How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Nice, clean room with a balcony. Close to city centre, there is a supermarket nearby, to the metro station by walk in 12 minutes. The room and the shared spaces are very simple, but nice for the amount of paid money. There is also AC in the room, which is perfect for a hot summer night in Athens. The owner is a very kind man and explains everything very nicely

The rooms are not to well maintained, the furniture and the appliances are pretty old. We chose not to take a shower, because the bathroom didn’t look too clean.
The price was very cheap and the location being so central and easy accessible.

Kitchen and bathroom are shared but spacious, but bathroom didn't even have hand soap - could definitely do with a good clean and fix up.
Good location and public transport nearby right next to a Lidl, cafes and restaurants Friendly host Balcony was good Photos match what you get in real life - pretty standard/good for how cheap the place is :)

For the price, very good value. Thank you, Sergi.
Sergio was a lovely guy who meets and greets you around the corner from the apt. The cost for a very clean room close to the transport option was worth it. If you turn left at the apt and walk to the end of the street and turn right, there are regular buses, 3 stops to metro station syngrou Fix which takes you anywhere. Retro furniture, no frills but clean.

bathroom had spills on the floor and was a bit dirty after some people used it. Also the kitchen had some leftover food around.

The bed was little bit not comfortable, not so bad and not so good!
I liked the staff and the cleanliness of the room. AC was working good, and it helped in such cold weather these days. I liked owner's helping when I needed to do something in the kitchen. He was very helpful man and so nice. Guests were welcoming and helpful as well.

Actually nothing was really bad that I would consider for a negative review! The only thing which a guest should think of, it is a shared apartment with other travelers, so if you are not comfortable with sharing you may not like it.
It was good enough for our expectation. The price was very good. The location was also good. The guy was nice and helpful. He even organized our Taxi to the Airport when leaving.

The noise. I can clearly hear everything in the corridor. And the check in time was until 7pm…They didn’t even want to let me check in at 7:55pm. They only let me in after I begged them hard.
It’s very practical and good for sleeping for one night. It has a kitchen with a microwave.

As a solo traveller, it was great for my needs, but the timer on the bathroom for hot water is not brilliant.
The room is basic, but the bed is very comfortable. It's close to Lidl supermarket and a very nice pizza place nearby. Sergei (hope I spelt this write) is very friendly and made me feel very welcome.

The host is a great and welcoming person. He met us and showed us around. It works more like a hostel - there are 5 rooms in the apartment. Sergey has spent some time with us, we talked. He was nice and friendly.

There is only one common bathroom cum toilet for all to share. Fortunately, our timing doesn’t clash as much, making it bearable.
Easy to get to places by public transport Host is easy to contact and will respond quite fast as well as gives necessary information when asked. Accessibility is good — can walk to Syntagma as a form of exercise

Fantastic host, whom was very helpful and welcoming. Room and facilities more than applicable for the stay, as a young solo traveller the 20 minute walk to the center was absolutely fine and plenty of buses and trams nearby. Value for money was great in my opinion.
