How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery nice hotel. My room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. I had a basement room and really liked it. Staff answered any questions I had, even into the night hours. I found the other guests respectful of their noise level. I also really enjoyed the pool area.
The location. Laganas is a party town full of mostly teenagers that party until sun-up.. I was not aware of this prior to booking. There was a security guard at night to ensure only guests entered the property but in four nights, I never saw him and never had my wristband checked. I would not stay in this town again.

Nothing at all, everything was great!!

Verified reviewThe personnel was really nice and helpful with everything, and the security guy was also really nice! The rooms were good, and the bathroom as well. The cleaning lady cleaned everything really neatly! We liked that the hotel was next to the Strip, but we didn't really hear anything that was happening there. The car we rented there was also good and cheaper than going with a taxi.
The beds in general were okay, but not that good for the back! The pool was also nice to be at, but we had the feeling it had a lot of chemicals — but that is to be expected!

Verified reviewWe liked the breakfast with good variety and quality of products (various fruits, breads, croissants and Greek pastries, yoghurt, eggs etc.). The location is in a side street next to the Laganas ‘strip’ with walking distance to the beach. The hotel is located well to go to Zakynthos city or make trips on the island. There is a night guard to make sure that only hotel guests can enter the hotel. The room was cleaned every day and clean towels are provided each day. Also important to mention is the quality of the beds. Pool is very nice with the reception and bar area. The hotel hosts, Nicky and Nicole and the rest of the staff made us feel very welcome and comfortable from the minute we arrived to the moment of departure.
The coffee provided with breakfast was not to our taste. We ordered coffee as a surplus. When visiting in July and August a lot of (young) people visit Laganas and stay in the hotel and go out at night. As the hotel is next to the Laganas strip it might be too noisy. If we visit the hotel again we would not reserve a room with street view.

Verified reviewNice hotel
The guard at night was terrible! I think its good that the hotel has a guard that looks after the ones that actually stays at the hotel, but he threatend a boy with a knife. «You should be glad i dont have a knife right now, or else you would be missing a hand by now» He was way too aggressive. Your job is to make sure no one that dont stay at the hotel gets in, you dont work in a prison. He was very vert scary and should not be doing what he is doing.
Dear Stine, Thank you for sharing your feedback. Please allow us to respond with clarity and transparency. We want to state clearly that we condemn any form of aggression or threatening behavior. Such actions have no place in our hotel. However, the claim that our trusted night guard threatened someone with a knife is completely out of place, and frankly, makes no sense. No establishment, especially one that prioritizes guest safety as we do, would ever tolerate such behavior from a member of staff. That’s precisely why we have a security guard on duty in first place: to ensure the safety and well-being of our guests. Why would the very person responsible for guest safety ever threaten a guest? That idea alone is irrational. Additionally, your review mentions that the guard threatened “a boy.” Yet, according to your booking, your group consisted of two female guests. So we must ask. Who exactly was the security guard speaking to? The presence of a boy clearly confirms what we had already addressed with you multiple times during your stay. You and your friend repeatedly attempted to bring non-registered individuals onto the property, particularly late at night. We observed a pattern where these attempts were made when the security guard was assisting other guests or had briefly stepped away, suggesting that you were waiting for a distraction in order to sneak people through the pool area and into your room. This type of behavior is not only a direct violation of hotel policy, but it also creates a potential security risk for all other guests. If something were to happen involving a non-guest — someone neither we nor you have any information about — who would be held responsible? The hotel would. That is exactly why these rules exist. We ask all guests to respect them, for their own safety and to ensure everyone can enjoy their stay without the need to bypass policies that are in place for everyone’s well-being. While we understand the desire to socialize, this must be done within the boundaries of respect and shared responsibility. We kindly ask that this is taken into account in future travels, both for your own safety and enjoyment, and that of others. Thank you very much!

Verified reviewThe property lived up to our expectations plus much more. It was the perfect hotel for us for so many different reasons. The added surprise was how brilliant the family that owns the hotel are. Every member had a different role around the hotel and made our holiday perfect. We are not the type of couple to usually make friends on holiday but the favourite part of our holiday was socialising at the bar with Tasos and his amazing family, not forgetting cooper the beautiful hotel dog !! 🍺🍺
Leaving. :(

Verified reviewWe recently stayed at this hotel and were initially very impressed. The property is beautiful — everything is brand new, extremely clean, and well-maintained. The atmosphere is relaxing, and the staff are genuinely kind and helpful. The breakfast was another highlight: a wide variety of fresh, delicious options, thoughtfully presented and constantly replenished. A special mention goes to Viky — truly one of the warmest, most attentive people we met on the island. She went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, and her care for the guests was obvious and heartfelt.
Unfortunately, our stay was impacted by a serious issue with the in-room safe. On Friday, we discovered our personal code no longer worked, and right after the manager opened it using a master code, we realized over €300 in cash was missing — more than €200 from my pouch and around €100 from my sister’s. We knew the money was taken between Wednesday night and Friday afternoon. In my case, I had withdrawn €200 in €20 bills on Wednesday because I thought we needed cash for the boat trip but never spent them so I placed it in the safe on wednesday evening with about €340–€360 I already had there, we did not open the safe on Thursday. After opening the safe Friday afternoon, only €340 remained — specifically, 2 x €50 bills and 12 x €20 bills —. My sister’s pouch had clearly been tampered with — she always secures it with a double knot, and it had been redone differently with only one knot and around €100 missing from her pouch (1 €50 bill and 2 €20 bills for sure, the €10 we leave the benefit of the doubt). The manager seemed surprised and agreed to review security footage. He first showed us a brief staff visit from Tuesday, which we ruled out. He said he’d look further and update us. However, at checkout the next day, he said nothing — no follow-up or acknowledgment. It felt like the issue was being dismissed, and we didn’t feel comfortable pressing it. We had planned to leave a 5-star review, but this incident — and especially the lack of response — left us disappointed and concerned. We sincerely hope the hotel takes this seriously and investigates further, as it reflects a major breach of guest trust. Until then, we strongly advise future guests to take extra precautions and not rely on the in-room safe for securing valuables.
Dear Mihail, We are truly disappointed by your review and the serious accusations you’ve made, which we find disrespectful and completely unfounded. In over eleven years of operation, we have never once received a complaint accusing our team of theft. Across all online platforms, there has not been a single review, comment, or hint of the kind of accusation you are now making. Our hotel is built on trust, transparency, and heartfelt hospitality. The staff members you encountered are not only long-time employees but family. This is a family-run business, and nearly every person is a family member, who has worked here for 8 years, some even longer. We take great pride in the integrity of our team and and the commitment to provide the best service possible. The idea that someone would accuse us — without ANY proof — is deeply offensive and damaging. When you brought up your concern about the in-room safe, we responded immediately. The manager opened the safe for you on the spot, and shortly afterward, you all returned together to the reception, where he showed you the relevant CCTV footage of the hallway outside your room door between the period you mentioned. The video clearly showed no unauthorized access to your room, only housekeeping staff and one visit from Vicky, whom you yourself described as “warm” and “attentive,” delivering an iron you requested for about 10 seconds. You reviewed this footage yourself without raising further concerns. It is truly important to mention that no one other than the manager and the owner knows how to unlock a safe and even more importantly, how to unlock a blocked one, and only you know the unique password you set each time you lock it. You were given every opportunity to follow up, yet no further action or insistence came from your side, until now, in the form of a public accusation. Therefore, we would not be surprised if this is a pattern of yours, including making claims for money that does not belong to you, and that similar comments have been made at other places you’ve stayed in the past. We stand behind our team 100%. We also stand by every other guest who has trusted us with their stay over the years, knowing that integrity and family values are at the heart of our hotel. You should consider the gravity of your words and the damage they cause when spoken without evidence. Actions such as these are disappointing and shameful!

Got charged for missing towels when the cleaners actually took them and didn’t give us new ones 🙁
Dear Mia, Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the pool, drinks, and overall atmosphere during your stay. Creating a welcoming environment for our guests is always our priority. However, we’d like to address the issue regarding the towels. From the third day of your stay, our housekeeping team noticed that two towels were missing from the room and we informed you right away. You mentioned that you would look for them, and the receptionist also reminded you that towels should not be taken to the beach or outside of the room, as missing towels would result in a charge. During the routine room check before your departure, the cleaners found a towel in the bin under the trash, covered in dirt and makeup/self-tanner. You did not have an explanation for this and mentioned it might have been thrown away by your friends, with whom you were sharing the room, who had checked out earlier. However, this towel was not one of the missing ones, and unfortunately, by the time of your departure, the missing towels were still not found. We hope this clears up any misunderstandings, and we appreciate your feedback.

Verified reviewSecond time in Zante, first time in the Vice Hotel and we absolutely loved every minute. It’s perfect for partygoers, families, couples, singles of any age. Honestly, it doesn’t matter what you’re looking to get from Greece, you’ll be sure to find it on the Zante Strip. From the moment we entered the taxi arranged by the hotel, we were made to feel at home straight away. The Vice is around 10 mins from the airport which made our trip more enjoyable as we got excited looking at what we have to come over the next week. Check in/check out took a total of around 5 minutes thanks to the straight forward instructions received before we landed via our booking app from the manager Vicky. There is lots to do on the lively strip but the set back location of the hotel gives you the opportunity to relax and experience the authentic Greek lifestyle whilst looking out onto the buzzing night life. The hotel bar is absolutely amazing, the cappuccinos are the best in the town (trust me, I tried every cafe and coffee shop on the strip) I can’t comment on breakfast as we didn’t wake up in time once but my friends said it was really nice. The rooms are a perfect size and have everything you need, air con and tv remote are already waiting for you when you go into your room. The cleaners work everyday and are lovely and polite. The TVs are smart teles so I wouldn’t bother bringing laptops or fire sticks etc as we didn’t use ours once. Overall, we had an absolutely amazing time and I’ll definitely be back (hopefully for 2 weeks next time) If you do book the Vice, be sure to say hello to Cooper the Dog 🐶 Things to do: * Boat trips (with or without captain) * Visit turtle island * Go seal/dolphin/whale spotting * Go clubbing * Gokarting * Water park x 2 (we preferred the one in Tsivili) * Spa day in Tsivili * Rent quads or scooters * Rent a car and go to the viewpoints * banana beach (amazing) Special mention: Brusco Restaurant on the sea front.
I can’t think of a thing, the whole stay from start to finish was absolutely perfect.
