How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.

Verified reviewWe had an excellent week at Romania Villa. The villa was exceptionally well equipped for everything you could need and was absolutely spotless. The villa was cleaned daily and the pool checked every other day. We hired a car to explore the island and found getting to supermarkets and restaurants very easy. The airport is also close by. We are already wondering when we can return. Thank you!

A special thank you to Mario for his warm hospitality and helpful recommendations on local attractions. He went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Alexandra was also wonderful, keeping the villa spotless throughout our stay. Her homemade treats were a delightful surprise and added a personal touch to our experience. We highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for an unforgettable vacation experience. We can’t wait to return!

The hospitality was outstanding, we were greeted at the villa and our lovely hosts were very kind and generous with baked treats! The villa and the grounds were maintained on a daily basis. Verified reviewWe liked everything, the island, the property, the beaches. The owners are extremely caring, helpful, and kind and provided us a wonderful hospitality. The house is beautiful, wonderfully built with stone and marble, very comfortable and well decorated with all amenities and also excellent internet access, and located in a quiet area. The swimming-pool is also beautiful, very pleasant, the kids (14 and 10) spent hours playing in it and it was very relaxing to sunbathe next to it. The closest beach (2 mn drive) was very nice, large with clean water. There are plenty of restaurants around with various qualities and the pieces of advice of the owners have been very useful. It's better to have a car for shopping, going to the beach, or touring in the island. I am very sensitive to the noise and during our stay (mid-August) there was no noise at night probably because the house is in a residential area far away from the clubbing spots. We had a perfect family stay and hope to come back again !

Verified reviewAbsolutely amazing villa situated in a great location. It's a 10 minute drive to Laganos and 10 minutes to Zante town so there's lots to do. The villa itself is stunning as you can see from the photos so I will let them speak for themselves. The hosts were extremely welcoming and accommodating. Mario was brilliant as he helped organise transport and recommended activities. Whilst Alexandra ensured the villa was spotless on our return home and even went out of her way to cook extra food during our BBQ and also drove us to the local supermarket for a small food shop. Overall amazing hosts and amazing villa ! Would 100% recommend to anyone looking to stay in Zante!

The villa is such a beautiful place, everything was super clean, plenty of amenities available, an awesome pool, the ideal location if you want to fully relax. On top of that Marios and his parents are the absolute best hosts you could ever imagine. They came to pick us up from the airport, helped arrange boat tours, drove us to the supermarket and car rental place and were constantly available for questions. Moreover, Marios' mom brought us home baked pastries every day! :) And to top it off: one of our group lost his SmartWatch in the sea during a boat trip, the captain managed to find it the next day and gave it to Marios who then brought it back to us! If you're looking for a place to stay on Zakynthos, don't look any further! :)
