Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesFurniture needed updating (wobbly - felt like I might break it) Shower head needs replacing - nodules are clogged. I manually unclogged some to get the waterfall working.
Location and staff were very good. Loved the terrace.

LuxembourgI don't see any negative thing to point out.
The Vault is so well placed that you won't need public transportation. But if you happen to do, Monastiraki train station is just a 750 meters walk. Syntaga and Ermou (the most commercial street) are also at 750m2. The area is totally safe even during the night hours. The breakfast (we did not take it) is served in the rooms, which means there are no common spaces. But we did not really miss them, since we were out most of the time. There is a water machine next to the lift, where you can get cold/warm water whenever you want. Our room was quite big, more than an average hotel room, and this was amazing. The bed was very comfortable. The bad was also quite big and nicely equipped and decorated. We needed to have air condition most of the time, since the room was in the last floor, and summers in Athens can be very hot, but the machine worked very well. There is also a coffee machine in the room and a boiler, which was very practical for my first coffee of the day. We had no views to the street, but this was not an issue for us. For the price payed I can highly recommend this hotel. We loved it.

CyprusBreakfast could have been more “rich” but i didn’t know that breakfast was served in the room. More breakfast options could enrich the breakfast but for me, i prefer to have my breakfast in a breakfast room instead of my room. The staff was very friendly really, the hotel was super clean and the location is safe and in the center. No comfortable lobby area, very small area, the room was great though. Overall, good experience.

PolandThere's a bar quite literally at the opposite side of a narrow street and it gets loud. I stayed at 2 rooms while at The Vault Athens (I decided to stay longer and only a different room was available; hence the change) and the street view room is louder. The loud music sometimes plays till 3-4 in the morning. When I stayed at the courtyard room view I didn't hear it. Overall it didn't really bother me too much - I had a harder time falling asleep but I wouldn't say it ruined my sleep. If you're concerned with the noise, take the courtyard room view. Don't expect a nice view though, you'll just see a bunch of walls right next to your window. I didn't book the courtyard view for "the view" but really there isn't any.
The Vault Athens' location is SUPERB and it cannot be understated how convenient it makes everything. You're right in the middle of a vibrant neighbourhood. Walk a couple of minutes and you'll find yourself in the colourful and lively Psirri neighbourhood. Walk a bit more and you'll reach Plaka. It's so convenient. A bunch of historical places and museums are very close as well: Acropolis, Acropolis Museum, Temple of Hephaustus. I stayed in Athens for a week and I walked the whole time. You'll also find a bunch of amazing food places really close to The Vault Athens. Go for brunch at The Brunch Factory or The Brunchers. Try freddo espresso when you're in Athens! Grab some souvlaki at Street Souvlaki or Greco's Project. Then go for a walk to a great sunset spot, Spring of Pnyx. Much better than the overcrowded Lycabettus Hill. Ah, Athens. I'll be back! The Vault Athens is a good hotel, but the location beats everything. Also, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I can totally recommend this hotel for your stay. I would totally stay there again.

PolandBreakfast is given into the room (you have to choose just a few options on the evening). There is a night club just the opposite your windows. It was quite loud in winter, how it will be in the summer? This is more an apartment than a hotel.
The location is great, close to the underground and public transport. The room is spacious and comfortable.

RomaniaI have reserved the Superior Suite with City View witch in the description it says that is comprised of 1 living room, 1 separate bedroom and 1 bathroom. It wasn't like that; all the beds were in the same room. So I was really disappointed because the reason for choosing this accommodation was the separate bedroom. The staff said that they do not have an apartment with separate bedroom, even if it says like that in the description. So, you should be aware of this. Also the sound insulation of the windows is really pour; basically you hear everything from the street.
The position, the cleanliness.

AlbaniaEverything was fine until we returned to the room in the afternoon and saw that the cups we drink coffee with in the morning, after being washed by the cleaner, were placed upside down in the sink in the bathroom. This was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen in a hotel. I don't want to think about what sponges those cups were washed with, but even if they were washed with new sponges, placing them upside down in the sink where we wash our hands is the most unhygienic thing that could exist. It would be better to put disposable cups in, to avoid any kind of dissatisfaction.
the hotel was nice, in the city center with a lot of attractions nearby. the reception girl was so nice to us and very kind.

GreeceThe room had sliding windows facing air shafts. This type of window is poor by design at blocking noise. The AC units are placed in the air shafts, so the room was continuously noisy from the hum the machines make. Felt kind of sleeping on a ship. Also the toilet tank had a minor glitch and didn't refill some times. When mentioned at check out I was told that it would be taken care of. Besides these flaws, the hotel is a good choice in the heart of Athens, with great staff and extremely clean and spacious rooms.
Polite staff, great location, extremely clean, easy check in, spacious room, design is nice, amenities are adequate, accurate communication. Four pillows of two different softness levels was a nice touch.
