How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewGood sized room - called a junior suite but really just a largeish hotel room with a sofa. Greek/industrial decoration worked well. Shower good and powerful and warm, bed comfortable. Great location, lots of funky shops and bars on the same road and huge choice of restaurants nearby. Also close to all the tourist attractions if that's what you're there for. A good choice for breakfast, particularly liked the cooked to order omlettes. Staff very friendly (US levels of smiling and small-talk)
Room was very dark. We were on second floor but windows were high up and were very close to the walls of other tall buildings. So, not very much natural light gets in. There was an almost constant electric buzzing but couldn't work out where exactly it was coming from. We were only staying for one night before we flew home, so, it wasn't worth complaining about. Shame there's no view, even though the breakfast room is on the 4th floor - but they don't say there is. Just felt that for the price everything could have been a bit more 'polished'. But maybe we'd been spoilt by some of the amazing and better value places we'd stayed on the islands

Your comment about US levels of smiling and small-talk can be considered a nationality discrimination. We strongly belive that smiling does not have a nationality, it is a natural and universal expression of the good vibes we feel inside! Also, regarding the room, please note that the design of each room is 100% depicted in the photos, so maybe another type of room could have been a better fit for you or you could have discussed the issue with our team at the Front Desk and a different type of room could have been given. Lastly, the height of our establishment is such that there is no view and we do not say there is. So, we do not understand your comment about the shame of something that it is not mentioned or written or advertised from the begging of. Thank you for staying with us. Super loud at one of the nights (including cigarette smells coming in the room through the closed windows). Breakfast was very lame and overall the design and experience was not very welcoming (design, shower and more)

Verified reviewGreat location, hotel is very close to all attractions by foot, metro is only 3 minutes away (direct line to airport), market store is also around the corner. At first, street looks little bit like ghetto, however that's really not the case, it is perfectly safe and the street is very much alive all the time and has very casual, artistic vibe. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, they speak English perfectly. We had coffee machine in our room, with coffee and tee bags. We also got bottled water each day. There are slippers and earplugs for use as well. Everything was very clean. Bed was comfortable. We arrived early, left our bags in hotel and when we came back our bags were waiting for us in the room, which was really nice surprise. Breakfast was great, it was served on top floor till 11 (so you don't need to get up early). They have zero waste policy, so they don't prepare a lot of food in advance, but you won't be hungry, because they fill in all the time. You can also order few additional dishes (like omelettes) and they prepare it for you, those portions are big and tasty.
Everything was great for us, but those who are light sleepers should know that right next to the hotel there are many bars and cafes with outdoor seating, so it can be little noisy at night (that's why you get earplugs).

Verified reviewLocation is so central to everything. Hotel is everything you need for a short break. There are a couple of lively bars just outside the hotel which we loved but others may find intrusive. Staff are so friendly and accommodating.

Verified reviewThis boutique hotel is in an area very close to the main Plaka area in Athens, It is lively in the evenings mainly frequented by the younger set. We had read that it could be noisy at night but we didn't hear a thing. There is a nice bar next door with the cheapest drinks in Europe. Breakfast here was exceptional - we enjoyed chatting with Irini each morning and she made us scrambled eggs. Plenty of choices. Reception staff were lovely also and nothing was too much trouble.
