How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewBeautiful grounds, clean room and friendly staff. We had asked to check in early to prepare for a wedding we were guests at. The hotel sent a message several hours early to notify us the room was ready. This was perfect timing and allowed us even more time to prepare. The room was spacious, clean and so comfortable. The grounds were beautiful, so we took some photos before heading to the wedding. The beds were the most comfortable of our entire stay in Rhodes. I only wish we had stayed longer here, the pool looked amazing!
Everything was exceptional

Verified reviewThe pool area is just amazing, surrounded by a very well kept garden, always plenty of comfortable sunchairs available, and the vibe we found it to be always quiet and relaxing. For the rooms, they are a bit dated but nothing too important, however we didn´t like very much to be on the top floor, as the sun was hitting our room and there was no shade on the balcony. Additionally, the table and chairs are too big for the size of the balcony, making it quiet crammed. We asked if it was possible to move to a room on the ground floor, with a terrace connected to the garden, and Savvas kindly moved us quickly. We were really happy with the ground floor room. The location is very convenient, as there is a bus stop taking you back to Rhodes Town or south to Lindos just steps away from the property. There is also a supermarket, a fruit shop, a coffee shop and a few humble restaurants nearby. A beach is also nearby (300 m.)
The towels were a bit worn out and smelled a bit like chrorine. Also, the air-con was a bit too weak for the heat. It was able to cool down the room but just about.

Verified reviewWe loved the pool! It was large enough for swimming and there were always plenty of comfortable sun beds available at any time of the day. The garden with the palm trees and lemon trees was well maintained. There was plenty of parking and the staff was lovely. The room was spacious and the walls were thick because we never heard anything from the other rooms and we imagine our neighbors must have had a fight since we saw him sleeping on the balcony one night, but we never heard a peep. They also made up the following night, so that was good. We didn't hear that either. The view of the pool is lovely and being on the top floor felt more private. The ground floor is visible to anyone walking by. The bed was comfortable and the location was perfect as it was near everything we were interested in and there's an excellent restaurant across the street with a 4.8 rating that did not disappoint. I would recommend staying here, especially if you are a couple.
While it was mainly a positive experience and we enjoyed ourselves, there were a few minor things that we didn't like. The decor is que dates. The apt looks like my Italian mother-in-law decorated it. It's got those plastic red handled serated knives that everyone in Italy seems to own. The metal toilet paper cover, the white plastic hair dryer attached to the wall that just barely dries your hair and the tiny TV that feels like a tablet on a stand. Not only was it small, but no channels worked. So I used my firestick instead. The Dolce Gusto coffee maker does not make good coffee. I used 3 pods to make a single ristretto espresso and it was still weak. The people smoking on the balconies ruined breakfast. The electric hob is very weak as well. It took a while just to cook eggs. The duvet did not have a cover but a top sheet under it. The pool hours are waaaay too limited. There's no lifeguard, so what difference would it make to extend the hours. 9am-7pm is too short. I understand you don't want noise after a certain hour, but 7pm is too early. It should be open until 10pm, at least. I don't think people with kids should ever be given the ground floor though since there is nothing surrounding the pool, so kids could fall in if the terrace door is left open. But regardless of these minor hiccups, it was a nice place to stay and I would recommend it, especially for couples. I hope they make some improvements. But it was fine.

Verified reviewA very big room with additional 2 single beds so plenty of space to spread out. Kitchenette very well equipped with big fridge freezer and microwave as well as 2 electric hot plates. The bathroom was big enough, always lots of hot water in the shower. The maid came everyday to make beds and clean. The pool area and garden with orange & lemon trees are very clean and well looked after with plenty of comfortable sun loungers and parasols (pool is not heated). It was very quiet and peaceful as per description but supermarket and restaurants very close by. There's a direct connection to a small beach as well. We loved our stay, thank you so much.
We had to fix 2 of the chairs on the balcony (not really broken, just not a very sturdy design) but there were 2 more chairs anyway. Apart from that everything was perfect. There were no tea towels in the kitchen but we used one of the handtowels.

Verified reviewStavros Melathron is surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens. The pool is lovely. The rooms are a little dated, but in a good condition and they are kept impeccably clean. The beds are comfy, the shower cabin is spacious and the water pressure good.
The beach that's nearest to the hotel was a bit disappointing - completely blocked off with sunbeds and very crowded.

Verified reviewLocation was perfect, close to the old town and some beautiful beaches. You'll need a rental car though. Furthermore, the hygiene and cleanliness of this place is perfect! Very friendly cleaners and personnel
There was quite some noise from outside, since the property is close to a driveway. I believe sound isolation could be easily improved.
