How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location was ideal for exploring some of Naxos’ best beaches, such as Glyfada, Hawaii, and Alyko – all within reasonable driving distance. The room itself was spotless, and the facilities were comfortable and convenient. Whenever we needed something, the host was readily available and very helpful. His tips and suggestions greatly improved our stay and helped us make the most of our vacation.
Ironically, the same distance that made the beaches accessible also meant that the accommodation was quite far from the town center and most shops or restaurants. While this isn’t necessarily a flaw of the property itself, it’s something to consider depending on what type of holiday you’re planning.

Verified reviewIt's a beautiful stay away from the touristic crowd. The view from the balcony was amazing - with a sea view. The host was very warm and sweet. He made sure we had everything we ask for. The best part was the amazing breakfast - one of the best. Highly recommend this Beautiful village stay.
Wifi signal was very poor. Maybe a booster could help. More light in bathroom could be better. It was a bit dark in the shower area.

Verified review1. Watching the sunset from the terrace. 2. The Breakfast. 3. Listening to the goat herd (one or two wearing (like cows) bells) meandering across the fields opposite.
Nothing.

Verified reviewWe had such a wonderful time in Vavoulas Village. Manolis was lovely and he stayed up late to welcome us since our ferry was delayed and even offered to pick us up. The room is spacious and has a beautiful balcony from which you can see the sunset. The location is also great to explore nearby beaches and just a few minutes drive from restaurants and supermarkets. Would recommend!
The rooms are quite hot and there is AC but in our room it was placed just in front of the bed. It was not very pleasant to sleep with it on but we had no other choice. Breakfast was nice but we expected it to be a little better from the pictures. Pillows were not very comfortable. Overall these were not big issues, it was a very pleasant stay.

Verified reviewThe room was lovely and clean, nicely decorated and with a big terrace. The owner was very friendly, helpful, and easy to communicate with through the chat and WhatsApp. One of the mornings we also ordered breakfast and it was very well done and served in the restaurant just a few meters away from the property.
The location is a little bit out of the way, but there is a bus stop just a few minutes walk away. The bus takes you to the beachside as well as bigger towns.

Verified reviewWe had an amazing stay! The room was really clean, nice and comfortable with a terrace overlooking the sea and sunset. The place is really close to the best beaches in Naxos and there are restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The breakfast was really good, cooked at the moment with fresh ingredientds, we loved it! The owner was really helpful and always available for any need.
In the hotel service description a restaurant is mentioned, but in reality the restaurant is closed.

Verified reviewOh, we loved it here so so much. Mostly because it‘s run by an adorable, welcoming and hard working family. The rooms are beautiful and tastful decorated, the view over Kastraki beach is splendid and the breakfast is super tasty and prepared with love and effort by Manolis‘ mother. Overall, we loved it because of the great value for money and its authenticity. Thank you again Manolis! Best wishes from Cristina and Peter!

Verified reviewI had an absolutely wonderful stay at this charming family-owned hotel booked through Booking.com. The quaint, small-scale atmosphere gave off authentic vibes that made for some truly stylish and Instagram-worthy photos. The standout feature of this hotel was the delicious and diverse breakfast spread. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of options available, and each morning was a culinary delight. However, what truly set this place apart was the exceptional service provided by the owner, Manolis. When our ferry plans went awry and we faced a late-night arrival, he went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Manolis personally met us with his car at 4 in the morning, sparing us from expensive taxi fares and even stopping by a bakery to make sure we had food and coffee. Throughout our stay, he continued to be a source of invaluable assistance, helping us find transportation options and offering insightful recommendations for things to see and do on the island. His genuine kindness and willingness to go the extra mile made our stay truly unforgettable. Even without Manolis' exceptional help, this hotel is a gem. It boasts stylish elements, comfortable accommodations, and a delicious breakfast, all at a remarkably reasonable price. I can't recommend this place highly enough, and I'll cherish the memories of my stay here for a long time to come. It's a true hidden gem on Booking.com.

Verified review- beautiful, remote area; it's only accessible with your personal car (20 minutes from port town, 4 minutes to the nearest beach) and we enjoyed the privacy of it - the breakfast was really great, we had a lot of diverse options (including a vegetarian option) and the whole staff was warm and welcoming to us - all rooms have a personal balcony, very spacious and it contributed to our beautiful evenings there - well positioned, we could reach all the main points of interest on the island in maximum 30 mins by car - Emmanouil was so helpful with both our stay, and recommendations for places to visit all over the island
