How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe transportation service the hotel sets up is very reliable and convenient, but there are important things guests should know. It’s not included in the hotel booking fees, it must be paid separately, and payment is only accepted in cash. Unfortunately, the staff never mentioned this beforehand, which left us scrambling to find an ATM and feeling uncomfortable when pressured to pay in cash on the spot. The service itself was good, but clearer communication from the hotel would have made the experience much smoother. Also note that it’s quite expensive €45 each way from the airport (€100 round trip).

Verified reviewWe stayed at The Museum Project in Oia as a family of three and absolutely loved our experience. The location is unbeatable – right next to Oia’s famous sunset path, yet still peaceful and relaxing. The swimming pool was a perfect way to unwind after exploring, and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. Georgia at the reception was extremely helpful and welcoming, and the rest of the staff were just as friendly and attentive throughout our stay. The food was also very good, making it easy to relax and enjoy ourselves without needing to venture far. Overall, a fantastic stay in an amazing setting – highly recommended for anyone visiting Oia!

Verified reviewIt was a quaint place right in the center of everything! So close to the domes and just a very cute spot to relax with a pool and nice lounge area. Breakfast was also very nice. There was a tiny bit of confusion getting there so just use the taxi recommended, if the hotel can they will help you with your bags but better they know you’re coming so you know where to go. The staff is very hard working and they put a lot of heart into what they do. Beautiful stay, would definitely come again.
Just a little confusing when you get there, if the taxi doesn’t call the hotel. Then you’re kind of dragging your bags around a little unsure of where to go, it’s close to the drop off but can be confusing and overwhelming with a lot of bags in the hot summer, it’s definitely hard to carry your bags over the cobble stone and stairs and through the crowds of people it’s very busy there during peak summer so just make you coordinate your arrival with the hotel, so if they can they’ll come out and help you.

Verified reviewWe had an incredible stay at The Museum Project Oia! From the moment we arrived, the hostesses Evaggelia and Georgia went above and beyond to make us feel relaxed and at home – nothing was too much trouble. Alex at the bar was equally fantastic, serving amazing drinks and delicious food with a friendly smile every time. The rooms were beautiful – stylish, comfortable, and spotless – and the pool was a great size for Santorini, perfect for cooling off after exploring. The location couldn’t have been better: restaurants and shops were right on the doorstep, and it was only a short 2-minute walk to enjoy the breathtaking Oia sunset views. The hotel also arranged our airport transfers and a sunset catamaran cruise, which was an unforgettable highlight of our trip. Overall, the service, location, and facilities were exceptional – we couldn’t recommend The Museum Project Oia highly enough!

Room was a bit smaller than I'd realised and the bathroom tiny with no shower door so the floor and loo got soaked with every shower.

Verified reviewThe hotel has a great location with very nice views. It is very easy to get around Oia from the hotel as you are central located. Very easy access to the bus stop for exploring Santorini.
The mornings were very nice until the cruise ships dropped off their passengers. Typically, there was three ships per day, and the walkways would become very packed.

Verified reviewThe breakfast was served in the shade by the pool. The omelette with mushrooms was very tasty, and we also had the Greek yoghurt and fruit, all very good. We spent some time in the pool which is at the back of the hotel very tranquil even though it’s in the busy part of oia, with large comfy beds. The hotel steps out into the busy cobbled streets of oia, which is beautiful and so picturesque. Plenty of eateries and shops to browse. We would highly recommend The museum project and would certainly return. The staff are all really friendly and can’t do enough to help. BEAUTIFUL
