Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe toilet flush was a bit slow, and the owner explained that the water pressure is not good in Nafplio. But, of course, it was manageable.
It was comfortable & the wifi was excellent. The two sisters who own the hotel were welcoming & SO genuinely friendly. The house was built in 1800, but only recently converted into a hotel. Location - fantastic - but, then, that's why I booked it ! The coastal walk to the massive Karathonas Beach is absolutely beautiful.

South AfricaThe noise from the room.above was terrible. Every bit of movement and walking was extreme. I am aware that it is a traditional old building which is lovely but the rattling and metal sounds which went on till 1.00 in the morning was crazy. There also seemed to be no aircon.
The position of the accommodation.

PolandThis is not hotel's fault but - If you will be during the weekend note that there maybe parties going around or just loud tourists and old windows are not that soundproof

FranceBoth of the sisters who operate the hotel were warm and welcoming, and were very accommodating throughout our stay. The hotel has a fantastic location, within the historic and touristic part of Nafplion, less than a minute away from multiple shops and restaurants, but is in a slightly less busy street making it surprisingly quiet and comfortable.

United StatesWarning: the hostess has a mean side, and I inadvertently found it by insisting that I needed help to operate the TV, which help I only got from an employee who kindly instructed me the next day. There is a tiny window in the room and in the bath. Both are set back in a deep wall and are far above anyone's head. A long pole is provided to awkwardly poke these shut or open as ventilation requires. So this room has no view of anything. The conversations from the street can be heard quite well, however. Fortunately, the street was mostly quiet. But, the next door room could be all too clearly heard at 3:00 am.
We chose this because it was very close to the bus station. Our room was on the first floor so there were not too many stairs. We were comfortable. All was clean. The decor is a charming grandmother-style. It is a good value. Be aware that there is often no staff in the building.

United KingdomOur room only had a tiny window that you could only open with a stick. The rooms were also not sound proof and we could hear other rooms as well as hotel staff. While the lady when we arrived was very accommodating and considerate, the lady on the second day was on the phone since 8:30 am constantly and we could hear everything which woke us up.
Location was great, building was interesting and traditional.

United StatesLots of steep stairs. The room was fairly small. My room had a window (with effort could open out into an alley. ) (I used the air conditioning unit for fresh air)(Some I peeked into didn't). After the greeting, someone was only rarely in the lobby for questions
I hotel was in the center of the action. It was very close to the bus drop off. I was close to many nice restaurants near the water. I was greeted warmly. The lobby is like a family living room. I was given the key to come and go. Breakfast was in the pretty alley with donuts and and egg. A toasted cheese and ham sandwich seems to be a local addition. The bathroom was magnificent! It had a deep bathtub ... that I soaked in. There were interesting items on the stairs and landings. Care had been taken in the decorating. There was a nice air conditioning unit.
