How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewStunning location with all amazing rooms with beautiful views of the Caldera. Really nice to be located in Imerovgli - near to the busy main town but not in it! Mini pool/spa was incredible.
The only place to eat was the main restaurant which was cripplingly expensive. A small discount for hotel guests would’ve meant we ate there more & would’ve made it more reasonable. Small things like water provided daily (instead of having to buy it) would’ve been a nice touch for the price we were paying for the views!

Verified reviewThe views were stunning. The location was perfect. The cleaning personnel were so polite and allowed us to time to leave the room. They were so professional and provided exceptional service.
There were some incidents that made the experience a bit awkward. First of all, the visitor tax. We were told it had to be paid in cash, with no option to pay by card, and no receipt was provided. My partner even insisted on paying by card, but the receptionist refused. It’s not about the €10 — it’s about the lack of transparency and the failure to provide official evidence of payment. Secondly, during our stay, the pool maintenance was very disruptive. From 10:00 to 14:00, the maintenance worker was right outside our private jacuzzi, completely compromising the privacy that a hotel should ensure. Without any warning, we woke up to a stranger cleaning the pool just outside, with a direct view into our room. It felt intrusive and uncomfortable, something I’ve never experienced in any other hotel. Lastly, the room safety could be improved. Several sockets were hanging out of the wall, which seemed like a serious hazard. The balcony door was faulty! They didn’t even bother to inform us!

Verified reviewGreat view, private pool, spacious room (suite) for 3 adults, very friendly staff. Delicious breakfast buffet. Nespresso coffee machine in the suite. Keep in mind that there are many small and steep stairs from the car parking to the rooms, especially difficult to go down with a big suitcase. The kind receptionist helped me carrying my suitcase - thank you very much. Fantastic Hotel on Santorini!

Verified reviewThe staff was great, Tani (the chauffeur) who picked us up from the airport was amazing. He guided us briefly about the island and gave us many useful tips about where to go and what to expect. He was very friendly. Also, Ahmad (at reception) was awesome. He helped us with whatever we asked for and made sure to assist us whenever we needed. Shoutout to cleaning lady for daily cleaning the room. The breakfast was great. Views are mind-blowing.
So many stairs! And honestly, its not their fault its just how the terrain is. So make sure to pack some high-quality shoes (preferably trainers or sports shoes with good cushioning so you can walk around easily.) Also make sure to pack ORS/salts because the water on the island doesn't have any, and you may get dehydrated really quickly if you don't pay attention to your water levels.

Verified reviewThe cost of accommodation is purely based on the view. Which is magnificent. The pool on the room was also a wonderful feature. The service staff were lovely and the extended check out time was appreciated. The location is fantastic.
The room was lacking in quality furniture. The cleanliness was average. The restaurant was extremely expensive and the quality of the food was at best fair and at worst inedible. The cleaners left rubbish bags on our balcony, while cleaning the adjacent room and staff will jump from balcony to balcony unannounced which leaves little privacy.

Terrible staff from the minute we arrived. Front desk were apathetic and always on their phone. No staff acknowledged you as you walked past. Asked questions around breakfast and were ignored. Asked for help to take bags up at departure and were actually told no. Staff need to pick up their game !

Lovely location. Arrived to the honeymoon suite room 102. Stains on the table, door to bathroom wouldn’t stay open, TV bracket was loose so TV was at an angle, blind broken and had rips on, and owner blamed us for damaging the blind when broken on arrival. When speaking to Helen the owner on the phone regarding the issues she was very rude and refused to give a refund. Would never stay here. Stayed 1 hour and then found somewhere else much better and would highly recommend the new place. We paid 1,100 euros and this was not worth that at all.

Upon your arrival, the only valid concern raised was a stain on the coffee table, for which we have already arranged a refund of €100 as a gesture of goodwill. The other issues you mentioned were checked immediately by our staff and found to be unsubstantiated. You acknowledged this at the time and apologized. Unfortunately, the curtain was damaged during your short stay, and you then requested to cancel your reservation and receive a full refund so that you could move to another property. As we explained, this was not possible under our clearly stated cancellation and payment policy, which you accepted upon booking. Following this, you threatened us with a negative review unless a full refund was issued, despite there being no valid grounds for one. We take guest feedback seriously and always aim to resolve concerns respectfully—but we also have a responsibility to uphold fair policies for all guests. Verified reviewThe location was our favorite part! Very close to Skaros, very easy to hike to Fira as it is only 35-40 minutes walk and the walk was pleasant and relatively safe. The bed was firm and comfortable! The toileties are quite nice. The breakfast was included in the stay, simply fantastic and it changes everyday. The hotel offers activities and can do the booking for us with good deals as well. Staffs were super friendly, super nice and super helpful.
The bathroom was quite small. There were people walking around / passing our room a lot of times (it's located by the hiking path) which points out to the lack of privacy, for us it's not a problem. The pool was a bit cold for us :( and they lack sufficient sunbeds to accommodate the demand.

Verified reviewThe views are stunning. Absolutely gorgeous. The location is very quiet, yet close to plenty of restaurants and bars. There is a charming traditional Greek bar just around the corner.
The bathroom in our room was very small. Not a big problem, but I can see the size of the shower being an issue at times.

There’s a public footpath right in front of your terrace - which I didn’t realise before booked. So there’s little privacy. But we still felt it was a lovely location etc.
