around where they shouldn't. For which we are VERY sorry, but sometimes a guest can surprise us with their ingenuity.

Verified reviewDrug addicts got high outside the building entrance. The hallway of the building entrance smelled badly. The door of my bedroom was difficult to close/lock and open/unlock. I didn't feel safe to stay here.
I read your opinion and my hair stands on end. If it was so terrible, why did you extend your stay with us??? You left without paying for the damage you caused (broken mirror in the room) and you still wrote us such an opinion??? I regret that I did not report your behavior at booking. I regret that we, the hosts, cannot leave reviews for our guests. Maybe then the guests wouldn't take revenge on us. I don't say hello

Verified reviewCommunication with the owners was very smooth, they let me leave my stuff in the room before the official check-in time. The apartment was very clean, cozy, with sweet design. You share an apartment with different guests in a second room, but you can lock the room with a key, so it was totally fine for me. Quick Wi-Fi. I also really liked the area nearby, there are many nice cafes and quiet little streets.
