Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIf I had to find one thing, it would be to have slightly more comfortable chairs on the balcony!
This place is glorious. The view from our balcony was spectacular. Intense peace (although 3 mins walk from lovely, lively tavernas). Staff are warm, welcoming, lovely, thank you Selana. We'll come back.

United KingdomAll good
We rented the apartment which had a huge private terrace offering sun and shade (sunbeds privided) and fantastic view over sea. Interior was cool and spacious with sitting and bedroom areas, plus a small kitchenette for preparing basic meals. Towels and sheets changed regularly. Shared pool was sparkling clean and refreshing, and we often had it to ourselves (last week of June). 'Basic' breakfast, included in price and brought to our terrace every morning, included fruit juice, fruit, bread, homemade jam and local biscuits. Option to upgrade breakfast if required. Selina (sorry if spelt wrong) was very friendly and helpful. The studios provided transfers (extra cost) to and from airport, which was a godsend since our flight from Athens was delayed. Apartment was in a quiet and peaceful area of town yet only 5 mins walk down to windmills, shops, restaurants and bars and slightly longer walk uphill to the castle. Its worth the walk to the castle in the evening to try the two restaurants and the Castro bar (directly below castle walls). Would try to book this apartment if we ever return to Astpalea.

United KingdomThe kitchen area isn’t very big.
What a fantastic stay, the apartments are ex-fishermen’s cottage’s in the shadow of the castle on the edge of the town overlooking Lividia beach and bay, the staff cannot do enough for you and Selena brings you a breakfast basket every morning with bread and biscuits straight from the bakery in town and homemade jam when available, the pool area although not big was not busy and very comfortable

Amazing stay in Astypalea – highly recommended! We had a wonderful time in Astypalea! The hotel is located very close to the famous Windmills, which makes it perfect for exploring the charming town and enjoying the beautiful views. The room was clean, cozy, and well-equipped, and the entire property had that lovely Cycladic charm that makes you feel relaxed and welcome. The staff was friendly and helpful, making sure everything was perfect during our stay. We also loved the peaceful atmosphere by the pool with a stunning view of the sea — a perfect place to unwind. Astypalea itself is a hidden gem — quiet, authentic, and not overcrowded. The town has beautiful narrow streets, great tavernas, and wonderful spots to watch the sunset. We’re very happy with both the hotel and the island and will gladly come back. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful Greek island experience!

New ZealandNothing much to dislike, the mezzanine bedroom is a little annoying as the ceiling is low… but not really a big deal as the bed is comfy and you just get used to it
Stunning location, perched on the hillside beneath the old castle overlooking the beautiful bay below, Livani side not port side. Kilindra Studios is one of the best choices of accommodation we made in our journey of 8 weeks. Our room was overlooking the pool and the awesome view. The pool itself is picture perfect, nice and deep for swimming and with deck chairs to enjoy the sun and the gorgeous views. Selana is an excellent host, we ordered the breakfast one morning and it was served at one of the tables beside the pool. Delicious fresh food and plenty of it, I would highly recommend trying it at least once during your stay, to eat breakfast in paradise is a real treat. The room is comfortable and well equipped with a comfy bed and is really quiet at night. All in all, we loved our stay here, the island is gorgeous and Kilindra Studios was an excellent choice of places to stay, we hope to come again one day.

AustraliaFrom the moment we arrived at Studios Kilindra we were made to feel so welcome. Selana (the manager) was so incredibly kind and generous with her time and knowledge of Astypalea. She is also such a hard worker and the accommodation deserves every success. The view from Studios Kilindra is breathtaking and location is an easy walk to the restaurants, shops and port. The accommodation is very comfortable and our room opened to the pool which was much appreciated in the heat of summer. I would not hesitate in recommending Studios Kilindra! Thank you for everything Selana :)

United KingdomThe rooms although spacious are very outdated, marketed as having a kitchenette however there wasn’t even a kettle or a proper bin. Bathroom was outdated but did the job but wasn’t the cleanest with black mould in the bottom of the shower around the tiles. We requested a travel cot prior to our stay which was accepted and asked for a room with a bed downstairs so we didn’t have to carry our 3 month old up steps to bed. When we got there there was no travel cot so our little one had no where safe to sleep! This was our main reason for booking a maisonette to have adequate space and facilities for her. On check out the owner made a very rude comment and tried to argue that we had not told him about having a baby, however we had messaged the property with this information on several occasions prior to our stay with our request for a travel cot being accepted. We pointed this out on our booking confirmation where we booked for 2 adults and 1 infant and received no apology for his error and rude comments. We paid for breakfast for the duration of our stay and on the first day we’re told we couldn’t have one as we hadn’t requested it the day before even though we had paid for this within the price. On the subsequent day, the breakfast basket that we received didn’t even have a slice of bread in it. The property is marketed as having drinks available at reception but when we asked to buy as little as a bottle of water they couldn’t provide us with anything. One day we came back to our room to the bedding having been stripped and left in the middle of the floor, no clean towels, no rubbish emptied and no fresh roll of toilet paper. The reception is hardly ever open so if you’re checking in between 12-5, you’re lucky to find someone to collect your key from. There was nothing boutique about this hotel and for over 1000€, I expected a lot more.
The property itself is in a beautiful location and the pool area and view was stunning. Unfortunately there was not much more to like.
