How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI had the most incredible experience staying at this stunning villa near Elafonisi in Crete. The villa itself is spacious and beautifully maintained, offering plenty of room to relax and unwind. One of the highlights was the gorgeous pool, where I could enjoy breathtaking sunsets every evening—truly a magical experience! The location is perfect, just steps away from the shop and the best restaurants in the area, which made everything incredibly convenient. The host was absolutely fantastic. She went above and beyond to help me in every situation, making me feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout my stay. If you’re looking for the ideal place to stay near Elafonisi, I can’t recommend this villa enough. A perfect combination of comfort, beauty, and outstanding hospitality!

Verified reviewThere are many positives about Nireides Villas (pool, location, cleanliness etc) but one of the top ones has to be Maja who administers the small complex of 4 buildings. She has a beautiful personality and is so helpful, doing everything she can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Nothing is ever too much for her and she responds to any queries immediately. (She even brought me a needle and thread to do some hasty sewing repairs!) Dealing with such a warm and friendly person only enhances being in such a beautiful location which is why my 9/10 is bumped up to a 10/10. The rooms are super clean (Spasiba Mama! 😊 ) and the beds are comfortable. The windows having shutters making the bedrooms dark makes for a very good night's sleep.
The one area that needs improvement is the WiFi which is very slow at a maximum 7 Mb/s. Going upstairs it would sometimes die altogether. This is a relatively inexpensive and easy fix as there are 5G masts in the area. Using mobile data we were getting 300 Mb/s plus. A full oven would make the kitchen perfect though the mini oven supplied gets the job done.

Verified reviewBeautiful 2-floors-villa with swimming pool and sea view, located very close to the wonderful beach of Elafonisi (around 4,5km faraway). 2 wide bedrooms with balcony, one of which had 2 single beds; 2 bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen and a wide dining room with TV. Very clean. Suitable for a family or a couple.
Maybe the double bed could be bigger. The hairdryer was missing.

Verified reviewThe location is perfect to explore the Elefonisi area. Elafonisi beach is ok, but is a tourist trap. We went to some other beaches nearby that were awesome. A few good restaurants close by, and a mini market with some essentials. The pool was great, actually, the pool and location are the only good things about this property.
We arrived a little late (20h) due to our flight. The keys were in the front door. We asked for a cot bed - wasn't there. Had to message the host for the cot bed, while our son slept in the pram. Also, the host set up the cot bed in the kitchen/living room, which we had to carry upstairs (where both bedrooms are). The refrigerator wasn't working properly (probably due to the fact it was off for some time) The house has no essential amenities, only has Linen and toilet rolls. 1 or 2 pots. a few dishes. spoons and forks, and only 2 knifes (a small pairing knife and a large bread knife) how are we suppose to eat with a bread knife? No cleaning supplies (if you drop something on the floor, grab the toilet paper and dishsoap to clean it) No kitchen towels or kitchen rolls. We're lucky enough to get toilet paper. No local information about anything. We had to ask the waiter in the restaurant for some cool spots. Apparently some of the hosts family live in one of the properties (we think, not sure). But one of the other guests had to come outside to the pool area and tell the family to keep it down at 22h30 on a Thursday, because some of the hosts kids were jumping on the pool and making a lot of noise. We weren't upset by it, because our toddler was already asleep and is a heavy sleeper, but beware. Overall, We had the feeling that the host does not care about guests, just easy money for 4 walls and a pool.

Verified reviewThis was our fourth stay at Nireides Villas, we really love staying here. The villas are lovely, with a large living area downstairs and 2 double bedrooms upstairs. There are also 2 bathrooms, and the place is spotlessly clean. The communal pool is a highlight, being large and deep enough to properly swim in and there are 3 tavernas and 2 supermarkets within walking distance, Elafonisi beach is 5 minutes drive.
Can’t think of anything.

Verified reviewWe loved to have a place to stay close to Elafonisi which gave us the chance to visit the beach (only 8 min by car) early in the morning or later in the afternoon when there are fewer people. The kids especially loved the pool which even has a smaller pool for non-swimmers. There is a mini market right next to the house, there are no bigger supermarkets in the area so the choices are a bit limited which wasn't a problem for us. There are two tavernas around the corner and a pizza place. The house itself is well equipped and we really enjoyed our stay there.

Verified reviewBeautiful accommodation. Very spacious and well equipped. We loved the flexibility afforded by the outside spaces and could find a sunny spot at all times of the day. The pool looked incredibly inviting but was too cool mid-oct. The sunsets were spectacular with great views from the upstairs balcony.
Nothing to dislike.

Verified reviewThe pool, the sunset, nice neighbours, friendly mini-market, generally nice place and nice staff.
Not great cooking utensils, no toilet paper, have to be a contortionist to reach the toilet paper. Ahh, nothing serious.

Verified reviewThis was our third stay at Nireides. The villas are spacious with a well equipped kitchen, balconies and 2 bathrooms. Having a pool to jump into first thing in the morning is also great. Elafonisis beach is a 5 minute car journey away and there a few other smaller, less crowded beaches in the vicinity. There is a choice of 3 tavernas within a 5 minute walk. We really like it here and expect to return next year.
A washing machine would be nice for an extended stay, can‘t think of anything else.
