Cool stay in a windmill near Artemonas, a bit off the main town.

We stayed here for one night to be able to easily visit the Artemonas food festival and we are so pleased we did. It is unusual accommodation and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the location was perfect. We also greatly appreciated Kostas meeting us from the bus - thank you!

Thank you Mr Kostas for your kindness and availability. I loved my stay at the Windmill villas. Definitely one of the best places I have stayed at in Greece so far. The studio is simple but well equipped, there is a rack outside to let clothes dry, a terrace with amazing view on windmill and the sea!! I watched some incredible sunrises from there.

We found the check in process and directions confusing which meant we were anxious right up to the point of being kindly collected from the bus stop by a very nice young woman and taken to our room! It seemed that more than one person was communicating with us, so we were told different things … I.e. one minute we were all set to get a bus to arrive mid-afternoon, then we had a message telling us to get the 12:00 bus ( which we couldn’t). I’m sure it was all done to be helpful, but it really got confusing and sadly, stressful.

Fabulous location, walking distance to the tiny village of Artemonas, incredible views across the Aegean Sea. Exceptionally clean and decently equipped kitchen area.

It's secluded yet a short walk into town away (Artemonas) - and another 10min to Apollonia (exit next to Hellenic Post Office). The rooms are being cleaned every day (!). For a small place like this, it is something some Italian hotels should take note from - the effort is mind boggling. Clean sheets each night and a clean room one has the pleasure to return to. I hope to be a guest at this small but fine property at some point in my life again!

The road to the property is pretty steep, so you might need some driving skills or a good car to climb it easily. The property, located in an old windmill, would benefit from some renovations, as the hairdryer is very old, the bathroom floor is slippery and some tiles would be necessary, the door handle of the bathroom was broken, as well as the handle of the bathroom sink. A more thorough cleaning of the bathtub was also needed, as the water was not draining well. Prices could go a bit lower, the ones of now do not reflect the facilities that are provided - you can rise them when the above are fixed.

The view is majestic, and the location is peaceful and quiet, allowing you to observe the Aegean Sea under your feet. The room was spacious, the kitchen was well-equipped, our balcony was cute, and the cleaning lady and our host were polite and welcoming. It is exciting to stay in an old windmill :) We were about 2 minutes away from the village, and everything was nearby. We had daily cleaning and fresh towels.

Our accomodation was over 3 levels and was located in a traditional windmill so it was quite unusual! There isn't really a proper living room (just a kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms), but as it was late July we were able to sit outside on the large terrace and enjoy the stunning views from our hilltop position. Everything is small and compact, but there was plenty of room for the two of us for 3 nights. We did not have a car so the owner very kindly collected us from the the bus station on our arrival, and is able to make arrangments for a transfer back to the port but communication otherwise is a bit difficult as he could not speak English. Getting around without a car from Windmill Villas was easy using the buses. The bus stop is a 10 minute walk away in the pretty town of Artemonas, which has lots of nice restaurants and bars. The beaches are easy to access from Artemonas using the buses which run regularly in summer. If you like to have stunning water views and want a unique experience while in Greece, we highly recommend the windmill at Windmill Villas.

Difficult to come up with something we did not like. I guess it has to do with expectations. We have lived in windmills before. It’s windy : )

Amazing views, sunrises, sunset skies, quietness, solitude, and private terrace. The fresh breezes. The wind which gives a bit lower temperatures.

One of the bedrooms can get quite warm, and the air conditioning does not seem to cool it down much - to be clear the air conditioning works well for the rest of the house, just that one bedroom struggles to cool down. No shade for parking.

Amazing views of the Aegean sea. A lot of space - two double bedrooms and couches that can be used as beds, two bathrooms. Accommodating staff that helped us with washing: the washing machine is shared, so you have to talk to staff to find a time to run a load. Convenient clothesline to dry your washing and swimware. While it looks isolated when you get there by car, there is a convenient footpath that brings you to the village of Artemonas in a few minutes.

The view from the top of the hill is magnificent, and this combined with the isolation makes this accommodation very atmospheric and relaxing. I would recommend that you do need your own transport if staying here. The rooms are really nice and the owner is very accommodating.

I personally liked everything because i love walking. But some people without a vehicle might find it challenging to get up there . But it is the price of solitude.

The view is everything. If you prefer a place away from the sounds of the town . The moisture and the heat are considerably less up there . It's 10 minutes walking to the centre of Artemonas and the bus terminal .

Quite windy. But that's why there's a Windmill there ! The terrces of the separate studios (2) are sheltered from the prevailing northerly winds.

Location for Artemonas and walking superb. Nice outside terrace facing the Windmill so we could sit and enjoy it in full. Good sea views down to Kastro.

Minor point, but signage to show it's a rental would maybe stop people wandering into the property courtyard for photos - encroaching on relaxing space.

Quirky accommodation, very clean, stunning views. Friendly host who picked us up and dropped off again at bus stop. Walk into village so pretty.
