Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe toilet facility was a wet room which I personally do not like but again it was clean and perfectly suitable.
The property is typical Greek style accommodation. Very pretty and the grounds are excellently looked after giving a very warm and friendly environment. The room was spacious and clean with great views from the balcony. The facilities are basic but that is reflected in the price so excellent value.

United KingdomNo-one available to greet us, not clear how to access room, a simple sign to reception or saying keys left in door would help. Pool very dirty above water line, & had to clear flies from surface before swimming ourselves. Grounds a bit overgrown and a lot of discarded equipment around the closed pool bar, gave the impression it wasn't looked after. Kitchen very tired and could do with refresh, only 1 ring on cooker worked, but only if both were switched on full. Bathroom also tired, Shower tray cracked, toilet seat loose Insufficient power points by beds, everyone charges a phone so at least 1 required, but lamp used this.
Good location Responsive when questions asked online Good aircon

AustraliaThe bathroom was fine, but it's a wet bathroom, so showering means wetting the entire bathroom. This can be a little inconvenient, so I wonder if it's possible to install a shower curtain. The accommodation host was kind, but it was tricky to arrange payment for the extension, which was a bit frustrating. Skala location is difficult to get to by bus from the ferry, so be prepared to spend a lot of cash on taxis, which is inconvenient.
Loved that as a solo traveller I had a whole room and bathroom to myself at an island villa for one of the best prices on Kefalonia. Nice little pool and a great view of Skala beach. Huge bed + a single bed was nice and the small fridge was very handy for storing food. Adorable cats made the stay lovely. Extended my stay by 2 nights because it was worth it.

BelgiumTOILET PAPER is not included. BREAKFAST is not included (although I selected “breakfast included” while I made my booking and do not know how “villa Eliza” came up). The AIR CONDITIONING is really poor because units are too small: 9000 Btu/h while the room’s surface requires at least 18000/24000 Btu/h. Besides, it goes on and off every time you open your door or a window and you cannot let it run when you are not in the room because its operating device is connected to the room keys. Rooms (we booked one double room and one apartment) are WITHOUT SHOWER CURTAINS. The SWIMMING POOL needs to be refurbished (as parts are falling apart) and cleaned more regularly. The rooms 7 was full of ANTS we had to put our food (for the breakfast) in the fridge to secure it. The HOSPITALITY SERVICES are run by Ms Yianna Marouli which cannot be helpful or even proactive because she runs “4 more places” and misses things (this is what she quoted as en excuse).
The view is beautiful. The owner is very sweet (she offered us fresh eggs). The emplacement is very quiet and full of animals: two lovely cats which come to say hi every time you are in the garden, hens, roosters, a turkey, a dog and even a sweet donkey.

SerbiaThe old lady which you have to look for when you get to the house is quite unpleasant and doesn't speak a word of English. The cleaning lady also does not speak any language except Greek. The apartment is minimally equipped, the kitchen was quite dirty without basic things, no dishwashing liquid, no sponge, no salt, no sugar, no glasses. When cleaning the room, the cleaning lady only prepares the linen on the bed without sweeping, but that would not be a problem if there was a broom in the apartment, but there is none. The refrigerator is old and dirty with broken door of the part used for freezing which are tied with some wire. The pool bar is not working. We booked three nights, but due to motorbike problems we had to stay two more days. We had to ask the cleaning lady to change our towels after three days. What annoyed us the most was that the woman which was as there every morning as a representative of the agency. She left us a message on paper that we have to pay 7.5 euros extra for Environmental fee (1.5e per day), which we normally paid when booking and paying for the accommodation and for which we have evidence, because it can be seen on the site. We left the money to the old lady, but we are disappointed.
The house and yard are located in a very quiet area, about 500m from the center. The yard is beautiful, the pool is great. The speed of the WiFi connection is very good, the accommodation has its own parking... And that's what's positive...

United KingdomThe room was only cleaned twice and was minimum. Our towels were taken mid week and not replaced although I think this was an oversight. No public toilet so on your last day if you have a late flight you're a bit stuck.
Perfect location, nice and quiet, but 5 minutes and you can be in Skala that has a bit of everything. The room was comfortable, clean and had all the basics you need. Maria was very welcoming and happy to help with anything we needed.

United KingdomThe pool itself was great but there was only one umbrella working which meant severe sun exposure. The area around the pool could be improved but a minor issue.
The villa was close to the beach was up a steep hill which made it secluded but a good stiff walk after an evening out. We had a scooter hired to help! Without a vehicle it's worth bearing in mind that carrying shopping is hard graft. The villa was clean, the room adequate and the pool area was lovely with a great view of the sea.

United KingdomA frying pan and teatowel would have been helpful. One toilet roll when you arrive would be good. Luckily, we'd read reviews so came prepared. Some instructions for the TV would be good. We couldn't get it to work .. not a big deal for us .. but might be important for some people. Minor issues though as we had a great time 🙂
Lovely villa in large gardens. Great pool. Sea view. Close to the coast and we were fine with the walk up the hill to the villa. Close to supermarket and lots of tavernas. We don't speak Greek so a couple of issues were dealt with via the website, promptly and as requested. Very friendly owner. I'd come again.

United KingdomWe didn’t have our bins emptied for three days and didn’t have toilet roll for three days. If there were things in the pool (bugs and such) you would have to scoop them out yourself. The owners asked us for the money for tax and aircon (which was expensive) a day before we left, because they were going to the city. The pool bar that was advertised on the booking site wasn’t open at all- and shows no signs of opening. There is a steep hill to walk up to get here, which I think should be mentioned! The kitchen area was literally full of ants because the bins weren’t being emptied.
Lovely view and really comfortable bed! Cute rooms and very secluded!

United KingdomLucia the host was extremely hospitable and welcoming to me and my partner, we stayed for 5 nights relaxing and taking a 2 minute walk down to the beach and Resturants every day then went on island cruises which are located just 2 minutes from the villa. The location was perfect and had plenty of Greek character, the room even had a fridge to keep food we brought back cold and we were gifted eggs for breakfast from the lovely Lucia who was more than welcoming and let us store our bags in the room on the last day as we had a late flight and stayed in Skála until we had to get a taxi to the airport which was very kind. Overall well worth the money and it’s a very well ran business. Thank you Lucia for such a wonderful experience 👌

SloveniaWhen we arrived the key was waiting in the door and when we tried to contact the host the following days we got no response at all. We were shocked when we took a shower because 2-3 bugs came out of the drain which we weren’t expecting. The pool is quite dirty above the water line ( like it wasn’t cleaned for a long time.) In the kitchen there was no detergent and sponge to clean the utensils. The pictures that are on booking seem older and the property look a lot nicer than it actually is.
The location is nice and they have a donkey that you can pet ( be careful he bites hahah.)
