How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe staff was really friendly, relaxed and available. They organized many things for kids, which was nice.
It was my first time in glamping. The tents were of course not soundproof, so we could hear everything: closeby disco, 4 am really loud roosters, stormy winds shaking the tebt. I barely slept. Also, bothered by the light in the morning. The showers were hot only once. The rest of the time we took cold ones.

Verified reviewIt was a great experience, the atmosphere and people are so welcoming and sweet. Breakfast was great. You can also rent a bicycle for free, to get to the nearby beach :)
The AC in the smaller tent (Argo) is not really sufficient during the day when the sun is shining, it gets too hot inside the tent.

Verified reviewThe location was really good, it was peaceful, far from the busy type of tourist town, close to the beach, to all the towns of Kos with the car. The property is managed by a Family who are very kind. The place feels like home in the province. They organized everyday activities for children & adults as well. I had this phobia of crawling insects and the owner himself made it as quickly as possible to move us to another Tent.
There were millions of caterpillars, the owner told they come once in 3-4 years and it happened when we were there.. they went inside the Tents, for the others was not a problem but I have this phobia of crawling insects, like everybody else who have phobias, of course I panicked.

Verified reviewFood was great. There are vegan options btw.
In the middle of the night I woke up coz of people’s noise. It was 4 am!!!

Verified reviewGlamping tents are very well equipped The swimminpool is nice The breakfast is very good, and the team adapted a lot of the things for our vegan requests
The area around the tents is not very well cured and we had a view on uncured lawn with some water tanks and an old van. If the surrounding environment was better, you could enjoy more the little terrace on your tent The reserved beach was not maintained and there was no facility (maybe because it was second half of sep). Everyone could go and pick a chair or umbrella. There are better beaches around the island. Our bed was. It very comfy.

Hi Dominik, Thankyou for the review, I'm sorry that you did not enjoy our restaurant, we would just like to let you know that we offer Greek coffee on our menu all through out the day and I apologise if that was not clear. We also offer a lot of Greek food, and other options to cater to everyone's needs.

Verified reviewGreat place to stay for a Glamping experience in Kos. Eating in the Restaurant was a Highlight! Amazing staff and the food was next level. The Chef there seems to be some kind of 5 Star cook specializing in dishes I like to eat amazingly. Never tasted better chips and the Fish n Chips maybe the best I've had to....which is a big statement for me.

Verified reviewReally good healthy breakfast served by super efficient friendly young staff. The whole place has a very relaxed and can do vibe. I had an excellent massage from Maria as an extra, and we enjoyed dinner on site every evening after a drink at the tent or poolside. It was near a good beach a short walk through agricultural land. Beds were super comfy& nice linen.
I’d love to have a proper barista style Aussie coffee in Greece! The cappuccino was bitter. Nearby hotels have some v noisy music but it’s not the fault of Sails who provide a relaxed atmosphere. The pool is very child and family friendly with loads of inflatables etc. It was hard to find a moment in the open hours to calmly swim. Maybe there could be some early or late swim shifts for no inflatables….

Verified reviewWe loved our stay at Sails on Kos. A wonderful place, tranquil. They have nice activities throughout the week, good food, friendly staff and a beautiful place. The tent (Argo) was good, well equipped and large enough to stand in. We rented e-bikes, which was a fun way to explore more of the island. Every morning, there was a breakfast which was delicious, many options. We would definitely recommend staying here.
Maybe a small mirror in the tent. Other than that, no comments!

Verified reviewThe Location is beautiful. But it‘s about 15 minutes walking to the nearest beach. Anyways you can rent a bike for free.
The staff was unfriendly. We didn‘t feel welcome. The staff was more likely to chill at the bar and talking to each other instead of paying attention to their guests. The tent was very hot in the summer. There is a fan but it doesn‘t change anything. You shouldn’t trust the fans quality. During the daytime it‘s impossible to stay in the tent. There is a Showerroom and a toilet but you can not lock it and the water from the shower couldn‘t drain away. But the food was very good! because of these circumstances we stayed there only 1 night instead of 3 nights. After telling the staff we want to leave, some were kind and asked if they can do something for us and others just said „have fun“. It doesn‘t seem that the staff is wanting their guests to have a nice stay. It‘s more likely that they don‘t care and just want a good time for themselves.
We are truly sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us. At the same time we value your input because this helps us improve Sails on Kos. There are two points in your review which we would like to respond to, for your benefit but as well as future readers to have a better understanding. The hot temperature in the tent You had chosen the Argo tent, our smallest and cheapest tent out of 5 size / price options. This tent has an interior space of 3m X 4m = 12m2. Because we are a campsite with tents and not a conventional hotel we understand that they cannot be cooled with regular air conditioners and because of this we dont advertise air conditioning. The possible heat and differences with our tents and hotel rooms is also reflected in our prices. We provide evaporative air coolers chilled by circulating water. The smallest cooler is for rooms of 18 to 24 m2. bigger tents have more and bigger coolers. Guests that know camping understand that it is not possible / futile to use traditional airconditioners. At the same time August is the middle of summer and during a heat wave and temperatures are high everywhere on Kos, Everywhere you go it is uncomfortably hot with temperatures of 35C. It is especially unfortunate that you didnt mention that you were struggling with the heat. We have purchased extra iceblocks to fit into the air coolers to further help with the heat in the tents and they are available at reception. Unfriendly staff. We use volunteer / training students for the breakfast shift because it is impossible to find workers willing to work half 4 hour shift. Workers that come to Kos from the mainland look and get 10 to 11 hour shifts. Our permanent staff work lunch and dinner shifts and the morning shift is done by volunteer students that only work 4 to 5 hour a day and the rest of the day they have a holiday. These are the bunch of " waiters " chilling in the bar ignoring the guests. Because they served you at breakfast you assumed that they were working staff. We will try to avoid this by requesting that they do not gather at the bar during lunch and dinner service to avoid confusion. We are very sorry that you didnt get the best experience out of the staff and our Glampsite. Our service / staff is consistently rated very highly and it is very disappointing that you felt this way about your stay with us. Lastly about someone saying 'Have fun' as you were leaving that was me, Alexi the owner. I said this with full earnestness. We work tirelessly to help people have the best holiday that they can. We only want people to have fun and have a good holiday. I am sorry that you didnt have that here with us, but I sincerely hope you were able to have fun and enjoy yourself wherever else you stayed because I want you and everyone on Kos to have fun. Again I am sorry if this sounded like some strange dismissal but it was a sincere hope. I would rather have people here and be happy, or be somewhere else and be happy than be here and be unhappy. Thank you again for choosing Sails and thank you for the feedback!
