Perfect for our princess

Spectacular views from our room and breathtaking views from our balcony, lovely swimming pool for our 7 year old, lovely local taverns with delicious authentic Greek food. The owners are very friendly, accommodating, and helpful.

Even though we loved the location, the nearby beach is covered in large stones (not just pebbles), which made it a bit uncomfortable. We had a car, so it wasn’t a big issue for us - we just drove to another part of the coast to find a beach that suited us better. The rooms were cleaned daily, or at least the trash was emptied regularly. However, when we first arrived, there was leftover sand in the shower, so I had to clean it myself before using it. Also, the shower curtains didn’t seem to be washed between guests. They looked clean enough, but it still felt a bit unhygienic. That said, for the price, it’s still a great place to stay!

My mom and I stayed here for almost two weeks and we really enjoyed our time. The location is perfect for anyone who appreciates peace and quiet. It’s just a 7-minute walk from the main street with all the shops and all-inclusive hotels, but far enough away that you don’t get caught up in the hustle. The staff were attentive but gave us space when they sensed that’s what we preferred, which was perfect! We loved waking up to such a beautiful view — fields, mountains, and the sea. From our room, we could see both the sunrise and the sunset, which was absolutely divine.

Not much really.

We didn't land until late, as a result we didn't make it to the hotel until past 2am. The proprietor waited in reception until we arrived and even helped us up to the room with our bags. The room was excellent, very comfy, well appointed and we wanted for nothing. There was even a complimentary bottle of wine in our room on arrival - Nice touch. There was plenty of interaction between hosts and guests and plenty of sweet gifts for the children, the staff were attentive without being intrusive nor unavailable and the service was excellent all round. The pool area was excellent with plenty of loungers and loads of toys for the kids to play with. With it being a smaller hotel, it had a lovely intimate feel to it. Would I go again? Absolutely!

I have mobility issues so we booked this hotel as it had a large pool. I like to walk up and down in the pool for an hour a day. Sadly there was nowhere to walk in the pool as immediately you enter the pool it has just 1 foot width which is in depth and then immediately goes out of your depth so nowhere to walk or to play pool games. I did try to walk alongside the wall but you then have to go under a fountain in the centre and it wasn't really possible to stay on the shallow part as it was so narrow. I didn't think to ask about this before booking as I have never come across a pool where there is no walking space before. There is a kiddies area of the pool at the end but that was too shallow for an adult to walk up and down. There were plenty of sunbeds but unfortunately too low for someone with an artificial hip to get down to and get up from again so I could not use them. This meant that we didn't get to use the pool apart from one short swim on the first day when I found out I couldn't walk. The pool was one of the main reasons we booked this hotel so that was dissapointing. The wifi was extremely intermittent and not strong enough to upload the iphone photos of the day to icloud. It was also impossible to watch anything on YouTube which we wanted to do as we were still researching where else we would travel in Crete during our stay. Perhaps they could install an internet mesh system that actually works? The kitchenette was very poorly stocked, no washing up cloth or sponge, no tea towel, very poor quality cutlery with not even a sharp knife. Only a kettle and a fridge and small stove top. We had to go and buy a teatowel, washing up sponge and sharp knife from the local supermarket. This made the hotel feel cheap which is so sad as with just a tiny bit of money spent on nicer utensils the whole place could be fabulous!!

Samuel and the staff were extremely friendly and responsive to our every need and communication was very good before our stay ensuring I was allocated a room that was suitable for my disability. Our apartment had a fabulous terrace with stunning views of the mountains. It was right next to the pool with distant views of the sea, which we could also see from the 3 windows in the lounge. The cleaning was of impeccable standard by a very friendly and polite girl called Dimitra, she was superb! We were surprised to find that cleaning was offered every day with sheets changed when necessary and fresh towels on our third day. The hotel was very quiet with respectful guests, you could hear road noise from the outside terraces but not from inside the room but even outside it was not intrusive.

We loved everything.

The host Ssnuel and his lovely wife Rena were amazing They made us feel so welcome. The room we had (33) had a terrace overlooking fields and the sea. We loved the rurL aspect. The goats in the next field with their bells were great to have nearby. It is a ten minute walk to the nearest shops, restaurants and beach. Ryhthymno is the most beautiful old town we have ever been to. For €8 each the breakfast was very good value for money.

Absolutelu NOTHING!

Beautiful, excessively clean place, run by young, loving, beautiful, helpful family. Wide view from the huge balcony on the mountains, sea, pool. Peace&quiet. Nearby you can find unusual place -Kournas Lake - with cristallic, warm water, and slopes deriving from it. No crowds. Also nearby you can choose among pool parties, karaoke parties, promenade with homemade traditional cuisine. We also encountered flock of sheeps returning home in the evening:-)) Very safe, romantic, peaceful place. First time we regreted we couldn't have stayed longer. Never more crowded hotels. My best stay in Greece, which I have visited maaany times. I will be back in October. And next year:-))

One of the best hotels we've stayed in - the owners are very friendly and super helpful. The room was spacious and clean and had everything you need. Glasses, plates, pots, mini fridge and air-conditioning which was so useful! The pool area was the best part. It's clean and never crowded and the view was amazing. There's parking spaces as well which was very helpful as we've rented a car. Also, everything is close by such as supermarkets, petrol station and restaurants. Can't wait to go back 😁

Lovely family hotel in Kavros, good hospitality. Quiet position, 10 mins to local restaurants, bus, mini train. Car hire helps with local exploration. Kournas Lake never fails to q

I can't express with words how wonderful our stay was. Everything was exceptional. Samuel and Rena are one of the nicest loveliest hosts I've ever met. Samuel helped us with everything, he's a man with a big heart! The room and the pool were also really clean, very professional in every way! Also, there is a beautiful sandy beach close to the hotel which we really enjoyed.Thank you for everything, I hope to come again! 🙏 💕 10/10 would recommend.

We liked the pool because it was a good size for chilling and playing. We also liked the bar service poolside. The owners and staff were all very friendly and welcoming, including their young daughter! The accommodation was very clean and practical and we were given anything extra we needed. Overall, we thought the warm family atmosphere made us feel relaxed, and we were able to enjoy our holiday to its full potential.

Great small hotel with a swimming pool. Big comfy rooms with a nice balcony. Clean and well taken care of. Our daughter especially enjoyed the swimming pool which was the main reason we booked it. No complaints whatsoever. Location is ideal if you have a car as the property is a little bit out of the way.
