How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewOverall, we were highly satisfied. This accommodation is exceptional in terms of price–performance. The apartments are spacious, immaculately clean, and equipped with essential amenities. The transfer (shuttle) service operated flawlessly, and the team was consistently available, courteous, and helpful with all requests. Although we spent little time in the room, the central location made it an ideal base for a full day of sightseeing. In sum, an excellent value choice.
Due to its central location, the property is indeed quite noisy, particularly at night. We were aware of this when booking, so it did not come as a surprise. Given Athens’s vibrant nightlife, guests should anticipate elevated noise levels in the city center.

Verified reviewThe girls were absolutely amazing and patient. Gave us so much advice on things to see and do as well as food options. The suite was really central. This was our first time staying in Monastiraki. One of the oldest areas of Athens. Don't be put off by the appearance of the streets, it is a great area to stay with so much to do in walking distance. The apartment was huge and had everything you would need for even an extended stay. Check out the rooftop bars in the area. There are a few great ones.

Verified reviewAmazing location. Other than being 1 minute away from a metro station, it was on a very lively neighbourhood with many restaurants. Very clean apartment. Beds were super comfortable and the wardrobe had the perfect size to open a cabin bag at a convenient height.
I had to use roaming data every time I was in the apartment. The WiFi didn’t work and on the rare occasions that it did, it was super slow and unstable. After one shower, the water flow visibly diminished and we even experienced no water when cleaning the dishes. Maybe it was related to being on the 5th floor but even so, it is not admissible. Even though the apartment had an oven and some kitchen tools, it also missed essential ones if you wanted to cook, namely a mitten and towels. It really looked like nobody ever cooked there. There wasn't even salt and pepper, which are usually left by previous guests in these apartments.

Verified reviewI needed a place close to Monastiraki metro line, and this one was at the perfect spot. The noisiness of Psirri area did not reach my apartment on the 4th floor. The apartment is spacious, the staff is very friendly, and there is a lot to do, eat and drink closeby. Breakfast was served in a nearby cafe and sufficient.
I tend to check the bed in every hotel before sleeping in it. The mattress under bed sheets was quite dirty with crumble and spots, although free from bugs which is my main concern.

Room was basic, and not at all like the photos on the website. The day of arrival, we were advised of the hot water boiler system, requiring it to be turned on 20 minutes prior to use of hot water. This meant that our usual half-hour evening turnaround was only possible with cold water showers and also cold water in the morning unless we wanted to get up early. The rooms weren't very clean and food from previous guests was left in fridge, which when we opened on the first day, left a stench in the room for the next 3 days. The beds were uncomfortable, & although the location was great, there was live music on the street outside on the weekend, which was really loud inside.

Verified reviewThe rooftop suite looks great and is very modern and comfy. It only lacks a few final touches - not all lights worked, the ironing machine was burnt and there were no holders in the bathroom for soap, shower gel etc. Also a washing machine would be very useful even for short stays.
