How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The lift is very small, so it can be a squeeze with large luggage.
Excellent value family-run hotel in an excellent location in central Plaka. Great air-conditioning. The roof terrace with the view of the Acropolis is incredible!

Convenient location, it was in the Plaka. Restaurants, shopping and monuments just outside the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Family owned since 1962. Rooms and common areas very clean. Rooftop views amazing.

There was no kettle and the room was very small, but overall it was good.
Great location to visit Athens, wonderful views of the Acropolis and good value for money. The staff was very nice.

It would be nice if they could at least put a bottle of water in their minibar. I couldn't imagine not having one, I was left without water all night :)
Perfect location, spotlessly clean room. In the double room with balcony, you can enjoy the huge balcony and the wonderful city/Acropolis view.

Great area to stay in, walkable to all of the sights. Great restaurants and shopping right at your doorstep. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. Small, but we didn’t spend a lot of time there. I would stay here again.

Phaedra Hotel is an absolute gem. Delightful staff, no frills, really comfortable, spotlessly clean little hotel right in the heart of Athens. We had a balcony, which was a treat. Head out of the front door go left for about 40m and right there on the opposite corner is a fabulous little cafe. Sit on the benches there in the square and I bet you’ll be back for lunch.

The photos don’t really match what the room looks like in real life. Didn’t really have a view of the acropolis, very small room and bathroom. Staff weren’t really that friendly either. Although was fine for 1 night. I wouldn’t stay longer though.
Location is excellent. Room was really clean. Has everything you need for one nights stay.

My view of the acropolis was of the back side, which I didn't realize when I booked the room with an acropolis view. But perhaps I should have known based ont he price. Also, the bed wasn't very comfortable – too hard for me.
The location was perfect – right in the center of all the action of the Plaka. I ended up walking everywhere I wanted to go, no metro necessary. The room was very small but had everything I needed. The staff was friendly and attentive.

The bathroom is separate (as advertised) however it is very hot. Okay for a short stay but would be uncomfortable for an extended stay

Noise travelled a bit through the doors so I could hear people getting back into their rooms during the night. Other than that I enjoyed my stay.
Hotel had a great central location right next to the Acropolis and in right in the heart of shops and restaurants. It has a beautiful rooftop and has stunning 360 views over the city. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The property isn’t modern, but had everything I needed for my stay including a small fridge.

The bed was very comfy and my room had a lovely balcony. The location was excellent for restaurants and shops, also very close to the acropolis. The view was great and the atmosphere lively. The metro at Syntagama was a short walk from the hotel, which as very convenient. I would definitely stay here again.

Nothing to dislike for this price range.
Our last night in Athens so this was the perfect, budget conscious choice for us. Location is great. Views are a bonus. Rooftop lovely. Rooms are small but perfectly fine. 24hr reception good to have.
