How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewLoved the whole ambience of the Nefeli Hotel The location is fabulous I had room 10 overlooking the front and I could see the the sea and Telendos islet Manos and Panos are great hosts and are a wealth of information The bar area and garden are extremely well kept The hotel is as clean as a whistle Nice surprise in my room as there was a little kitchen area I stayed here for 4 nights as I wanted to see what it was like so I could bring my father later on in the year He would like it

Verified reviewBeautiful garden where you can enjoy a very nice breakfast in the morning and the most delicious cocktails in the evening. Very clean with all needed facilities but the most important is the people, everyone was so nice and tried to meet all our needs. I fully recommend!

Verified reviewThis hotel is all about Greek hospitality: you can feel the love that the family invests in your stay in every detail. Kind people, spotlessly clean rooms with nice views, good airconditioning, tasty breakfasts and cocktails in the on-site bar etc. Those who want can use the pool of the hotel across the street. I would certainly consider staying here again.
Personally, I couldn't fault anything. Some might say that it is a pity there is no tv in the rooms, but for me this is an advantage. Kalymnos isn't an island for people with mobility issues because of its topography; also this hotel is located in a rather steep street.

Verified reviewEverything ! Room packed a punch for its size with many elements to make it comfortable. Daily housekeeping was impeccable and timely . Comfortable beds , tight shower which is norm but enough nooks and cranny’s for your stuff throughout. Great location with a few restaurants that were great and beautiful beaches . Nice balcony to enjoy views of sea and Mtn.. Great A/ C. Hosts ( Panos , Manos and their dad ) were always welcoming , helpful , while keeping up with everything to make sure all was good. The garden they have in back is scenic in itself with bar and drinks . We enjoyed their homemade pizza with a bottle of vino , but the drinks looked fantastic. They obviously take a lot of pride in making sure everything is done the best way possible and seem to appreciate our business.
Small uphill hike to bus and grocery store but needed the exercise.

Verified reviewWe have just completed our 13 night stay at this wonderful hotel. The owner, his brother and sons are so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The rooms are fantastic with everything you could possibly need and spotless being cleaned six days a week. The bar, patio and gardens are a true oasis of beauty and colour. Location is fantastic with access to everything. Best Hotel and people on the island and we would not consider staying anywhere else when we return to Kalymnos. Thanks for everything Neil & Lesley.

Verified reviewFamily run accommodation. Clean and nicely presented. Nice shaded courtyard under bourgainvillea for an afternoon, drink, cards, quiet read etc (we bought drinks from supermarket as bar not open till 6 pm).
It was very misleading when booking this accommodation, it said Air con available. On arrival, we were advised it was an extra 6 euro per room per night. As we had multiple rooms and nights ….. this would be quite an additional charge. On discussing this with staff, they said it was not their fault but the booking agent fault. They said many others tell them of this also. However, It is up to them to sort their advertising out with the booking sites. All other accommodation we stayed at on this island, Kos and Symi had air con included. Also, a missed opportunity for the hotel to serve afternoon drinks for guests as bar did not open till 6pm.
Good evening, First of all we would like to point out that in the tab <<THE FINE PRINT>> on our page in Booking.com it is clearly indicated that there is a separate charge for air conditioning which is 6 €. This information was visible to you when you made your booking. On your arrival we mentioned again that there is a separate charge for air conditioning. One day later you asked to purchase the air conditioning for one room only and we gave you a remote control. Without mentioning anything you used this remote control to ILLEGALLY activate the air conditioning in the other three rooms you had booked in your reservation. When we told you that there would be an extra charge for the days you ILLEGALLY used the air conditioning the man we spoke with accepted it and admitted that he used the air conditioning in the other rooms without asking for it. He also stated that he only turned on the air conditioning for ten minutes which was LIE as the program we have installed to check the air conditioning showed us that in all 4 rooms the air conditioning was on all night. Also, every morning you emptied the air-conditioning water containers thinking that we would not notice the ILLEGAL use of the air-conditioning. You thought to complain about the air conditioning a few minutes before your departure from the hotel and despite the financial loss you caused us from the UNLAWFUL use of the air conditioning, we charged you for the air conditioning only for the room you requested in the beginning. Believe us if you had done this ILLEGAL act at any other hotel their reaction would not have been as calm and polite as ours. Regarding the issue you raised about the bar hours which are closed from 3pm to 6pm we believe it is reasonable to have some rest hours, but you too while sitting at our garden tables and during bar hours NEVER ordered a single drink during your entire holiday. For our part we are sad that we had to apologise for your own mistakes but we felt sad and cheated as your review was based on lies and your rating was unfair in relation to what we provided. Verified reviewWonderful garden where to have breakfast or drinks at night. Very good position, beach at walking distance and many restaurants around (Fountagio my favourite!). Also good for the car that you can avoid doing Massouri city loop everytime. Rooms was clean. Breakfast was very good! Even cappuccino met our italian standards

Verified reviewThe staff was amazingly polite and welcoming, taking care of all our needs. The hotel is well situated near to beaches and restaurants. We loved the beautiful garden which provided delicious drinks and athmosphere.

Verified reviewThe hotel and staff where outstanding , exceptional attention to detail at all times, went over and beyond. The hotel is a little haven , so relaxing and tranquil . The care they take over each guest makes the stay so personal. The gardens are wonderful and a joy to sit in.
