Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Would have been nice to have a kettle and if there was a shower Curtain to provide a bit of privacy on the shower.
The hosts organised the airport transfer to the accommodation. The rooms were cleaned everyday. Good location close to town and the beaches. AC worked well.

The lock and key on the door was often smarter than me, and proved a little tricky but that was likely user error.
The family was lovely, and the room was exactly what I needed. There was a market and a bakery was close by. The bus stop in Fabrika was an easy walk to get everywhere.

It was close to the center and the room was extremely clean. The host, Erasmia is a very nice and kind person. She wrote everything and every detail before we even asked. There was a nicely decorated garden, with an old tiny dog and fluffy rabbit. Thanks for everything, Erasmia.

I loved everything. Only issue I had was the shower head fell out of its holder a couple of times whenever the water temperature or pressure would change.
It was perfect walking distance to the city and the airport m! Clean and comfortable and exactly what you need for a brief stay

The only negative was being close to a main road. A kettle in the room would have been nice.
Sourmeli garden at Old Mykonos was basic but clean and comfortable. It was a little oasis although being close to a road. The owners had made it very beautiful with a lovely place to have breakfast which was very good. It was a short walk to the town but not very pleasant with the traffic. Fortunately it is on a bus route which made the location convenient. The hosts were very kind and helpful.

The facilities are not of a 5-star hotel, so some things in the room could be better, but we were not bothered by it at all. Everything was clean and the host was willing to address any concerns.
Great place for a great price. The staff is amazing, very friendly and helpful. The host always made sure we were comfortable during our stay. Located within a walking distance of the city center, right outside all the noise, so you can definitely count on resting in peace. A bus stop to the beach and a grocery store just around the corner. There's also a very nice bakery and a beautiful greek restaurant nearby (both very affordable and delicious), which we found to be much better than anything in the center. Overall, would definitely recommend to my friends and anyone looking for something more authentic and personal than luxury hotels with parties or simply an affordable comfortable stay in Mykonos. Would come back!

I recently stayed at the Old Mykonos hotel during my visit to the island in August. This family-owned business is simple but spotlessly clean, with the typical white-washed walls that define the island's aesthetic. The rooms are spread across several small, separate buildings, each with its own terrace, designed in the traditional Greek style. The island of Mykonos can be overprized in August, but compared to other options, the Old Mykonos Hotel offers good value. The hotel is just a 15-20-minute walk from the city center along the main road - and is far enough away from the party scene to ensure a peaceful night's sleep. The owner, Erasmia, was incredibly welcoming and helpful, contacting a driver to get me from the airport, offering very personal recommendations on the island and even assisting me when I forgot something at the hotel. While I probably wouldn’t return to Mykonos (the island) in August, I'd definitely choose Old Mykonos Hotel again if I did.

Wifi didn’t really work in our room but other than that all was good.
Absolutely amazing hospitality from the owners, honestly such friendly people which made our stay. Decently priced compared to other such places here in Mykonos and also great aircon.

Just a short walk to the city and the beach. The beach was not the best. I cut myself on the beach(rocks in the water) and so did other ppl aswell. But that is the only thing I can say about the surrounding. As far as the old Mykonos it was so nice everything.
The owners are so nice and caring. Really felt like home.
