How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

1. The office is hard to get a hold of. They have never answered the phone when I called from the moment I booked to the moment I attempted to check in. 2. BEWARE: This hotel double booked the room I selected and gave it away to another guest. They offered an “upgrade”, but the upgrade had a worse view and way worse pool despite the room being larger. Since I booked that room specifically for the pool I asked for a refund and they refused to provide a refund to me for my first night since “they would be taking a loss”. If the hotel notified me that they double booked the room in the 3 months prior to my trip, I could have canceled free of charge, BUT THEY WAITED UNTIL I GOT THERE and then told me my stay was ineligible for a refund. That is horrible customer service. They offered me a cocktail for the mistake. UNACCEPTABLE. The hotel should take full accountability for this. 3. Not following their policies: I had book a third night for a different room and therefore the booking was on a different confirmation. Since I wanted a refund for my first nights I could not stay my last night b/c my hotel was now located on the other side of town. Again, instead of taking accountability for the issues they caused they tried to tell me I could bi be refunded for my third night. According to their policy, I have up until 12am on the day of check in to get at least 50% refund. I canceled two days before when my other booking with them fell through, AND THEY REJECTED MY REFUND. Stay away. They are greedy.

The lunch and dinner menu was a bit extra, could have used a simple offer but hardly a problem!

The umbrellas have holes in them so don’t fully protect you from the sun. Did not provide free water, despite the tap water not being drinkable. Strange given how much you pay for this hotel. Also made you pay for Nespresso pods in the room- never had to pay for those before. These should be free if they have a machine.

Verified reviewAll the staff were amazing and went above and beyond to help, particularly Eri from reception who gave her mobile number and helped with any questions or booking taxis. The location is perfect, just as beautiful as Oia but without the crows and walkable to Thira. Our room and balcony/ pool were amazing with the most beautiful caldera view. Breakfast was delicious and check in super easy, the welcome cocktail was really appreciated.
The room is absolutely beautiful but there is little to no storage for putting suitcases etc. At this price point I'd expect to be able to use the coffee machine/ mini bar without any additional costs. We also multiple day had people doing photoshoots stood on the roof of our room looking in to our balcony and the hotel doesn't stop them

The area where it is located is also great and way calmer than other parts of the island, which makes it very peaceful and relaxing. The staff were also super helpful and friendly, they were always ready to assist with anything we needed. We had an amazing vacation, I couldn't recommend more!

Verified reviewI am not one to ever leave reviews but Stella Roca deserves all the praise. A Beautiful hotel with the most insane views of Santorini. The rooms are gorgeous with individual hot tubs, the main pool and restaurant area is picture perfect. The included breakfast is great, you have the try the eggs benedict🤤But what really makes this place 10/10 is the staff. Stavroula, the manager, was absolutely fabulous, so helpful and so incredibly kind. A remote reception works great with contact over whatsapp making it so easy to request anything or ask any questions. The bar staff were also amazing! The boys and Mary made our stay fabulous. We have never come across nicer, genuinely kind people! 🥺 Worth every penny!!

Verified reviewThe property was very clean and the staff were very friendly. The room was great size and the view from the room was awesome.
The biggest disappointment about this property was the missed opportunity of not having a pool right at the edge of the cliff. Instead it was the restaurant area which has a great view but could have easily been above the pool. The pool also had no shallow end and was about 6.5 feet deep. The room also had quite about of weeds and shrubs that could have easily been cut to improve the view.
