Reviews of Summer House by the Sea

We had the best time of our lives! We were five, renting the property for my birthday, everything was just super, we had a morning swim at the beach just in front of the house (!!), then we drove to Golden Beach for water sports and some… booze, we had late lunch prepared by ourselves (very proud of that!), the kitchen is so well-equipped that everyone becomes instantly a chef! We ate it in the beauuuutiful garden of the house and in the evening we ate in Dryos and then visited a bar with the best music ever!… What else can I say? Everything was just… gorgeous!

We spend 12 days of relaxed family holidays (with 3 kids) there in August - and it was just superb. The house has atmosphere, the kitchen is well equipped, beds are very good. However, the key highlight is the location - it is very close to a beach (2 minutes walk, and another one is like 8 minutes), but it is surrounded by large old trees which makes it really calm and secluded. There is a garden, very cute cats around - we liked most a table for 6 under a large tree - this kind of natural shade is rare on Paros - large garden surrounding the property really adds a relaxed atmosphere. To sum up, it exceeded our expectations and we had perfect time. For practical informations - there's a beach bar 3 minutes away with food, drinks, water (it is well equipped) - and it closes at 7pm in August, so evenings are realy calm. For us the best time was morning and evening, when the beautiful beach (with trees!) was practically empty. Also, the wind which is common on Paros is not an issue, since the bay is facing south. The hosts are great and helpful. There are sunbeds in the garden.

All is fine, however perhaps you need to consider aspects fine for us, but you might be looking for something else. Firstly, it is better to have a car, the nearest shop is approx 4km away in Dryos (or in Aliki I guess) - we had no car since we like hiking, We visited during high season, so the beach was busy (all the beaches are), but the busy time starts at 10am and ends at 7pm. The number of properties around is very limited, so you have the beach for yourself in the mornings and evenings. As the house is surrounded by vegetation, there are occasional insects (however, the windows are protected with nets). Take a look at the pictures whether the style matches your taste - for us it was just fine. The property is a ground floor of a detached house - but the whole thing (and the garden) is arranged in a way that makes you feel as living in a separate house.
