How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewRoom was comfortable, clean and well appointed. The beach was also great, including the beach bar service. Although the sandy part of the cove is a little small there is a long stretch to walk along surrounding coves etc.
I think the evening lounge entertainment is nice but ends fairly early. We had to switch rooms due to availability issues and was surprised to learn not all rooms are provided with bottled water daily.

Verified reviewWe had the most wonderful experience at this hotel. Our room had a stunning beach view – waking up to the sound of the waves each morning was absolutely magical. The setting couldn’t be better, and it immediately put us into holiday mode. The food was a true highlight. The breakfast buffet was the best I have ever had – an incredible spread with something for everyone, from fresh fruit and pastries to local Cretan specialties, all beautifully prepared. Every meal we had here was delicious, showcasing authentic flavours that made us fall in love with Cretan cuisine. The ice cream and waffles parlour on site was a huge hit, especially with my child – such a treat to have this kind of indulgence just a few steps away. The facilities are wonderfully child-friendly, making it easy to relax and enjoy family time. From thoughtful play areas to the welcoming atmosphere. Finally, the staff truly made the difference. Every single person we encountered went the extra mile to make our stay special. Their warmth, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality were remarkable – we felt looked after in every way. We’re sorry to hear that the pricing for drinks felt excessive and that the à la carte options didn’t stand out. Your comments on bottled water and environmental impact are especially appreciated — we’re actively looking into better solutions that reduce waste while still offering comfort and convenience to our guests. We would really prefer to offer only bottled water in our resort, but as we purchase only from local supppliers, they have great difficulties covering the demand. As for the transport and photographer experience, that’s certainly not the tone we aim for. Staff could be more attentive, allround better service can expected for 5 stars. The pools were not kept very clean. More surface level…but they are very large and makes it hard for staff.

Verified reviewReception on arrival, friendly, prompt check in, lovely drink. The Food at Mezze. Proximity to the Sea. The Design elements, furniture, plants etc.. Staff - some staff were friendly, helpful and gorgeous! In particular the guys around reception :) However this is not a widespread culture throughout the hotel, see below. The air con in the rooms is heavenly! so needed in the hotter days. The beach bar setting is amazing to watch the sunset..
Cleanliness - patio furniture dirty and covered in ants, tables around pool side sunbeds sticky, Daily room clean so appalling my teenage sons took to hiding peanuts to see if they got cleaned up...they didnt :( Attitude of cleaning staff who even scared the pants off my teenage boys shouting 'out' when they arrived in the morning...nice! The 'militarian' attitude of staff at Mezze. Hello..we are on holiday..lighten up..you are a posh pool cafe..!! The inflexibility of hotel restaurants..you just arrived...long day travelling.. you have 2 teenage sons..and everywhere is 'reservation only' or closing early..apart from the expensive restaurant..interestingly. No chilled water on tap for guests (These days a given in most decent hotels), meaning you purchase more plastic bottles..super eco friendly. Staff - some amazing..some miserable and rude, for instance the gentleman at breakfast who not once said 'good morning' and whisked away chairs from my table without asking first if anyone was sitting there. Towels & belongings whisked away off your sunbed should you 'linger' at the Ice cream hut. Teenage areas, outside cinema etc are dead. No kids in sight. Equipment hit and miss. QR codes for EVERYTHING! annoying, some prices I noticed changed (more expensive not less) ..Leave your phone? forget your secret code..? oh dear. Pools - whilst gorgeous in design are not for adults at all. There is no pool for actually swimming in. The lazy river pool is surrounded by empty 'reserved' sun beds whilst guests visiting it put their belongings on the floor. The charge for in room coffee :( Nespresso pods are not such a luxury anymore..surely one per day is not too much to ask. Wine by the glass.I love to support local produce etc..but having in most places only Cretan wines for sale by the glass is not great. That no one was laughing and having a good time..very strained..no buzz, no vibe and no atmosphere.

The cleaners were friendly, the service staff at the Mezze restaurant, especially Olga, were wonderful and took care of personal details. The staff at the spa were also wonderful and were accommodating, friendly, and attentive to our needs.
I didn't quite like that I saw some cobwebs at the corner of the room, and in the light fixtures, and that the floors weren't clean enough upon arrival. However, I do understand that due to the type of flooring, it is not easy to see dirt and sand easily, and that spiderwebs do form overnight. Therefore, it was an honest mistake, and I did address the floors and they were taken care of.

Verified reviewVery family friendly (loads of families with babies and very young children which some might put as a negative), abundance at breakfast, most of the staff exceptionally focused on guest’s wellbeing. Beautiful welcome and a beach bar to die for. VIP treatment for everyone. Facilities look beautiful all around.
The beach is rocky. Mezze restaurant did reject us as a walk in, with 70% of tables available. Management should allocate a little more time for room maintenance (beach sand and 3 people in a room required more time than the staff has). 20€ fee for a late check out seems a bit odd.

The Spa is a miss opportunity, too small and not options available like sauna, steam, hydrotherapy lease some of the equipment that the wellness center should have for a quality for this beautiful hotel.
