Very good value for money. Small but quiet room with air conditionning. Quiet environment. Walking distance from botanical garden and city center.

location and price

The place was spotless. Aircon worked perfect and bed was clean and comfy. Perfect as a base to see the sights and great value. Good bus service not far away and local amenities close by. If, like me, you don't mind not having luxuries then the Zappion Hotel is more than adequate.

Room size ok Bathroom tiny shower was extremely small could barely shower in it Fridge leaked all over floor first nite then came good Bed linen changed daily but no fitted sheet and mattress cover kept coming off as well. First day bottom sheet had bloodstains among other stains. Not from us. The afternoon staff was a lovely gentleman the lady in the morning was very abrupt about everything. Lites over bed didn’t work.

The room was nice and clean with good air con. The staff were extremely lovely and kind - they even upgraded our rooms

It’s right where holiday traveler are looking for, Bars, Cafes and very secured area.

I have stayed here a number of times and previously rated it higher (on a good day, I would say it is a solid 8-8.5), but have to say that my last stay was pretty uncomfortable. I generally like this place, the staff and the location. It is simple, yes, but for the money it is ok. The bed is comfortable. It is an old place and it shows in some places, but it is always spotless.

Unfortunately, on a hot July day, the room temperature was unbearable and the AC useless. I checked in at about 8pm and it was very hot in my room. AC only works when the key is in and it seems to be a very old AC. I decided to stick a piece of paper where the key usually goes and went for dinner with the AC on. Unfortunately, when I got back 2.5 hours later, the piece of paper wasn't in there anymore (fallen out? someone removed it?) and the room was boiling hot. I did not manage to get it to a decent temperature for sleeping. At some point (2am?) I decided to just set the AC to 17C but unfortunately, the AC just didn't manage, in the morning it was still 24 degrees in the room. It was frustrating, since I really wanted to be rested, but to be honest, I could have just as well slept on a bench at the airport. I wish rooms were cooled to a decent temperature before guests arrive in the summer. And the "AC only running with the key in" is just outdated and impractical. Prices doubled since I first stayed here 6-7 years ago, and I think a bit more comfort can be expected. I've just previously stayed at a similarly priced hotel on an island, and AC was top and set to a nice temperature when I arrived - this can definitely be done better. All that said - I will probably be back for the convenience and the location, but in the hot summer months I might consider a different place.

The hotel is quite basic, with old furniture and very small bathroom. However, the personnel was very nice and it was overall what I ask asked for (cheap room for one night).

The room was not super comfortable and the bathroom extremely small. The main disadvantage was that the reception closes at 23:00 and the guest needs special arrangements if coming back earlier. It was a bit stressing to think about the hour of return, but at least I could sleep longer :)
